This is an error with the installer it seems. You will not get support for this likely, as the mod author will never allow you to install this manually (As with other n2 mods.)
while i am walking, every once in a while, things get see through and i can see lava and tunnels everywhere for like 3 seconds and then it disappears. it is really annoying. is there a way to fix this? thank you
This is utterly amazing and makes it look like it's made from a different engine, though my computer lags horribly when I use it, I love how well everything blends in!, but as a small complaint the lava seemed out of place and a lot darker than the environment when inside a house or cave,It might be that I installed something wrong though xD.
Turn off open gl. I have that problem when I install optifine, and turning off opengl seems to fix it. It' strange considering I can use opengl without optifine.
I found the same solution. but i'm curious to know why this occurs with openGL, and what settings on my card might solve this problem. I get about 5 fps more using openGL, but i get the flicker. 5 fps increase on this mod is a lot...
Uh, guys you shouldn't upload your minecraft.jar's. It's kind of a little bit illegal. Just a tiny bit. I'm sure the moderators will not like you for that.
Just spent about two hours messing around with this.
I tried all performance enhancing suggestions, including not using Optifine and halfing shadow resolution with no performance effect at all. I also tried disabling HDR, bloom and all other advanced shader settings. The visuals change, but the performance stays about the same no matter what I do.
I'm stuck at ~25 FPS no matter what settings I use. If I don't maximize the game I can pull ~45 FPS but the window is tiny on my huge monitor.
Specs:
Intel i5 2500k
4GB RAM
ATI 4870 HD 1GB running CCC 11.12
Desktop resolution is 1920x1080. Fullscreen mode in Optifine won't work to run fullscreen at a lower res. When trying to switch to a fullscreen resolution the game hangs for a sec as if it's updating settings but nothing happens. I suspect if I could run in true fullscreen instead of just maximized it would help performance quite a bit.
Can we do something for these poor torches? They look soooo depressed........
Guys, think about how Minecraft's lighting system works. Only 16 levels of light per block. Now consider that the shadows that you see have absolutely nothing to do with how Minecraft calculates its lighting. That means that those blocks around those torches are already lit to their maximum, and cannot get any lighter. The only way to fix this would be to create an additional differed lighting system which would lag this mod even more than it does. I doubt it's something that can be fixed gracefully.
Please remember that this mod is free and think about how far it has boosted the visual enjoyment of Minecraft. It's not perfect and it cannot be perfect.
So i installed the lates version, and set the shadow res to 1000 something. And i tried 2000 something too, and this is what i got every time
Does anyone have a solution how to get those awesome shadows seen in the OP?
If you don't see shadows, your video card is not sufficient to create the shadow map. Lowering the shadow resolution is the only solution to this. What gpu are you using?
I have encountered a strange issue, when I start Minecraft it starts fine, but if I try to load a world it loads, enters the world for like a quarter second, and then crashes. No error log, it just closes. Has anyone encountered this before? Also, no amount of tinkering with the settings seems to help.

First Great mod can't play without it :biggrin.gif: . You should add the HDR fix from magicraft in the next update it fix the flickering but it isn't full up to date with 1.103 of your shaders.... http://pastebin.com/hex1nTUC
sometimes i get up to 30-40 fps but now i only get 9-14 fps, i have tried all of the fps tricks like changing stuff around in the composite and final files but nothing seems to work even with vanilla settings it stays the same as improved setteings
im using
Windows 7 64-bit
i7processor 2.9 Ghz
Radeon 5700 series GPU

I would rate this shader 5 of 5

For me I install mods but then I go in the game nothing changed even if it confirmed that the mod is installed.
