keep in mind if an item has multiple variation ( metadata ) for example wool and you want to hide a specific color it might appear to work but it won't and will hide all wool colors
to put it as simply as possible with MineTweaker you can either hide items that doesn't have metadata or hide all of that item variation , if you want to hide a specific item with metadata and keep the one or two of it's variation then you need to use Inpure Core
PS : NEI.hide doesn't work in Inpure Core only NEI.override works
Where thatd be good, for the 2 mods im looking to use, id still be writing the script when 1.7.10 would become obsolete as 1 mod has pages an pages of items i dont want displayed and the other has a few. is there any other way to hide?

if the item has different variation ( for example Extra Utilities x64 generators ) but have the the same item name then
NEI.hide(<mod:itemname:*>); will hide all of that item including the base item/block.
if each item has a different name then you need to add them one by one ( you can use NEI dump function ) or type /mt hand in the chat box then hit enter , and the item that you are currently holding name will be copied to the clipboard so you can paste it in a notepad ( i recommended Mine Menu to easily execute /mt hand command or press / in your keyboard then hit arrow up to access the last used command )
if you want to keep 1 or more items and hide all the rest ( as long as they all share the same itemname ) use Inpure Core
NEI.override("mod:itemname", [0, 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9]); , where the numbers are the damage values ( metadata ) that you want to be shown and the others will be hidden from NEI.
or if you want to hide everything in a mod that have damage values higher than 0 then create a script with Inpure Core
NEI.override("ExtraUtilities:*", [0]);
this will hide every item & block in Extra Utilities that has a damage value more than 0
keep in mind that hiding or overriding items/blocks in NEI doesn't meant that they can't be crafted it just hidden from NEi but the player can still craft it if he knows the recipe. for Recipe Removal you need to use MineTweaker
Alright I am pulling my hair out here... I cant get NEI to work in a pack I am creating for myself. Its driving me crazy. I haveForge
Version 10.13.4.1472 and
NEI 1.7.10-1.0.3.74-dev and
Codechickencore 1.7.10.1.0.4.29-dev.
I dont really knw how to red a crash log but here it is.

can you please fix the latest version of ForgeMultipart so i can use microblock on "Pillar Quartz" ?
even the latest: 344 is not working with "Pillar quartz". so please fix it. i have asked this again and again and again. so far.. no fixing.. whats going on?
I updated CCC, NEI, and Ender Storage to the latest versions to try and fix this issue, but I'm now getting a completely different crash when attempting to use NEI.
Google searching is turning up very few results, but seems to suggest the problem is with the current version of CCC somehow. Beyond that, I'm stumped. I can't downgrade CCC and NEI because that would force me to downgrade Ender Storage as well, and then I'd be right back where I started.
How can I fix this without reverting back to the versions that had the Ender Tank crash???
On the NEI craftguide a have a resource pack installed that provides a different gui, so that part is displayed where the crafting grid is, while the rest of it is the default mc gui. Could you put your own default texture with the crafting grid, so that i'm not seeing two different textures?

Crash Report
Upon looking at the Ender Tank it causes your game to disconnect from the internal server, no crash-report, nothing in the logs. In the little bit of time I could look at it before it freaked out, it looked like it was rendering fire behind it?
EDIT: After posting I realized looking back at the thread would be a good idea, and I am now updating WAILA and such.
EDIT2: I have fully updated WAILA and NEI Addons. I do not have NEI Plugins or MobiusCore. Problem persists.
I downloaded the NEI mod. I run on Forge and when I tried to craft a crafting table on the 4x4 player crafting it crashed. This happened right after I downloaded the mod and now I can't see the NEI gui like the item search box, save states, or anything ,but I can still see the recipe view.

Arduous https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/arduous-lost-wasteland
You've awoken on this barren wasteland planet, a civilization once ruled and proud, but where is everyone? All the buildings are empty, nothing remains, all that can be seen is mass hordes in all directions of zombies, skeletons and other creatures never before seen. Inside isn't safe, Outside isn't safe, what will u do to survive this planet and escape? Can you survive the 1st day without death claiming you?
There is no natural light, when night time comes it's pitch black, no moon light and all that is heard is the scratching and moaning of whats around lurking to destroy you. Mining reveals unbeknownst horrors from the rocks just waiting to come out and devour your soul. Puddles of liquid blue or purple are not water, but also intent on harming you.
if the item has different variation ( for example Extra Utilities x64 generators ) but have the the same item name then
NEI.hide(<mod:itemname:*>); will hide all of that item including the base item/block.
if each item has a different name then you need to add them one by one ( you can use NEI dump function ) or type /mt hand in the chat box then hit enter , and the item that you are currently holding name will be copied to the clipboard so you can paste it in a notepad ( i recommended Mine Menu to easily execute /mt hand command or press / in your keyboard then hit arrow up to access the last used command )
if you want to keep 1 or more items and hide all the rest ( as long as they all share the same itemname ) use Inpure Core
NEI.override("ExtraUtilities:*", [0]);
this will hide every item & block in Extra Utilities that has a damage value more than 0
keep in mind that hiding or overriding items/blocks in NEI doesn't meant that they can't be crafted it just hidden from NEi but the player can still craft it if he knows the recipe. for Recipe Removal you need to use MineTweaker
how to save my favorite item using NEI just like TMI?

Using Forge 1448, latest version mods available

can you please fix the latest version of ForgeMultipart so i can use microblock on "Pillar Quartz" ?
even the latest: 344 is not working with "Pillar quartz". so please fix it. i have asked this again and again and again. so far.. no fixing.. whats going on?
So, about that issue with Ender Tanks...

How can I fix this without reverting back to the versions that had the Ender Tank crash???
...And there it is! That was, indeed, the problem.
Thanks for the lightning-quick response there. Was worried it'd be a while before I could get this sorted.
On the NEI craftguide a have a resource pack installed that provides a different gui, so that part is displayed where the crafting grid is, while the rest of it is the default mc gui. Could you put your own default texture with the crafting grid, so that i'm not seeing two different textures?
There are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

CodeChickenCore and NotEnoughItems will not download for me?
No issues here downloading.
I double checked each mod in turn, after each adfly (obviously) i was able to save each mod one at a time.
I'd say issue on your end - either browser or settings for which only you can resolve yourself.
Both are recommended versions, how would I go about solving an OpenGL issue?
EDIT: Is EnderStorage for latest 1.7.10 Forge?
Anyone know where I might find some documentation explaining each of the NEI config options?
Tooltips.
I downloaded the NEI mod. I run on Forge and when I tried to craft a crafting table on the 4x4 player crafting it crashed. This happened right after I downloaded the mod and now I can't see the NEI gui like the item search box, save states, or anything ,but I can still see the recipe view.
