I sincerely hope chickenbone isn't serious about delaying a week every time someone nags him about a new update, or any troll could set back the release of an update indefinitely.

I agree, it was a bad decision. It should at least be in super big bold text at the top so anyone who legitimately wants to know when it'll be updated wont ask.

I seriously doubt it. If he is going to then it would delay it well into November and by that point it would be probably replaced.
He's probably working on it now. It might be more difficult because of the lack of coremods now. No idea though.
Core mods aren't gone. They were merged into the normal mods folder to reduce stupid-user tricks.
Right, but they're probably handled differently now too. The way mods are initialized changed a bit. I'm sure there are some things that need to be done in order for a "coremod" to work correctly in it's new home.
Can I ask for an ETA?(Yes, I DID read the entire FAQ(well actually EAQ), and I DO understand that asking for an update will only delay the update, but it can't hurt to ask for an ETA, right? )
Look at the timestamp from your post and add a week.

The Forge changelog says the only changes were they now go in the regular mods folder
I'm learning modding now (finally found something to interest me enough to finish learning Java for my resume). Don't know about coremods yet, but Forge seems to have hooks for almost everything... and documentation for almost nothing. Typical programmers--we hate writing documentation enough when people pay us to do it, and when we're programming for fun.. yeah, no. Unfortunately, it makes it painful for someone else to come along and figure out what the heck you're supposed to do to make some obscure thing happen.
Right, but they're probably handled differently now too. The way mods are initialized changed a bit. I'm sure there are some things that need to be done in order for a "coremod" to work correctly in it's new home.
Having just updated my own core mods to 1.6.2, I can promise you that nothing about them has changed. The only difference is that now they don't have their own special folder, which I think it is a great idea.
My guess is either he has irl things going on, which is fine, or that it's the changes to rendering that are going to be his biggest problems. Just my guesses though, I'm sure he'll get it updated soon, he's pretty good about NEI at least.
Your mods (code-chicken-core & NEI) is imposable for me to download, when I watch someone download your 2 mods they get 1 file each to put in the coremods folder but when I download the 2 mods I get a ton of files and I don't know what to do with them... ',:(

Fair enough. Things just take time I guess. A lot of mods haven't updated. This is really no different than any other MC update.

I downgraded to 1.5.1 to install Aether 2, at the same time I also installed NEI. When I first started playing, I opened my inventory and items wasnt there, I pressed o to make pop up, still wasnt there. Help?
Alright, I know this may sound a little extreme, but the way to get rid of the update posts would be for the forum moderator to simply delete them when they show up. I'm recognizing a pattern with people that ask for updates. They seem to have only 2-3 posts, and possibly 5 at the max. This means that 1) either some people are creating accounts on this forum just to ask for updates without reading Chickenbone's warnings on the matter, or 2), obeying orders is not something they even think about. Like I said, deleting these posts sounds harsh, and to implement such an idea is probably next to impossible, but maybe it would solve the problem. Who knows?

As a moderator on MMO-Champion, I will say this amount of work would be way too much to ask. Asking a moderator to remove that many posts and maintain it would probably be a full time job. If there are rules against it then infractions can be given, but generally speaking, in my experience, removing posts is a last resort.
I really don't see the big deal with the occasional post asking about updates. It's bound to happen as some users, especially newer ones may not read the entire OP or read anyone's posts after it. If it really is Chickenbones intention to delay the mod a week every time someones asks then I think that's pretty immature. He should really just learn to ignore it as it's not that big of a deal.
