Wow, I haven't posted in like a year. Quick question, does anybody know of any texturepacks that feature specular maps / bump maps for the latest version of SEUS? I finished installing version 10.1 (it's excellent) but for the life of me I can't find any texturepacks. I'd really like to have a basic minecraft texturepack that features specular/bump maps, if possible. Cheers!
Looks absolutly amazing !!!
But for me the torches are too yellow und too dark (give too little light)
Also the glowstone !
How can i change it ? i didnt find the parameters...
Please help ! Thanks

how did you get it to work?!?!?! everywone else is bugged
I downloaded this mod and was satisfied with the look but I encountered some bugs. The most annoying of these bugs is that it won't load player skins or mobs and NPC's. Other bugs include not being able to see what is being held in my hand and item frames won't load and I would appreciate any help on this.
Thanks for replying, was wondering if it was just me being derpy or something
Nice to know others are having the same problems.
I've done this solution and it changes from bug-eyed to bright white screen, no GUI no Nothing...
I have problem:
If I open a new world it immidiately says 'Shutting down internal server', after that 'Building terrain' and then just quits to the menu screen.
I've done a clean install on MC, updated everything, and I stiil get the problem...
Playing on Mac should work just fine, if you use the Linux version. The Linux version of Minecraft is just a .jar file that you use Java to open, not a .dmg or .exe. Try the Linux launcher and the Linux version of Forge.
how did you get it to work?!?!?! everywone else is bugged
Alrighty. To make it simple, whether SEUS is gonna work for ya depends on multiple factors.
First and foremost, make sure you have a suitable computer to run it. If the processor isn't wimpy and your graphics card is at least somewhere around a gtx 650ti or one step higher of a radeon equivalent, you should be able to get it to work.
I should note here that if you know how to, you can access folders that I'll tell you to open by going to your minecraft library, but I'll make it easy for peeps who are new to this by telling you how to open these folders via buttons in minecraft itself.
Step 1, update your graphics drivers. Just go to the respective vendors website, there should be a drivers link somewhere around there, and the installation of such drivers is pretty much self explanatory.
Step 2, make sure you are using minecraft 1.7.2 (you can do it with 1.6.4 as well, of course, but I've installed on 1.7.2 so that's what this guide will be for.) To get the 1.7.2 jar, go to the normal minecraft launcher, and in the lower left corner go to edit profile. Somewhere in there is an option to choose what minecraft version you're running. Set it to 1.7.2, run the game to download the jar, then close the game.
This isn't a necessary step, but it makes getting everything set up a little easier (I'm looking at you Optifine) if you're adding more mods later on. MagicLauncher is a self contained launcher with a bunch of options for setting up crud. You can allocate more memory in MagicLauncher by going to Setup in the lower right corner, then clicking the Advanced tab in the upper left, and setting up a new max memory. I set it to 1024 mb as any more seems to just make minecraft fail to launch (for whatever reason.)
The file you will download will be an executable. Run it and Forge will install it's own environment majigger.
Step 5, go back to the DEFAULT minecraft launcher, edit your profile, and set the version you're playing to the new Forge version. This minecraft version will be all the way at the bottom of the list of available versions. After setting up your profile, launch minecraft from the DEFAULT launcher with it set to the forge version.
Step 6, go to MagicLauncher, Setup menu, and set your environment to the Forge version (it should be at the top of the menu, if I'm not mistaken.)
The file you get will be a java executable. Go to MagicLauncher, Setup menu, and press the manage button in the lower right corner. This will open a folder to put your mods in. In this folder, put in the Optifine java executable. Easy peasy. Run minecraft via MagicLauncher right now and make sure it boots up properly (you should have more video options via Optifine.)
The file you get will be a java executable. Go to MagicLauncher, Setup menu, and press the manage button in the lower right corner. This will open a folder to put your mods in. In this folder, put in the Shaders java executable. Easy peasy. Run minecraft via MagicLauncher right now and make sure it boots up properly (you should have a new shaders options menu in video settings, I believe.)
While running minecraft (preferably at the main splash screen), go to your shaders options, and there should be a button to open the shaderpacks folder (lower left corner.) Open the shaderpacks folder and drop in the SEUS 10.1 zip or whatever it is. That was easy. Now just select the SEUS shaderpack by clicking on it in the handydandy built in menu, start up a game, and enjoy mega graphix (hopefully.)
That will get you the base 10.1 functionality of SEUS if everything went right (and there's a lot that could go wrong.) If you're still having issues, ask around. Somebody will hopefully know what causes them.
PS: I'm still looking for a SEUS modified texturepack (with specular/bump maps, you know.)

