As to robbylee's problem, it may be that either your mod or Minecraft think that the item(s) are trying to be removed from the inventory because of a cyclical code (one program does one thing the other program does another...). Personally, given what this mod does for us vs simple division... I prefer this mod.
(Oh, and you may want to mention on your list of installation instructions that with certain mod packs editing the Jar is unnecessary and to follow their instructions for Jar editing mods)
Yeah, this mod is broken to the point of unusable, no doubt.
Inventory Tweaks is now my inventory manager. It offers some really awesome features on the side, like switching out tools just before they break to avoid losing your super-enchanted items. And auto-refill your stacks on your hotbar when building. And three different ways to sort your stacks in chests.
I LOVED CI while it lasted, but I just got tired of waiting for fixes.
So in testing this issue, i have found that only drops items if i'm moving the mouse when I click. If i'm careful enough to click without moving the mouse, then the item is dropped in the slot without issue. This tells me that the issue is with the relatively new feature by which you can divide up a stack by clicking and dragging the mouse across several item slots. I have even managed to repeat the bug without CI running. (it was extremely rare without the mod running) so please check into the new sliding mouse to split stacks feature and see if that is conflicting with your mods command to put the item in the slot. I.E we accidentally activate the stack split just a fraction of a second before your mod decides the item went into the slot, hence the two conflict and the item ends up on the floor. please note that currently with your mod on, the dividing of the stacks happens in the inventory but as soon as the mouse button is let go, all the split items drop on the ground.

The third parameter used to represent 1 or 0 if the SHIFT key is pressed,. now it actually checks for a value of 5 - which seems to represent someone placing an item into a slot too quickly/clumsily. CI only checks for 1 or 0. Changed the method that calls CI from GuiContainer as follows (commented out ==1):
Then changed some other stuff in CI's class, minor stuff - works like a charm - couldn't be happier with the mod.
So...um....i'm not like on the dev team for this, don't have access to any repos -
so w/ the authors permission I could upload the zip I'm using as a preliminary bootleg test version or something, or if I could get access to a repo I could fork the changes in there so you could see them. Let me know...
Like I said, not a lot of changes for the fix, just hard as hell to troubleshoot it - as for 1.5.2 it compiled w/o issue. More than I can say for other mods...

man i downloaded and loaded the minecraft CI12 for 1.5.2 ...but when i opened minecraft .. its still fine but when u clicked the world or the server .. it loads then bam ! black screen then it says minecraft error :/

put class files in fresh minecraft.jar, deleted meta-inf... started a new world. ticking entity & crash report... repeat & ticking entities causing crashes. & a full error report to you, my friend. (same thing happens if connecting to server)

Please consider open sourcing this mod with the MIT license or similar (this will allow forks without permission) - it's been through a number of maintainers and it seems a bit stalled. If it's free/open source it will up the chance that someone will be able to update the mod when needed.
I'm working on the update, however I don't have the permission to release it open source. I want to have everything working right before I release it, and I'm just not there yet.
