It says you have 2 copies of TFC loaded. Wat.
Also did you install them in the right order? It's modloader, forge, TFC core, then TFC texture
Yeah I don't know why its saying that either. Normally everything I do with minecraft I run from magic launcher and that the crash log I get.
After my first try with TFC not working on a fresh minecraft jar, I redownloaded it and started again. Installed modloader/ deleted meta-inf, ran it, installed forge, ran it again, THEN installed TFC core/texture pack and ran it again.
After TFC is in, everything it fine, until I create a new world. Starts normally, but stops at the beginning of the world generation. After about 5-10 minutes it starts again like nothing wrong happened. It continues to finish building the world, until at the end it starts saving chunks for about 10-20 seconds then gives me that crash report.
Edit: Also I forgot to mention that on my other tries I installed it directly to the jar and when I ran it, I made sure to run it with the original minecraft exe, just to make sure.
Lol, this is kind of frustrating because I have been trying to get TFC running for 2 days now. It sounds like it would be worth the trouble in the end if I can get it working. I would ask for a working jar if it wasn't illegal and I wasn't paranoid, lol.

Move everything minecraft related in your Roaming directory to some other place entirely. Run the mojang launcher and start over, cos you've got something funky going on in your directories.
Then do meta-inf, modloader, forge, core, and textures. And see how that works. If it doesn't, you've got bigger problems than minecraft crashing, because that sequence there on an actual clean jar does in fact work.
Found a very interesting terrain formation today... World seed is Terrafirma (yes, I'm rather unoriginal sometimes); the world was created under Beta 2 Pre 34, but this area was generated under Beta 2 Pre 38.
They are made primarily of granite and gabbro, they're surrounding a slightly raised plateau, and they are near a very tall mountain that rises almost straight out of the ground.
i am a geology student and my professor is currently looking for a way to use this mod in class
were looking at the full life cycle of a modern mining project, and so when i saw there was semi realistic prospecting i was
is there any way you could create a "core sample" drill or some other system for better detecting ore deposits? as this would help us use your mod in class for teaching IRL mineral exploration to students
btw this is an incredible mod and much of its content should be added to a game with the name "minecraft" when there really isn t much proper mining involved
something to think about could be some sort of fault line or mineral intrusion that could be seen at the surface and tracked through the earth. this fault when drilled could lead to a mineral vain or balk deposit.
than using a core sample drill, you could take careful samples to detect the best area of ore without spending to much time underground.
in my opinion this is one of the best mods i ve seen in awhile , though my favorite is still the old metallurgy mod by shadowclaimer.

Hmmm... well on my end, I didn't actually run modloader. I just installed each component one after the other, and it's worked marvelously

I have a question/request.
I don't believe it's currently possible to obtain redstone dust with TerraFirmaCraft installed (if I'm wrong please let me know how to).
So would it be possible to replace redstone dust with a "copper wire" item and block, even just temporarily before working on a "real" power system, so that we can use recipes that require redstone and make circuitry?
For those who use magic launcher add modloader, forge, TFCraft-client-core, and TFC-Textures on setup. Near TFCraft-client-core it will say 4 errors and near TFC-Textures it will say no mods found. However it should work.

Find some cinnabar ore, put it in your crafting grid.
I re-downloaded framework 4.0 and repaired mine. Then deleted my whole .minecraft folder and started new. This got it working for me.
It would take a guess that one of my previous mods were mucking things up for me even though they weren't turned on with magic launcher or directly installed.
Yup, like I thought originally. It was something to make me feel stupid over. Also thanks to those who helped me with this. For you people +rep.

Alright, thanks.
I just found something else that could be a bit of a problem though.
Due to the way trees are handled, it would seem you can never earn the "Getting Wood" achievement, and hence all the other achievements are unobtainable too.

not quite all... the inventory one greets me every time i update or install a new mod
that moment when you try to think of a witty and altogether joyful signature but fail miserably and settle for a complaint about not being able to make a signature, although you actually did just create a signature. funny how things work out like that.
this mod already overwrites a lot of classes. maybe he could re do the all the achievements, or tweak how they work so they are possible
do achievments really matter? you lose them every time you update or install a mod, or even switch out jars! once it actually restarted them after changing to an HD texture pack!

They still give you something to work towards. If you're going to switch out jars or install more mods, then you usually aren't sticking with one world. But if you are dedicated to one universe, then achievements give you something of a checklist to do in your Minecraft world. They aren't necessary, but they give you a bit more to do when you get bored of hunting for ore.
As for fixing/redoing the achievement system,
It wouldn't be too hard to fix the one achievement -- ModLoader provides simple methods to earn achievements without needing base edits, so all it would take are a couple of lines that give you the achievement whenever you pick up a log item. However, I'm quite certain that most other achievements would need tweaking at least (notice how pretty much all of them start with crafting a wooden tool?) so a rewrite of them would likely be needed.
EDIT: Congrats on the thread reaching over 4000 posts, bioxx!
Not every added mod requires a new world... nor should changing a texture pack reset anything. The Achievements system needs a bit of an overhaul, but this isn't the place to discuss that.

Not that I comment much but I think an achievement should be marked by, well, a feeling of having achieved something rather than a shiny sticker.
Figuring out to gather flint and become like a neanderthal in order to harvest most blocks (and get wood) on my own was a moment of logic that's so simple to anyone thinking of it from a realistic perspective but so alien to someone accustomed to beating down trees with their fists in a videogame. A sticker telling me I managed to gather wood falls pretty flat compared to how clever I felt trying to make my way through this mod without consulting a guide.
And in the end, I did at least have to look up clues (making charcoal) and outright guides (building a bloomery.)
Still, love this mod; achievements be [darned.]
If they are the necessary sacrifice for editing all those classes that's fine with me. I would much rather have time and energy spend on things meaningful to gameplay, like basically everything this mod does now, than taking the time to fix it so it can tell me I've bludgeoned a cow to death for the first time (on this .jar edit...)
I've followed all the installation instructions I could find exactly. I'm still crashing and the crash report doesn't stay up long enough for me to copy or read it.I'm getting really frustrated because I really want to play this mod. I want to know if it's possible for someone to give me an already modded minecraft.jar because it's simply not working for me and I don't know why. Any help would be appreciated

Take a mansion that looks amazing. Now WorldEdit it into diamond blocks. It looks horrible now, yet some people still say it's amazing. I don't get it.

look up: How to make a minecraft crash report stay up... it will give you some code that will make it "pause"
did u delete meta-inf... and did you use forge .96?
