Hello; I encountered this rather random, yet world-breaking bug with this mod for 1.8
I was digging up one of those stone ore pillars from the ruins mod, when I stepped on a redstone ore, my game crashed and the MultiMC Log spit out this error:
/ Ooh. Shiny.
Time: 10/7/15 4:46 AM
Description: Unexpected error

(I wonder if these two not being the same version number could have caused the crash?)
FML: 8.0.99.99
MCP: 9.0.5
MCForge: 11.14.3.1450
When I would attempt to re-load the world, it would instantly crash.
The only way I managed to fix and recover the world was to open the level.dat in NBTExplorer and move my player position back to the last bed I used.
The strange part is; I sense returned to the same area that crashed me, and punched the redstone ore that caused the crash, and it didn't crash me this time.
For reference, the following spoiler contains the list of ALL MODS in this MultiMC Instance:
Hello. I want to report i about a broplem i have. I was plaing at a costum modpack that i made for my self . but one day I tried to load my world and I could not go in it . I said to my luncher to stay oppen and i see that it was giving me this cruch report "[:020:457] [Server thread/ERROR] [FML]: The following problems were captured during this phase

my world file was doing it for some reason . I deleted the "Ender Storage" folder folder from in my save folder and now i have my world back with the mod in . i jut have to replace all the chests................. and remake all the putches........ thnks god there is creative
I found a duplication bug with the latest version of EnderStorage and Railcraft. If you have more than one of the same Ender tank in your hand and right click a valve on a formed Railcraft multi-block tank (can be empty or not), it will duplicate the Endertank.
im trying to install not enough items with forge 1.8 and it crashes halfway thru launching.
the only mods in my mod folder are the tmi mod and the codechickencore thingy.
what do i do?!

A detailed walkthrough of the error, its code path and all known details is as follows:

try downgrading NEI and CCC from the latest to the recommended for 1.7.10.
there could be some add-on for NEI that doesn't work with the absolute latest.
Hey, Robijnvogel! Since there seems to be frequent crashes with the null thingy [for not existing a recipe of some mod] why don't you implement in the GUI something that can avoid the crash. A message like: "No recipe lolz". Like when you trying to find a file in your pc and it says: No results. Could that be possible?

When I hover over an empty space in my survival inventory or over the tabs on creative inventory, this error spams in my console. I haven't had the game actually crash because of it, but I get the idea that this would probably cause a crash if I just ignored it. Any clue what might be causing this? I'm using the most recent versions of CCC & NEI for 1.8.

So I've had the Not Enough Items Mod for a while now, and when I load it up now, the Inventory GUI doesn't load up, but the mod still works. (I press R in the Creative menu and it shows how to craft said item) Any help; as this is very annoying which is making me want to delete the mod.
for some reason, in 1.7.x the default setting for the inventory GUI is set to world override and is set to not show anything.
you'll have to adjust that setting in every world.
@Kye, I guess you set your global settings to not show NEI somewhere in the past. I'd suggest you change that, so you do not have to override and change that setting in every world.
I would like to use this opportunity to once again complain about the poor counter-intuitive way that the NEI options menu is set up. If only the world menu and the global menu had a title at the top that told which of the two you were actually in, that would make things so much clearer. I haven't and will never be able to remember if the "global" on the button in the right upper corner means that the button will lead to the global settings, or that you are actually inside the global settings. It seems to be the latter, while the former looks more logical to me.

