Sigh. I can't wait to be able to use this thing to get Minecraft to generate actual BEACHES. Beaches are so terrible now, compared to how they could generate in much older Minecraft versions. (A sheer cliff face with sand blocks is not a "beach", Team Minecraft. A one block wide sand border around some land here and there is not a "beach", especially when its bordered by one of those damnable forever-oceans.)
For now, all I can do is use Tropicraft to get my fill of beaches. Which is nice and all, but it's a seperate dimension mod, so it's not the same as living on the overworld.
I have a dilemma.. I have EBXL and FN working happily together, Even got them working with Custom Ore Gen and Better World Gen. My problem is this.. the only thing I want from Better World Gen is the new water colorations. If I could find a way to get just that, I'd drop the mod entirely and stick with EBXL and FN (love their trees and vegetation) The new world types in BWG is nice, but I can just do that with my Mystcraft. Is there any way to get custom water coloring into your biomes?
Sorry if this is worded badly, still waking up and have read way too many config files and forum posts in the last few hours.

Hey Scott; found another one but I'm not sure if this one belongs to you or Red Power
This would be a RP2 issue as her volcanos are one of the last things to load into the world after it has been generated. This causes some strange placements for volcanos and as I understand it...both mod makers are aware of it and per Scott on Github when someone else raised this issue: "I have provided code in Forge to fix these issues and Eloraam has asked me specifically not to add support for her terrain gen items as she has plans to use the forge hooks."

I was under the impression that Eloraam has things set up so that volcanos (randomly) get generated on top of where the normal terrain generation places large quantities of lava. Hence why you don't see her volcanoes that often (if at all) in dimension mods that are short on lava generation.
(My personal favorite is how the Tropicraft volcanoes almost always seem to end up "wrapped inside" of a RP2 volcano shell...so that it's like their volcano is inside another volcano. If you actually manage to mine safely into the core of one of those things, it can look pretty epic, in an "I'd love to make an evil volcano lair" way.)

Yes, I believe that is correct. However, what's causing this to happen is that they don't spawn until other things are in place so many times they generate over something that was already there...such as trees or in your example...a volcano from Tropicraft.

I guess what I was trying to get at was that in the case of RedPower's design, the volcanoes are "working as intended". Which kind of makes sense, if you approach it from the angle of "there were things here, but then a volcano happened".
As far as my experience goes, I've never had any "weird" volcanoes in ExtraBiomes areas, so I hope whenever she decided to tweak the generation, it doesn't end up with them not showing up in the ExtraBiomes biomes anymore.
Not sure exactly how to report this, especially since it isn't really even an issue for some people with better computers than mine, but I think I just figured out why my frame rate can get so wacky sometimes. As it turns out, in certain biomes (well, I noticed it in the Mini Jungle biome but I'd guess that there are a few others as well), the generation system seems to create a ridiculous number of entities. Normally, my entity counter hangs out at around 150 absolute max. But when I get deep inside a Mini Jungle, for example, I've seen it jump to 500+ on rare occasion, and usually it hits 250 at bare minimum. Sure enough, looking around on the tops of the trees in creative mode, I see tons of loose saplings and apples. Leave the jungle and my stability returns as the entities get out of my viewing range. Now, as I said, some people probably won't even notice, but I sure do when I'm stuck with this laptop's integrated graphics. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

Turn those biomes off? You will often get the same thing around a RP2 Volcano, as they gen after world gen so they often "eat" trees and tall grass spawning a ton of saplings/seeds.

Yes, I believe they are currently working as Eloraam intended, which is what my point was as well. It's just that they tend to spawn over things that already exist in the world and in many instances in my experience, very odd places. You would have to ask her, but from what I have read and seen her say is that they would still spawn in our biomes...but the forge hooks would make them spawn in places that make more sense in their placement.

My first suggestion would be to turn your graphics to fast and the render distance to normal. The decay you see in those areas is something that happens in heavily forested areas...it happens to me a lot in vanilla jungles. If you stand still for a minute or two it normally evens out and will be ok and it also only happens the first time you go into a new area. The other option would be to turn off biomes that have the huge trees or large numbers of trees....but I would try my first suggestion before disabling any biomes. Another option would be to use Optifine. It has a lot of options to tweek graphics that can make things run much better.

RV, Annysia already responded with the correct information. I wanted to confirm that I added forge hooks to terrain gen to specifically fix this issue and Eloraam has confirmed plans to use them. and I also wanted to say thanks--I know this took some effort to report.
Is there a way for me to simply make something like the config file added by the mod to just disable jungles but not use this actual mod? I really really hate jungles but do not want extra biomes. (Although I do like the idea of this mod, used it before.)
I know I could install the mod and just disable everything but the ones I want, but is there another way?
Thanks

Stop worrying so much,
worrying is using your imagination to create things you don't want to.

Yes--if you want some of the functionality of this mod, but not this mod, then that by definition is a new mod. Feel free to take a look at the source code of this mod for help.
Hey there, just wanted to tell you your mod is PAST amazing; I even down-graded my MC files from snapshots to get ahold of it. I'm thinking of doing something similar, only using just vanilla blocks and items to generate new structures. I'm thinking of making it centered more around dungeons and towns, so that you could have massive castles filled with NPCs, ripe for looting or inhabiting. Anyways, keep up the good work!!!

You will have that ability in ebxl 4.
