This mod lets you name your dogs by right clicking them with a piece of paper and then entering the desired name. Names persist through game sessions and are displayed above the dogs head just like player names in multiplayer.

Nice! Does it conflict with any of the Minecraft files? If not, then i need this! :biggrin.gif:
Unfortunately to do this I need to edit both EntityWolf and RenderWolf so it would be incompatibile with Doggy Talents mod. However, that mod already gives you naming dogs effect so I don't think it will be an issue. It doesn't edit any major files so I can't think of any incompatibilities that will be a problem.
I tame them, get attached to them, and I don't bring them anywhere because I don't want them to die, they then become a waste of space and I end up killing the dog.

You comment made me lol and realize I do the same :|
Yeah, there is really nothing else to be said about it.

Nope, it wouldn't be incompatible with DT, DT doesn't edit any base class files, hasn't since I think 1.8.1.
Is it compatible with wolves online? I realize that it would be entirely client, but it would still be a nice feature to have. I'm no modder, so forgive me if I'm so presumptuous here, but couldn't you have the client save the ID for wolves online per IP just as a .txt file or some other means?
hey your the dude that made the modding tutorials that didn't work and he didn't even care!!!! This guy is a rip off! Though I will still get your mod....

Alright, I'll admit it, some people had some errors with my tutorial. It was the first I had written. I fixed all the problems. Seriously, go check the thread out where I fixed their problems.
The only person I didn't help is you and that was because your problem was not changing the name of the mod from "Tutorial" which I trusted you would figure out by the time I posted a day later. And your error before that was having two periods...
Welcome to the Dog-Modding community, Stewie! The number of dog mods is very small, and it's always nice to see another. Naming is pretty much the standard must-have for any other dog mod, but no mod I know of actually has that as a stand-alone feature except for yours. Good work!

Why? It just adds a name tags for your dogs. I don't see what else need to be said.
Though can you make the nametags a bit closer to the dogs? They seem to high up.

For Ever alone ;_;
If she wants the shaft, she must play the Craft.

Anyway, Nice work!
Ah right, you transform them into DoggyTalent's wolves or something so you can just make everything there.
It would be nice if you made the attempt, even it it was entirely client side only. Thank you!

Well that's good because I rarely end up finishing larger mods that I start.
