I really love this mod but my PC grinds to a halt when I'm near a meteor shield. I have a high end PC so I know it's not the problem. I'm allocating 4gigs to Minecraft.
For now, I found that burying the Meteor Shield works...it's the particle effects that make my PC cry. Is there a way to disable the particle effects in the config?
You can place a block on top of the shield to disable particle effects. Even still though, my PC handles the particle effects just fine and I don't have that great of a PC.
So I've got a problem. No meteors are falling and the meteor timer doesn't emit a redstone signal. I checked the config file and all the meteor spawns are set to true and the comet fall chance is unchanged at 20. I am running other mods but I don't see how any of them would be a problem. Please help.

Check that Meteor Fall Deterrence isn't zero. Also, if you are using the MC 1.7 version of this mod, enable commands for yourself and do /listMeteors. That will show you the current queue of meteors and when a new one may pop up.

Thanks I boosted the deterrence up and it seemed to make meteors spawn and the list displays the meteor queue.
Just like to inform everyone that there will probably be an update by the end of the week. This update will hopefully give a little more utility to the mod. The update will add a special machine that will open up a few more doors of opportunity. Only other hint I will give is that it involves Frezarite and it's really *cool*. HA! *slaps knee*
Make it for 1.7.2 and inform us which version of Baubles should we use wit it. Thanks.
The current version of the mod works fine with 1.7.2 and this upcoming update should too. Just use the Baubles version that is recommended for that specific minecraft version.
Hello guys, my timer detector doesn't work, I put it on Quick Mode and doesn't work, I see the meteor and the redstone signal doesn't appear, and the same happens in Power Mode.
Can you add a config option to spawn your nether portal meteors with their portals deactivated? Meteors are spawning in the world and mobs are walking through their active portals. This is causing extra portals to generate, including portals in my base.
For a map/modpack creator - is there anyway to have a file that loads on startup that can dictate when the first five-ten meteors are queued up?
Ideally I would like to say World Start time + .2 Minecraft day, send a frezerite meteor, The reason I would like this is that way I can start the map off in a certain direction by scaring the player and making them very aware that they must build to protect themselves from Meteors.

Just a thought
There are two ways you could probably go about this. One, make a world and try to get the specified meteor to queue up with as much time as you want left on it. (Use /listMeteors to see how much remaining time is left before the meteor impacts and where) Once that's done, save the world and close minecraft. Go into that world's save folder and look in the data folder. You'll see a metGhostMets.dat file. This contains the list of queued up meteors. Pop that file into a new world every time it generates by some other means and you will have your queued up meteors. You can also use a NBT Editor on that file to get the specifics just right.
The second way is through commands. /meteor will spawn a meteor like it normally would in the world. The only caveat about it is that the detectors and such won't detect it like they normally would. It can however still be blocked by a meteor shield. So this could definitely work as an early game startup since the players won't normally have any of the detectors.
This mod is in the Madpack for AT Launcher. I was just in my village house, and a meteor fell on my house. Burned all of my chests and all of my stuff. Even my newly made quarry from Buildcraft was destroyed. I couldn't deal with it. There was no way to pick all of the stuff up in time. I deleted my world and that instance. It was all I could do to keep myself from crying. Never installing this mod.

Hopefully that will get you closer to a solution.
That may work, the only thing is that in my modpack I'm not actually providing maps like Ag Skies, The world can be pregenerated by anyone, however I think I have the frequency tweaked enough that I'm not needing it like I thought I would.
A new thought/request from some of the players, is that when the meteors spawn, have them spawn mobs. This is something which I think is awesome and could be fun. Ideally it would just be a config option for each meteorite type, and I could list any unique entity name (like how HQM detects mob kills) and they would have a chance to spawn on a meteor drop.
Once again - just more thoughts since you asked. Lots of positive reviews from your meteor mod from players tho!