I must say, that was a great guide, but I myself am still having problems...
So, I have installed the mods correctly I believe, using the following when installing: (Exactly what you said to use) GLSL Shaders Mod v2.3.1 beta for Minecraft 1.7.2
Forge version 10.12.0.998
SEUS v10.1 preview
Optifine HD C2 Ultra
Magic Launcher 1.2.5
My computer specs I am pretty sure are up to par, but I will name them all the same:
CPU- Intel Core i7-4770k
RAM- 8gb
GPU- Gigabyte GTX 770 oc
OS- Windows 8.1
The problems I have been having are kinda strange. I will start up minecraft, whether it be in the magic launcher or the default launcher. I will click either a server or a single player map that I would like to play on, and it will start to build the world, and when it is finished, it closes the game and brings up the launcher again. I really don't know what the problem would be, but I figured here is a good as place as any to ask around. Anyways, thanks for the nice guide, I am sure it will work for someone!
You're going to need this program to mess with your shaderpack files. Go ahead and install it.
Step 12, download winrar. http://www.rarlab.com/ <-- (Their site is a bloody mess, the actual download is near the bottom.)
This will let you open up the rar or zip or whatever files that shaderpacks are so as to mess around with their internal files via notepad++. Install dis.
Step 12, get your SEUS 10.1 shaderpack and make a copy of it. I'd rename it to something like 10.1 MODIFIED so that you don't mistake it for the original. This ensures that if you mess it up you can go back and make a new copy.
Some unnamed person (kudos) posted this useful guide on how to make SEUS 10.1 more amazing. Follow the steps, opening up your shaderpack (just doubleclick it, when windows asks you what to do, open it with winrar.) and then opening up the fsh and vsh files with notepad++ (doubleclick the fsh or vsh file, windows will ask what to do, say use notepad++.)
NOTE: They made two slight errors in their instructions.
The first piece of code they tell you to paste in (inside composite.fsh from lines 1308-1327) should actually be pasted from lines 1308-1328. IF YOU DO NOT MAKE SURE TO PASTE FROM LINES 1308-1328, YOU WILL GET A WHITE SCREEN.
The second error is in the optional settings where they tell you to go to line 161 of gbuffers_terrain.vsh. They tell you to paste over lines 162-171. You actually need to paste over lines 162-170. YOU WILL PROBABLY GET A WHITE SCREEN IF YOU DO NOT PASTE OVER LINES 162-170 AT THIS PART.
(Random Friendly advice, I'd advise not using the Soft_Shadows option. It doesn't look so great IMO. Every other setting makes things look better though.)
Step 14, OPTIONALLY go to final.fsh in your shaderpack, scroll to line 743 and 745, and remove the // on these options to enable DOF and/or motionblur. Depth Of Field looks really nice so I'd advise activating it. I'm not entirely sure if you can have both at the same time, but I've activated both and it runs...
And that's all of what I've done. Best of luck to you chaps. If you issues, ask away.

Did minecraft start up when you tried launching in the intermediate steps (if you did?) If you can install forge all by itself and minecraft works, fine, and if you can install forge and optifine together and minecraft works fine, then I'm not entirely sure what would be causing the crashing.

Uhm, I did start it up every time, but I think I will try re-installing everything and try starting up a world each time to see what mod might be causing the problem. Thanks a lot by the way, you seem to be very helpful!
Alright, so I reinstalled everything, and it worked just fine until I put the SEUS shader into the shader folder, that was what killed me... :/
EDIT- So, I have learned I can have it in the folder, but as soon as I select the shader it kicks me out... Any ideas anyone?
But for me the torches are too yellow und too dark (give too little light)
