I'm pretty sure journeymap maps based on your texturepack so whatever texturepack you are currently using, journeymap will use it for generating its map.
ive got a suggestion , can you add texture pack support like for example sphax to the mod like in voxek map?
I've had reports that Spax 128 doesn't work well with the way JourneyMap derives map colors. Not sure if the 64 size works. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I'm working on a way to let you have a custom color palette that will stay the same when you change texture packs, hopefully ready to release in a week or two.
I'm getting a pretty severe amount of errors with a couple of my mods (I actually maintain).
It's throwing Null Pointer Exceptions.

I noticed that lycanite's mobs just show up as a Mojang logo on them map, which makes it really hard to guess what they even are. Do mods have to add something specific to support this?

When a non-vanilla mob shows up, you can look for the placeholder icon here:
.minecraft/journeyMap/custom/
Just replace it with one of your own choosing and restart.
If you want to share an iconset for a mod, just PM me and I'll make it available for download and give you credit.

Here's a tip for the good people. There is set of tools for D&D call Rtools. One of these tools is called Token Tool which is used to make tokens for computer D&D boards. The tool works perfectly for this and is extremely easy to use. Took me just about 30 seconds to make a token for doggy talent mod.
All you need is a good picture to turn into a icon. If you can't find one you can just take a screen shot in game of the mob in creative.
im running a server for myself and my wife, but on the server automap is disabled, how do i get this enabled on the server cause i have more explored than the map shows and i want to rebuild to show it all
How do we change keyboard bindings? You use B, for example, which conflicts with Tinker's Construct and other mods. Also, my map is stuck in nighttime mode, the Ctrl+[ and Ctrl+] keys do nothing, and it randomly changes from day to night while I'm playing.

Automap only works in singleplayer, since it requires access to the World NBT files.
However, you can do this:
Copy your server's world folder to singleplayer, then play+automap it.
When you're done, copy the /journeyMap/data/sp/(worldname) contents to your /journeymap/data/mp/(servername) folder.
You'll now have a complete map when you connect to your server again.

You can change the keybindings via Minecraft>Options>Controls
However: there's a keybinding bug in 4.0.x that will be fixed in 4.1. It causes duplicate key bindings when you open any of the JourneyMap>Options>Help dialogs (the ones that show the current keybindings). If that happens, you need to remove the duplicate lines in .minecraft/options.txt
This may be why the keys aren't working for you right now. Check options.txt or look for a bunch of duplicate (red) controls in Minecraft>Options>Controls.
By default, the map changes between day/night at sunrise and sunset. Once you override that (in a session), it won't switch anymore.
Thank you for the quick reply, Techbrew. My wife's PC broke, so I've been using a split-screen mod (Joypad) to let us both play on my computer. It changes the control menu, so I couldn't see your settings. I've since found the vanilla menu, and all is well.
is it possible to offset the minimap? I like to have my minimap in the topright corner, but I don't want it to be completely stuck in the corner, but a bit away from it. but I can also imagine people who'd like to have their minimap at another exact location.
