Looks great, Codegreen. Nice to know you're still working on this. I know it's not easy with all of the crazy MC updates etc, so thanks for updating us on your progress.
Perhaps, when everything will be new, the bedrock-block could be changed against obsidian.
I hope the new miner will not "overwrite" the stairs when he tries to walk them up or down, like the old version did sometimes.
The miner was the most buggy worker. Its a good thing that you start updating with the most complicated worker.
As it is a complete rewrite, and seeing the state it has now, in my opinion this will still take a long time to a playable miner-beta version.

I've already fix most the bugs your talking about =) and yes it is a long way from playable, but moving along good and fast.
Merry Christmas!!! Here is a Alpha release, This is not finish, but is playable!! http://adf.ly/GRDGw for minecraft 1.4.5 http://adf.ly/GTI2t for Minecraft 1.4.6 (Sorry)
this is a 100% rewrite of all code!!!
Things not finished or missing
No tool is need to summon, just click with anything
Great! It does something. I wanted it to mine in direction S and set the mw-block down. I clicked the front while I faced S. The worker summoned 5m E from the block (to the left of my avatar) and started walking in direction E. It made some stairs leading downwards to a lake and tiled it like mose. Then it flattened the landscape on level 61, while making its way towards East. The road it makes is 11 blocks (or m) wide. It won't go deeper.
When repeating the process (killing the block and replacing it) the worker overwrote the stairs. Another try - anonter overwriting of stairs.
Regretably it doesn't go deeper and mines something valuable.

it mines for about 49 blocks then goes deeper, also try to place it on a flat area, not some where over a lake
Best howto download ever!!!
Atm it is not only Modloader but also Forge-Modloader compatible.
So it works with either Forge or ML installed (not both!).

Sorry. My map isn't flat. But it is fun anyway. NOW I have a flat portion of land. I immediatly built a cobble-factory on it...
Hey guys, happy new years and heres my new website. its not finish but some stuff works. http://miceheaven.com/
also, you can now email me at: [email protected]
Just a suggestion, I LOVE the mod but I think you could perharps add a GUI or something where we can command him to dig to the desired direction and make him mine straight instead of going down, mining 49 blocks or something and going down again :3
EDIT: Or maybe limit the layer you want him to mine?
He would then go mining as it is right now and then stay at, let's say, layer 13.
So ive installed and uninstalled this multiple times and no matter what i do i cannot get this to work. I have followed the steps exactly and other mods ive installed have worked. When i go into the game and create the mice worker it tells me that the block is unnamed 171 and its just a single block no chests or signs accompany it. This mod looks great and i would love if someone could help me get it up and running.
I hope the new miner will not "overwrite" the stairs when he tries to walk them up or down, like the old version did sometimes.
