That's how it seems to be working for me. I installed manually and didn't get the Advanced World Options button. Trying to load it via Magic Launcher just results in Magic Launcher saying something about "internal mod."
I didn't try launching with the default Minecraft.exe.
EDIT: Launching with Minecraft.exe just results in a straight-up crash. Bet my dumbass forgot to put modloader into the minecraft.jar, though.
pretty good mod, but I do have an issue with something...
is there a way to get the land level higher? every time I set it past 100 the game crashes when generating a new world. I really hate to see that +150 blocks of air just going to waste... (at least for most survival maps)
*edit*
nevermind. setting the ravine spawn rate to 0 was a bad idea. (set it that way because I hate ravines)
after re-reading the first post I set it to 500 and it generated fine, even with the height above 128
....OMG. this is halarious. I think I created a submerged world. all the grass is underwater except for ONE BLOCK that has a fern on it. and I'm on the jungle hills so I think this is the highest I'm going. I'll post some pictures soon. XD
as far as ideas are concerned... any idea with allowing us to change what the water block is? I've always wanted to generate an ocean of lava in my world. or an ocean of oil with buildcraft XD
Is there any list anywhere that describes what the various fields in the worldconfig.ini file control?
Is there any way to control the base size of each biome with this mod?
Are there any controls where I can change the relative abundance of each type of biome? For example, I'd love to make my world about 50% grasslands with a sprinkling of other biomes.
Well, I have some proper instructions here. I decided to experiment on my own on how the real process of installation is. Well, here it is so for you guys will not have mistakes since the instructions on the 1st page are somewhat wrong.
Single Player Installation
Open biomod2.zip
Extract the "worlds" folder to your .minecraft directory
Windows: %APPDATA%/.minecraft
MAC OS:~/Library/Application Support/minecraft
Linux: /home/username/.minecraft
Open minecraft.jar using WinZIP/WinRAR/7zip found at your .minecraft/bin folder
Optional: Backup minecraft.jar so you don't have to lose whatever you have there.
DELETE "META-INF"
Drag all the contents inside of the folder "Singleplayer" to minecraft.jar, replacing everything.
If you have done it correctly, the game will now use BioMod 2.0
Single Player MagicLauncher Installation
MagicLauncher is a service for easier mod installation with different settings to come by.
You can download MagicLauncher their post here.
Open biomod2.zip
Extract the "worlds" folder to your .minecraft directory
Windows: %APPDATA%/.minecraft
MAC OS:~/Library/Application Support/minecraft
Linux: /home/username/.minecraft
Extract biomod_2_magicLauncher.zip found in the "mods" folder to your "magic" folder in your .minecraft directory
Run MagicLauncher
Click Setup then click Add in the upcoming window
Navigate your your "magic" folder and select biomod_2_magicLauncher.zip
If the status of the shown mod is okay, press OK.
If not, there might be a conflict with mods in your minecraft.jar or in MagicLauncher. Try messing around with their order if possible.
Log in into minecraft and the game will now use BioMod 2.0
Multiplayer Server Setup
The clients don't need to get BioMod 2.0 anymore since this only modifies the server itself, not the clients.
Open biomod2.zip
Extract the "worlds" folder to your server directory
Open minecraft_server.jar using WinZIP/WinRAR/7zip
Optional: Backup minecraft_server.jar so you don't have to lose whatever you have there.
DELETE "META-INF"
Drag all the contents inside of the folder "Multiplayer" to minecraft.jar, replacing everything.
If you have done it correctly, the server will now use BioMod 2.0
Incompatibility:
The mod will not work and/or the game will crash if there is another mod that changes how biomes and worlds are generated.
when i install the mod i push single player and it crashesand i cant see what it says and if install modloader it doesnt get to the title screen help plz?
Well I'll be dipped! Thanks Pachikira! It works to install it with magiclauncher, not as an external mod that goes in the mod folder, but as an internal mod!
Well, I guess one of the good things about all of this is MagicLauncher makes installing mods much easier, even if it can be a little flaky at times with compatibility.
Woah! Hey, this is weird, jungle and forest is crossed. The Jungle Paradise creates dense forest, and the Forest Paradise creates dense jungle. Looking at the .ini you have it listed correctly, so all I can think is Mojang has it coded backwards?

It might be possible with the exchanging of codes from the terrain generation. It is also possible he might have exchanged the names of the biomes though.

I don't know about this... I might think of another way to do it.
Except, it uses the contents of MagicLauncher.
It is important to install first Risugami's ModLoader 1.2.3 Single Player Installation Alternative (Non-MagicLauncher)
Here, we're using the inside contents of the magicLauncher ZIP file to use than the singleplayer folder.
Open biomod2.zip
Extract the "worlds" folder to your .minecraftdirectory
Windows:%APPDATA%/.minecraft
MAC OS:~/Library/Application Support/minecraft
Linux:/home/username/.minecraft

As for after installing ModLoader and getting the black screen, I don't know.
It might be ModLoader's fault. Some have reported they're having a black screen after this.
I'm unsure about the alternative at all. It might have the MagicLauncher one might have the right files afterall.
This mod is interesting, hypothetically speaking now would it be possible for me to load the mod change a biome and unload it? Just wondering in case if the mod would conflict with something down the road.
"Any mod that changes how Biomes and the World are generated."
Does them mean biome mods, or will mods that add things like ores work?
Mods that add custom blocks are fine, as long as they use modloader as an API. I think he's saying you can't have two world generators running at once.

I get this error. It says it cannot find that path, but I have the worlds folder in my .minecraft folder.
Is it specifically looking for the "%APPDATA%/.minecraft" folder? I'm using Mulitcraft and I have my .minecraft folder located somewhere else.

If you edited the ini then you may have used a value in an incorrect format (int, float, bool, etc.). I've had this same problem before.

EDIT: Well, I seem to be having the manual install crash everyone else is. Oh well.
