Huge update with that feature some of you really really wanted.
And boy was it a ***** to code.
Update, 1.2.3
- fixed various bugs, crashes and inefficiencies
- made Strip Mining schematic longer so its clearer what you are doing and where it points to
- swapping your Item away from the Master staff cancels selections, selecting only possible with Staff in hand
- added custom space digging! Your minions can now move mountains if you freaking say so. Dungeons can now also be dug without hassle ...
- new Minion AI automatically digs out an access stairwell for high enclosed spaces, if top layers cannot be reached by Minions
All downloads (client, server, bukkit) have the new version.
I have only tested it as to ascertain it works, i cannot guarantee this new functionality doesnt have crashes in it.
Love the new update but strip mining returns this after a few min

I usually get a "saving chunks" crash whenever I tell them to mine an ore vein. And when they do mine an ore vien, sometimes dirt blocks appear where the ore used to be. If there is a place that I can find the crash report for this error, help with finding that would be appreciated.
I'm sorry for sounding like a noob but I've never done this before:
I have a bukkit server, there are three files in the minions zip file. Do I have to put the craftbukkit server files in my craftbukkit jar file or the "server" files in my craftbukkit jar file? And do I still have to use the client files to mod my client? Do all the users have to mod their clients? Isn't there any way of doing it over spoutcraft?
For your server, you merely copy the /bukkit/ contents to where your server jar is, so the /mods/ folders align.
Clients connecting to the server and wanting to use Minion must have the Minions client, of course.
Be able to choose not only width but to choose other parameters, right now you can only ask for your minions to custom dig something like 20x20x5, it would be great to be able to dig 20x15x5 for example if you understand what I mean
i know what you mean. rejected.
Have custom structures saved that your minions would be able to build like the millenaire npcs, for example, Small House, Medium House, Large House, and of course you wouldn't be able to build it for free you would have to give the minions some wood first or ask them to chop some wood first an d if you had the wood required you could build a house. This would be extremely helpful for those times you are out exploring way out of spawn and need another place in that area where you can stay.
no
Also, this is just me but I would love the mineshafts to have some different kinds of stairs, for example wooden or stone stairs with 2 width and some fences to prevent falling. I have lost count over the times I fell into the mineshaft because of the tiny stairs, and of course died
How do I make Minions go away? I have like 4 of them, and I want them to just stop following me around and stuff. Can you make it that maybe if you don't have the Master's Staff in your inventory, the Minions all despawn? Also, I really need a guide to using them. I tried to get them to strip-mine down, and after they dug down about 4 layers, they stopped and just stood around looking at me. It'll be a useful mod, but I need to get them to work right first!

Thoughts? Suggestions? Random acts of petty fanboyish hatred?
I really appreciate all of your hard work and effort taken in this mod.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to use it due to the Forge attachment.
Thus I would like to know why did you switched from MLMP.

Multiple reasons. One of them being the same, why Forge took over MLMP role - MLMP being a closed-source API mod.

Watch one of the several Minions videos on youtube. They work right. It is you who isnt giving the right orders.
Next version im currently polishing will have the custom space digging people have been demanding.
The bug you reported was fixed aswell.

Suddenly, I like your attitude...
- fixed some crashes with pathfinding and chunk loading
A suggestion: Change the title to "version (or some variant thereof) 1.2.4", so people don't think its outdated

EDIT:
Released a small bugfix update, and updated the bukkit version to match the client.
You are not following basic error report guidelines, thats why you are being ignored
Minecraft version
Minions version (client, server, other?)
Reproducible?
Other mods?
If i assume the "Minions disappear bug" happens on client - the Forge Chunk Unload hook might not be working in singleplayer.
As stated previously in this thread, a Mineshaft will keep being dug until a segment bottom ( a stair side ) reaches depth 8 or lower.