Hi! First I wanna thanks ChickenBones for this awesome mod without wich I couldn't simply play modded Minecraft.
I really love this mod. So I wanna be able to use and understand it 100%.
Now I wanna share a discovery I made after struggling for hours, and ask questions.
I quiet easily figured out how to enable cheat mode with the World Override setting, thanks to many comments about this issue. I wish it was in th description of the mod though. It's really good, but seems outdated now.
I was very confused about the difference between Cheat Mode and Utility Mode. I was still able to cheat items from the NEI inventory, even though I changed it with the world override stuff.
Also, disabling Utility buttons from the settings didn't change anything back in the NEI inventory screen, even with world override enabled for them.
The utility buttons settings are only relevant with the utility mode. So they should disappear from the settings when you swith to cheat or recipe mode, or display a tooltip explaining that.
Then, I was thinking that the 3 last buttons (enchants, potions and items) of the utility buttons settings would display or hide buttons from NEI, as the 5 first ones (weather, time, heal, magnet and trash can).
Werheas the 3 last ones enable features, which are not toggleable by buttons in NEI inventory, instead of the 5 first ones. These two parts of the Utility settings should be distinct from each other, to be less confusing, or display a tooltip or something.
In the settings, there's a button which remains a total mystery to me, the Gamemode button (the one in the Utility row, not the ones of the Gamemode row. It's disabled (dark grey), and clicking it doesn't do anything, no matter what is the mode. What is it for?
BUG or not ? I can't save items Subset. The description says to right click on the Items subset button (now called NEI subsets), but nothing happens when I do so.
Thanks for your answer!
That's a shame. I wish I could remove some items like the spawners from the items list since it's not craftable, to make it shorter and cleaner. Is there any other way to do that?
Do you know what is the C button in the utilities buttons?
Hello; I encountered this rather random, yet world-breaking bug with this mod for 1.8
I was digging up one of those stone ore pillars from the ruins mod, when I stepped on a redstone ore, my game crashed and the MultiMC Log spit out this error:

http://pastebin.com/DK397ejd
NEI Mod Version: 1.0.5.82
Code Chicken Core Version: 1.0.5.34

Everyone has O.C.D. and A.D.H.D. and Autism and so on its just a matter of how much that makes people say you have it...
I have all 3 where people will say i have them... people hate on me for it...
Heres more accurate explanations of each:
O.C.D. makes you hate not symmetrical things if you have alot and youll tend to repeat things in a specific pattern and hate slight change...
A.D.H.D. makes you be extremely into one specific thing while also connecting things like a cat to radiation...
Autism is literally a label that people use as insults to people who are really good at math and science related things and love those things...

I might have not posted it right.
I found a duplication bug with the latest version of EnderStorage and Railcraft. If you have more than one of the same Ender tank in your hand and right click a valve on a formed Railcraft multi-block tank (can be empty or not), it will duplicate the Endertank.
Mods:
Nei 1.0.5.118
CodeChickenCore 1.0.7.47
Railcraft 9.7.0.0
EnderStorage 1.4.7.37
Forge 10.13.4.1517
im trying to install not enough items with forge 1.8 and it crashes halfway thru launching.
the only mods in my mod folder are the tmi mod and the codechickencore thingy.
what do i do?!

try downgrading NEI and CCC from the latest to the recommended for 1.7.10.
there could be some add-on for NEI that doesn't work with the absolute latest.
then try going through your MC folder and delete everything associated with NEI, outside the mods folder. look in your wold save folders as well.

It didn't work for me D:
Try pressing "O".
for some reason, in 1.7.x the default setting for the inventory GUI is set to world override and is set to not show anything.
you'll have to adjust that setting in every world.
had this happen on a fresh install.
Thanks for reading!
Hi! Could you please help me!
Is it possible to download NEW for old version of Forge (10.13.2.1263)?
I want to play Gregtech 5 (because GT6 is prealpha yet and have only crucible and molds for now), and old version of GT conflicts with new forge.
But it is too hard and strange to play GT without NEI.
[It is classical tiny example of Dependency hell]
Best regards, Sim.
UPD:
It is not possible to download from official site, but I downloaded that old files from curse.

Thanks for your answer!
That's a shame. I wish I could remove some items like the spawners from the items list since it's not craftable, to make it shorter and cleaner. Is there any other way to do that?
Do you know what is the C button in the utilities buttons?
