Installing the Aether extension shouldn't be any different from installing the Background or Qwerty's Favorites or all the rest. I have it in with my working Minecraft setup.
Tried it one more time merged mods folder from the aether extension with the minecraft mods folder same with the resources folder. No luck oh well, thank for trying to help :).

Sorry I'm unable to be more helpful; the crash log is very vague and doesn't show me anything in my code that could help me figure out what's going on; it just seems like ModLoader can't get it working. Not your fault; the Caused By and At stack lines are always the important bits. It's just that in this case, the important bits are not also informative bits.

Do I have to put it in big bold text on the main page? EDIT THE CONFIGURATION FILE. It tells you how in what are (I hope) simple enough words in the OP.
Hey there I seem to have a problem installing this mod. This error keeps popping up when I try to start it:

I've tried to delete files that could be possibly related to this error but that produces a black screen.
I do have quite a few mods, if that help any. It would help a lot
Hi. This is a fantastic mod. However, when I try to install an expansion, my mc gets stuck at the Mojang screen. I am using a MacBook Pro. I also haven't used any auto mod installers like mcpatcher or optfine. I hope you can help.
EDIT: Its just a sprite id conflict. I'm just going to uninstall and reinstall this mod and my other 9 mods that I have. Sorry to bother you.

It would appear that this bit is causing the problem for you:
ModLoader.addShapelessRecipe(new ItemStack(ExtensionFavsDisc1, 1), new Object[]
{
mod_kbidiscs.BlankDiscBasic, ExtensionFavsSheet1
});
It would appear that for some reason, your Minecraft doesn't like referencing the blank disc from the main mod inside the expansion. I'll try changing some stuff around so that that item isn't located in a mod file when I next update and hopefully that should fix that. For now, you can try adding any expansion discs through the config file for the main mod if nothing else is working -- you won't get the normal recipes but the songs will play fine and if you do it right the disc items will look right.

I'm afraid I can't help you without an error report. Check ModLoader.txt inside your .minecraft folder and find the part where it reads an error. If it doesn't say anything, try running this error test program and copying what it says when it errors.
I need help on putting custom music. I put the song on resources/mods/streaming. Wat i dont get is the config/KBI. I went to config but i dont have KBI
Edit: found the prob but now when i use the PDP it just crashes. I right click it and immediately it says saving chunks and closes.
ok fixed lol just had to delete sd.class and add it again
Quick question before I'm fully on board with this mod... do creepers drop custom discs when killed by a skeleton?
No, that would require a class-edit to creepers. They only drop the vanilla discs. If I were to do anything with that feature, I'd probably remove it instead of adding to it -- in vanilla Minecraft it's fine and makes a bit of gaming sense, but with the crafting system and the ability to find discs in dungeons I just don't see the point in it. How do dead creepers manage to transform into a music disc when punctured by an arrow shot by a mobile pile of bones? Yeah, there are more whimsical things in Minecraft, but I think we could do without it with this mod.
Are you planning on adding SMP support? It would be nice to be able to invite a player to your house and play one of the custom songs(I do realize it would require the other person having the same resources and config file but on private servers people would do that )
I'm waiting on 1.3 and/or time and motivation for that. Forge has also gone through some changes recently, apparently now including ModLoader and being "stand-alone" so there's a big list of things I'll need to work on, SMP and integration with my other mod being on top of the list.
I feel like a dumbass for even having to ask this, but exactly HOW do i add my music to the custom disks? i have already converted them to .ogg format, and renamed them to match the disk numbers (custom song 1.ogg, etc.), but the music still doesn't play!

Ah, okay then. Well, good to know. I might use this at some point.

Go to your minecraft folder, /config, /KBI. For example, I have some Portal custom music, so mine looks like this:
