Lol. Dude. Finding some crazy chasms in this tundra biome. Like almost literally one grass block before a chasm. Creeper blew up and I end up falling about 30+ blocks to my death.
See that tiny bit of sky up there? That's a hole made by a creeper. There's a natural entrance to it, though, in the side of a dirt hill, but the drop's just sheer.
NOTE: Sorry. Used TMI/Creative mode. So yeah. That should explain all the torches.
I used TMI to test if the trees themselves would work right by hacking in the saplings.
Wow sorry about that guys, that's the second time I've borked a release right as I went to bed. It had to do with how I rewrote the biome system so that it wasn't all hard coded. I didn't set the creation variable to -1 initially so when the biomes were setting themselves up, they didn't bother actually choosing the trees to place. so they were passing null instead of a value specifying the tree. Anyways, fixed and the download link has been updated.
Yeah, I mess up a lot when tired, too. In fact my allergy meds are starting to **** up my head right now as we speak.
I end up embarrassing myself a lot when fatigued on the forums and junk. It's best not to do heavy work when asleep.. but then there's the constant feeling if you're doing something (like coding in your case) that you'll forget a certain thing or a certain few things if you take a break.
Can someone help me and tell me how to fix this error? Please I need help!

I have a question about the support/collapse system, if you wouldn't mind answering.
I understand the basics and how it works on horizontal runs, but what about for things like making a stair case down to a horizontal mine shaft.
Do I need to brace each tier on the way down? Or will it not collapse unless the horizontal length is more then 1,2,3 block(s) long?
I've just started my stairs down, I planned on needing supports, but only placed some at the very top, and so far it hasn't collapsed. I could see it being very costly in wood if I need to brace every level.
Can someone help me and tell me how to fix this error? Please I need help!

I'd have to look at the code but I think a support every other level will work fine. At one point(it may still be this way, it's hazy and I'm working on something else atm) The collapse system would check two Y levels for a support in a 5 block radius.

Managed to get a nice spawn point, extremely tall mountains next to a river and forest (consisting of pine and oak trees, mostly).
Stockpiled wood, murdered cows and sheep for future bellows and a bed, and started digging. Dug down to about layer 50, and prospected some bituminous coal, so I started digging around (I still haven't quite gotten down a good method for using it), and eventually found some cassiterite instead. After scaling one of the mountains with a pack full of oak logs, ore and stuff to smelt and forge with, I managed to create my first tin tools.
Just digging out an area for a bloomery and forge inside of a nearby cave now. Hopefully I'll be able to find some more ore soon, although it feels good to have actually found something usable for making tools.
I also noticed how rare saplings drops are now. I tend to only get 1 sapling for every 2-3 trees I punch the leaves off of, so making a self sustaining tree farm isn't possible anymore (unless I'm horribly unlucky). I can understand that bioxx wants us to have to travel (if I recall, he said at some point that he wanted us to have a use for minecarts and rails), though. I personally would prefer around 1 sapling per tree (or a bit shy of it so we do have to go out and replenish our stockpile of saplings occasionally), but that's just me. Or, could increase growth time, like Decrayer said.
One last thing before I end this rather long post - I have encountered a rather... strange glitch with making support beams (vertical or horizontal, doesn't matter). I use ash logs to try to craft some, and the resulting beams are made of oak (the beams are of a reddish tinge as well). Upon placing one, the stack I just took one from changes to ash beams (and changes to a white/gray colored beam), but the one I placed is still oak/reddish colored. Breaking it and taking it back makes it change to ash as well. Very odd.
Also, trying to stack two different types of beam (I believe I did this with a single pine beam and 2-3 ash beams) causes the one you drop onto the stack to turn into the same type of beam as the stack. None of this is a really big issue, but it's kinda odd nonetheless.
First of all, the sapling rate has been lowered for a reason, although you are all correct, I am going to give it a slight boost in the next patch.
Whenever I get to it, saplings are going to have to retrieved using a certain tool instead of breaking leaves similar to how it works in Wurm Online if any of you have played it. I've rewritten the lumberjack system as well for the next patch. Most of the "tree not falling" issues should go away.
As to the axes issue, I tested every single axe type and not a single one gave me the disappearing axes issue. Perhaps I inadvertently fixed in my working copy and didn't realize it.
As for the issue with supports dropping the wrong types, I've spent the last 2 hours or so rewriting the support placement code. The next version will have fixes for them. Hopefully that will be the last that I'll have to do with them.
@VBogach2 You failed to install guava or TFC Game correctly. Please read the install instructions carefully.
I had also thought that maybe you were introducing a specific tool for harvesting saplings from trees, I then promptly forgot about it until I read your reply >.<
The disappearing axe issue I had fairly early on - I never tried to reproduce it since I found that by placing the (stone) axe in the bottom rightmost corner of the crafting table's grid, I never had any issues with it. I'll try crafting more with the axe in different slots and see if that makes anything weird happen.
Like I said before, you're doing an awesome job, bioxx this is probably one of the most enjoyable mods I've ever played (and certainly the first one I've posted so much on, I tend to just lurk).
Edit: Crafted more planks with the axe at various spots on the crafting table grid, it's working fine now. Must've been an older accidental fix, unless it was with a different type of stone axe (I did notice there were several sets of stone tools in creative mode).
Edit #2: Went into creative mode and tried all four mod variants of the stone axe. Vanilla stone axe wouldn't function at all (unsurprisingly), other four mod ones worked fine, although it seemed like they have different durabilities (some of the axes' green bar is slightly shorter than others). Might just be me, unsure.
You're correct about the durability differences Link_Olaran. The Rock type that you make the tool out of defines the quality of the tool. Harder rocks such as Igneous extrusive will last longer than softer types like Sedimentary rock. It's just a minor detail that adds a little flavor to the world imo.
Fascinating, I never noticed it before. Guess the smart thing to do would just be to use the harder types of rock for tools and softer ones for building purposes - although, the difference between the tools isn't extremely large
This also explains why my stone tools seemed to break a little faster than normal, my base is dug into a sedimentary layer.
Everyone should try to learn something new every day, even if it's small!
Currently Gems do not have a use, in fact the entire gem system will need an overhaul before I put them to use in an overhaul of the enchanting system.
As far as saplings. I do want you to have to replant your forests, with the exception of Kapok's and Sequoias as I've said. The main reason for not allowing them to be replanted is because theres no real way to say "this sapling can't grow for at least 1 week". Saplings have a chance to grow every single time that they receive a tick by the game which happens every 14(?) seconds or so. So you might get lucky and have a Kapok grow 10 seconds after you plant it. Happens all the time for me in vanilla. To me that ruins immersion and the feel that I'm trying to deliver with this mod.
As far as a config file for variables like that is concerned, that is definitely doable and something that I've been meaning to get around to anyways.
loki93, when did you download the latest version? if it was more then like 8 hours ago, that version had a nasty bug which I've since corrected.
If you have downloaded it more recently then that, then I suggest you go here. press the little clipboard icon above the code to copy it and place that in a new .bat file and run it. It will launch minecraft with an error reporting console popped up. That should show you the error message.
See that tiny bit of sky up there? That's a hole made by a creeper. There's a natural entrance to it, though, in the side of a dirt hill, but the drop's just sheer.

Hnnngh. So basically TFCraft is going to end up being Metallurgy on steroids combined with FarmCraftory on crank. With gravity.
