VERY IMPORTANT: For those of us still on 1.5.1/2, can you restore the link to your site and keep the old recipes up? Or place recipes in the first message of the thread as most do (It took me months to realize bows were possible--I had to notice them in the config file!) Many of us are not throwing away worlds that we've invested a lot of time and effort in, and need access to the prior version's information.
ALSO, HELP? The silver bow gives me the "Image Not Found" default, even though it's right there in the mod file. Bug? I'm doing something wrong? What? The rods show when I make them, so I know that works....
EDIT: Also, please check the defense value for Adamantium boots in the table. It seems oddly low -- less than diamond or mythril. Don't know if it's a chart error or not.
I added the previous version links, sorry about that.
As for the bows, I take it you mean in the 1.5 version of SimpleOres? Because that is strange, I never encountered that error. Maybe try redownloading the 1.5 version (now that the links are up :P).
As for adamantium boots, they are meant to be just lower than diamond, however I agree it does seem strange that they are lower than mythril, but oh well. Promotes mixing and matching I suppose?
Why do I get grappling hooks when I should get copper and tin ores?
This is an ID conflict with another mod. Whatever mod you have that adds grappling hooks has the same IDs as the copper and tin, so it will need to be configured with a Config provided by either SimpleOres or the other mod.

Thank you for the quick response! What about the 1.5 recipes, though? Aside from Silver bows, I think a couple of other bow recipes changed (if not, I'll find out soon; have more onyx and will try to make them. Thought there was an Adamantium bow?)

There's no adamantium bow and I can probably put the older recipes up somewhere, yes.
I'm not sure if this has been asked already but will be making a netherrocks 2? Not to rush you on updating the mod or anything just wondering if you were going to do the same with netherrocks.

And somewhere in all of that I need to get work done on Netherrocks. It has been rather neglected with all the work being done on SimpleOres but hopefully that will change. As for a Netherrocks 2, it's unlikely to be the first update for 1.6. In fact, it might not come til 1.7, if at all. The main reason SimpleOres went to 2 was because I wanted to go open source and change the structure and neatness of the code significatly, along with adding more content. While Netherrocks will eventually go open source, and I will need to tidy the code, it won't be yet
I'm going to cross-post this to the other mod thread, too, because I don't know which mod is the problem here. I have a small mod compatibility issue:
with Multi-Colored Things v2.4.2, oak planks create generic sticks, spruce planks create spruce sticks, birch planks create birch sticks, jungle planks create jungle sticks. All types of sticks will create vanilla tools & weapons (or colored wood ones if that options is turned on)
With Simple Ores 2 v1.0.1, I can create copper, tin, etc. tools with generic sticks. However, spruce, birch & jungle sticks do not work in the Simple Ores 2 tool recipes; I cannot create copper tools with birch sticks, for example.
My guess is that one or both modules is not using the Forge oreDictionary properly, or someone isn't wildcarding their metadata in ItemStacks. Hopefully y'all can straighten that out; even though oak wood is the commonest, having a stack of birch that I can't use for tool handles is annoying.
Could be the other mod from the sounds of it. Myabe there not using the Forge Dictionary for sticks (if theres such a thing) so its not working with this mod.

Like neros said. Basically, I can't plan for everything, I didn't add recipes to use "oreDictionary sticks". I didn't even think they existed. If the other mod adds their sticks to the oreDictionary, then I can change it so that SimpleOres tools use an oreDictionary entry for "stick". I suppose that is one downside to creating a mod like they have - everyone has to adapt their recipes if they want the mods to cooperate like that.
So find out if the mod author has his new sticks in the ore dictionary and I'll add support for it. The reason it doesn't already work is because I never though sticks would be something in the ore dictionary.
Yeah sticks.... I just realized that the Natura mod has sticks too but, barely messed with the mod since I added it to my server but, forgot it has sticks in it too and knowing the mod author (same one that made Tinker's Construct) its probably in the oreDirectory. Its been added to treecapitator as well thankfully; wished your mods were.

SimpleOres axes can be manually added to treecapitator, but I'll get in contact and see if they can be added natively

Yeah its just a slight pain to do it as I need to learn the formatting since they changed it again since I originally set it in 1.5.2 before the new format in 1.5.2. I happen to see a few people posting there about your mods as well with other places when I google it so its safe to say your mods are fairly well known.
Im liking it. Maybe you should make it to where a stone pickaxe can't mine iron, but copper can. It would make it seem more primary for copper. I also like the alloys. Do you plan to add new alloys in the future? If so, perhaps mixing a few vanilla materials with them would be a good idea, or alloys of alloys (Like two alloys but in a fusion furnace) You can at least add a couple more while still keeping it simple. Edit: Also, since the Fusion furnace takes a lot of fuel, perhaps you can have some more efficient fuels (Doesn't have to be an ore.)
Assuming the entries at http://www.minecraft.../Ore_dictionary are correct, vanilla/generic sticks are "woodStick" in the Ore Dictionary. Checking the source code, Forge initializes Item.stick to "stickWood" in the Ore Dictionary.
I've recently fused my first batch of bronze, and I noticed that fusing ores does not generate XP, as does smelting. Is this something you have chosen not to do? Given the game days and resources for a stack of bronze (a stack of redstone dust) to be made, it seems reasonable.
Loving the mod! It's forced me to explore out past previously explored areas so I can harvest the ores.
I think there is something wrong with mine. I'm not able to smelt tin ore at all and when I smelt the copper ore I get tin ingots instead of copper. I downloaded Craft guide to try and see what was going on and it's showing that the only way for me to get copper ingots is to smelt a copper bucket. Is there any way I would be able to fix this? I downloaded it for the mac if that makes any difference.
I guess I must have somehow looked over the update... Thanks anyway, great mod.
I have noticed a small bug. When you get a skeleton with a simple ores bow to attack another skeleton it doesn't actually shoot at it. Instead it attacks with the bow itself.
Also simple ore is not compatible with timber! mod. if you use a simple ores axe with the timber! mod installed then instead of all the wood breaking then only the block you used it on breaks. I personally stopped using the timber! mod a few days ago since I was only testing to see if I liked it but I thought id mention it.

Timber mod only lets you configure the logs or the axes only (can't remember which one) so you should try and use the TreeCapitator mod instead as it allows for both to be configured. Hopefully AleXndrTheGr8st will be able to get the author of TreeCapitator to add the axes from both his mods by default.

Um, no. Not unless it is configurable. I don't like mods nerfing vanilla functionality.
