Is the bamboo really intended to grow out of control like this? I really like how it looks and wouldn't mind small stands of it...but it is spreading out of control. The area in the screen shot I had removed most of that and within about 5 hours it is totally over grown again and spreading. If I had known it would get this bad I would have removed the tiny bamboo shoots when I first saw them And if you miss even just 1 of the tiny shoots that start it, it just spreads all over again.

Look at it this way, lots of bamboo equals lots of bamboo soup! Wait we can't do that can we... can we? Surely it would make a base for animal feed. mince it up and then toss in some kind of oat... barley perhaps?
My horses would love that.
Hey guys I seem to also be getting an NPE error when I attempted to harvest a grape I am including the crash report here to see if it helps the developers of the Mod.

I get that npe error with grapes, too.. also with other crops on that same block (pineapple, cabbage, etc.).. =\ For all of the other crop blocks except the bamboo/hemp/cotton/corn, the crops don't visually update unless I right-click them or relog. The bamboo, etc., works fine.
And yeah, I've experienced the virulence of the bamboo also.. spent hours clearing it out ruthlessly, and now I've got tons of furnace fuel in the form of bamboo planks lol. I set up a confined area for it to grow in case I need more fuel at some point. It seems to only spread on grass, unless I miss my guess, and can only spread to a spot next to it (probably diagonals, though I'm not sure), so it won't hop a barrier if you surround it something other than dirt/grass blocks.
All of the mod tree leaf blocks now decay that I've seen so far (hooray!) except the crystal leaves.

Yeah I noticed it was just that one block, i had another grape doing just fine that i had just harvested... got it again on another one in a new world, i died so it got deleted. :S Doing a bit better this time, i've got tons of cooked ham.

Also is there any chance on adding a " #Comment " to the config giving info to end users in what the Min=min , and Max=max range Values are.
Yea... for now know the range is 1 to [big number].

Set the bamboo buffer high. That lowers the growth rate.
For example: if you set it to 500, there is a 1 in 500 chance a bamboo block will spread when it ticks. The default is 2 >.>
Also, bamboo CANNOT spread beyond a 1 block radius. This means you can build a wall of sand or anything that isn't dirt one block wide to contain it.
Bamboo can be annoying to deal with in reality... and I was trying to emulate that XD

Seems like an idea.
Do all foods work on horses from that mod?

I'll check out the crop block.
You can increase the bamboo buffer in the cfg file to about 500. That will decrease the growth rate by 250 times. You could also put down 2,000,000 if you really don't want it to spead XD

You have succeeded! And while it's good to know that you can build a wall to contain it...that isn't very practical unless you were putting it in a farm. It makes it impossible to see anything on the ground...from the plants and crops and bushes to my Forestry bee hives. I play in peaceful mode...but I can't imagine what this is like if you had monsters on. You can't see around at all since it completely takes over the area and then you aren't able to enjoy all the other things in your mod.

Set the buffer to a million. You should be fine then.
was this implemented in a revision my configs for both LCTrees and LCCrops do not have any setting to set the rate of bamboo or anything else other then a true false statement for generation of the items. Were do I find this configs that you are talking about?

LOL. But true. I think I'll have to uninstall the crops for now, it's doing it on other plants where i know i haven't planted grapes on so it could be that it happens when a grape plant exists, makes no sense to me but what the heck do I know. Unfortunately I was saying that animal feed figuratively in regards to the horsey-ness, i doubt that there's a horse mod out there that just lets you feed your horse random gibbets of food as long as it's edible. Hmm... would still be nice to have access to an alternative food source for animals, but the exact point would be almost moot if you made it act just like wheat. A slightly good idea for an alternative use for bamboo, but not inherently necessary. Back to the drawing board I suppose.

For bamboo it should be in LCCrops.cfg under GENERAL called "Bamboo Spread Buffer"

nope sorry mate the general section of the config files for both LCTrees and LCCrops are blank as in i only get the squiggly brackets with nothing in them and then just skips to the next section. In the spoilers is how my config file looks for LCCrops and it was generated through the use of multiMC.

At least the ID number for the crystal ground cover should've been less than 256; which is real bummer, since I can't group that with the other blocks/items that are with your mod.
Also can't update Forge because of a crash bug in Forge itself relating with the Computercraft mod, so I can't change the ID of the crystal ground cover to higher than 256.
Oh well, I guess I'll have-to wait for either Forge or ComputerCraft to update, so I can be able to change the crystal ground cover to higher than 256(maybe).
Also, I've made a Mystcraft age of just the Crystal forest as the single biome and entered in that same age in a test world, I had come across this.
No crystal trees, crystal focuses nor the crystals themselves generating at all in that age(or any other age I make that has crystal forest as the biome), even when all of the trees generation per chunk is set to default setting.
I'm not sure that this is intentional or what; but it doesn't look right in my perspective.

I get that same thing, soldjermon... it's more than the crystal forest, though.. none of the new biomes generate any new trees, shrubs, flowers, etc., in mystcraft ages. I just assumed that it was the old version of forge required to use mystcraft that was to blame, but I could be wrong.

--- END ERROR REPORT d4560fef ----------
And yeah, I've experienced the virulence of the bamboo also.. spent hours clearing it out ruthlessly, and now I've got tons of furnace fuel in the form of bamboo planks lol.
EDIT: I LIKE PI. *points to post count*
Which trees?
I tested some, and they decayed...
K, I'll check it out.
Yea... for now know the range is 1 to [big number].
LOL.
Maybe I'll do that.
Set the buffer to a million. You should be fine then.
LOL.
The grapes are made to grow two blocks high.

The mod should auto generate it.
What version of the mod are you using?
Also can't update Forge because of a crash bug in Forge itself relating with the Computercraft mod, so I can't change the ID of the crystal ground cover to higher than 256.
Oh well, I guess I'll have-to wait for either Forge or ComputerCraft to update, so I can be able to change the crystal ground cover to higher than 256(maybe).
Also, I've made a Mystcraft age of just the Crystal forest as the single biome and entered in that same age in a test world, I had come across this.
I'm not sure that this is intentional or what; but it doesn't look right in my perspective.
