its not you, its your computer. SEUS does not work very well with macs or with Intel graphics.
After much time spent researching this problem (because I'm a Linux user and I can't use SEUS either, which bugs the F***K out of me!), I found, quite by accident, the source of our contention. The problem isn't quite the computer. Rather, it's Mojang.
As I understand it, on Mac and Linux, the Official Minecraft Launcher doesn't load the same LWJGL versions as it does on Windows so even if you're using the newest driver for your card which would otherwise support OpenGL 3 or 4, the LWJGL versions used on non-Windows platforms load OpenGL 2.0 standards, which doesn't cut the mustard for SEUS's requirements.
With a custom launcher, it's possible to override this behaviour, but you'd have to find a way to "translate" the Windows versions to your specific platform (Mac, or Linux), and that it a whole lot more work than it's worth since Vanilla Minecraft runs just fine on these other systems, so it's much easier for us Independent Thinker types to use a different shader pack in the mean time.
In theory, you could use WINE to run the Windows version of the launcher, and it would probably work, but performance likely would be severely compromised. For now, at least, Vanilla Minecraft implements OpenGL 2.0 as it's base standard, so that is the standard used on non-Windows systems. As Minecraft grows and evolves, the standards will increase, but probably not at the same rate that OpenGL grows and evolves, so the rest of us will get left behind unless we can find ways to adapt.
When I try to open gbuffers_weather.fsh to fix the startup error, it says, "The archive is either in unknown format or damaged." so I cant edit it, please help

It would be nice to have a launcher that supports the OpenGL to support the non-Mac or Linux users that want to use shaders! I wish that everything would just work for everything! But sadly each company wants to make as much money as possible. So they make it so that you have to buy or use there software or products and only there's and have it not very or just plain not compatible with other company's stuff.
Hello, this looks amazing so i wanna install it. I got everything installed right but i get a error. Here is the error.
Shaders error: Invalid program gbuffers_textured_lit
Shaders error: Invalid program gbuffers_weather
Shaders error: Invalid program composite
Shaders error: Invalid porgram final
Shaders initalized.
If any help can be given that would be nice.
Sorry if i waste ur time im new to shaders.
updated: and it only shows my screen in the bottom left hand side, but i can see the shader.
That's a white screen with an error message "[Shaders] Error: Invalid program composite." It looks like what would happen if you turned the gamma up to max and then squared it. First time I got this I was using 10.0 standard, and then I tried Ultra DOF and got the same results.
This error is occuring on Minecraft 1.7.4 on a computer running Win7 64-bit 8G RAM, GeForce GTX 660 Ti.
So I had this mod about a year and a half ago, and I loved it. Heres a picture I took with that mod:
Today, I decided I wanted to use it again since I had a lot of fun using it before. But now, whenever its night time, it always looks like this:
I was wondering if there was a way to make it look less moody and orange? I know that in the description for the newest version (preview 2 or 10.1) it states that the torch lighting would look more mellow and less orange, but this still looks pretty orange. Also it seems that there isn't any light coming from the sky at night (moonlight). Was that intentional? Its almost too dark. Is there a way to fix it? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated since I really want to enjoy this awesome mod again.

not liking that darkening, too.. maybe @sonic_ether can add a #define for that
I have a problem with the performence.
I'm just getting 25 FPS but minecraft only uses 30% of my CPU.
I looked everywhere to change that, I gave minecraft all 8 cores, set its priority to high, i run it as admin and I use multicore.
Minecraft is using all cores with different cpu but none with 100% ...
How can i change that because i would like to improve the performance in that way, or is my task manager just lying to my about the cpu usage? (Intel i7 core by the way)
Sry for my bad english (im from germany ^^)
You are most likely GPU limited. Can you give us full specs? MY i7 870 and GTX 770 is GPU limited too. Also, MC only uses two cores IIRC.
There is a fix, i think u have to change something in the config manually
i did the same and it worked, but it was long ago and now it's still working
just google it (or use youtube) and ypu'll find something
Thanks for the advice. I ended up finding as a guide, which worked fine. I used the second method where he describes manually editing the composite.vsh file with notepad++. Using the shader now! Running it on the highest settings and still getting 45fps.
i use this SEUS v10.1 preview 2

For one thing, your FOV seems a little ... Whacked out. For another, try turning your Anti-Aliasing settings down or off completely.
it does not matter
my conf:
ATI Radeon HD 7870 2Go
Intel i5 3570K
8Go Ram Crucial 1600 MHz
2 to HDD
That's okay, my graphics card is crap, too. That's why i'm taking this to Bestbuy to get a new one and upgrade it (with them)
Got bored and replied to an old post. Fail

These forums are dumb and break my links. I'm bubbleawsome on steam too.

Great shaders! Thanks for your hard work.
But I don't know how to upload pictures on the forum...
