This is a fantastic mod as it is, it vastly improves the first camera view and I'm happy to use it 'as is'.
The only thing that I'm bothered about is the problem with Optifine, it's no biggy though.
Keep up the good work with this and don't feel pressured into releasing an update, I know what it's like to get burned out from making content.
The fact you've released a version compatible with the current release of Minecraft is enough for now and people should just accept it, test it and provide feedback on bugs that haven't been already noted.
can you please make this mod compatible whit modloader and forge.. (forge is glitchy sometimes)
Sorry but without minecraft forge I'll have to edit a bunch of base classes which would mean that there would be more compatibility problems, not to mention that I'll have to maintain a separate project for Modloader version. However, as I said before, if making a separate version for Modloader is desirable, I'll make a separate download for Modloader but I'd advise you to not count on it.
Mod runs perfect for me. But there's one thing that annoys me. The problem that you can look trough walls has a good solution, but it's also active with non-solid blocks. For example, when climbing a ladder you can't move your head. Same problem with vines, torches,...
Maybe a glitch that can be fixed in the next update?
what i meand whith "nevermind ive fixed it" was that i couldn't install the mod. but i used the mods folder instead the coremods folder
- Death
I see. But for the next version, I'd recommend putting it in coremods folder though. There are some changes in the code that may make it not work when it's installed in mods folder.
I've discovered an other glitch..
when in first person in multiplayer, nobody has a head. This is fixed in 3rd person

Really love this mod, It's like minecraft has ment to be played like that

I decided to upload what I had finished earlier to address some of the annoying problems to make it more playable.
- Install Minecraft Forge for version 1.4.5 (link. download the recommended, universal one)
- Install Optifine if you are using it.
- Install Render Player API (link)
- Put 'ImprovedFirstPersonMod_1.4.5B2.jar' file in the 'coremods' folder. If 'coremods' folder does not exist, either create a new folder named 'coremods' in '.minecraft' folder or start Minecraft with Minecraft Forge installed, and put the jar file in the newly-generated 'coremods' folder.
Remember that Minecraft Forge has to be installed before Render Player API or Optifine.
Please be aware that I cannot guarantee that it will work flawlessly on every computer and that I won't be responsible for damages to your copy of Minecraft, computer, and/or saves, if any of those should ever occur.
Download Link(Mediafire) : ImprovedFirstPersonMod_1.4.5B2.jar
-fixed the issue with camera restriction in non-solid blocks such as ladders
-fixed the issue with first person hand showing up when optifine is installed
-fixed the issue with other player's heads not showing up in multiplayer
-bow animation with Smart Moving should work fine now. However there aren't animations for using bows and maps while crawling, climbing, etc yet.
First time using this mod, and I gotta say: It is really nice! However, it appears to conflict with the macro / keybind mod. When I have this mod installed, macros doesn't even enable. In the controls menu, it shows the macro keys, but nothing works.
Any chance these can work together? >..<

I see. I've never used it before so I'm not sure what's causing the issue, but I'll definitely look into it when I have time to work on it.

Same issue here, I had to sacrifice this mod to keep my macros
Latest bugs:
1) Can move view only the sides when in (front) of those blocks:
Fence, Nether fence, Iron Bars, Glass pane, doors, closed fence gates, trapdoor, redstone-repeater, lily pad
2) View too high while looking front
3) Can't see blocks/skulls worn by other players
4) Sleep in the air with smart moving installed
Edit:
5) No animation when going into a netherportal/while being affected by the Nausea effect
I see that I overlooked some things again. Thanks for the report. I'll probably make it so that there are no view restrictions on non-solid blocks.
their are a few hm i would say mistakes with smartmoving you often while climbing or crouching see that you have no head as you can see the body where the head should be
It is probably because there are inconsistencies between camera position and body position. I'll see what I can do about it.
I think the viewing restrictions are anoying
please find another solution
btw. great mod
It was either that or the camera had to be straight above the body, which would let you see top of the body and make it look unrealistic. I also wish I could prevent people from seeing through blocks without view restriction but currently this is the only method that works for everyone.
Really love the B2 update. I really enjoy this mod. I'm going to use it for ever! It makes the game so fantastic. Moments like when i look down and realized that i took an arrow to the knee (hehe good old joke) makes me smile every time. But I've found one problem with the bow (which looks amazing by the way). You can't aim straight up. I think you did that because the bow would be in your face that way. Maybe try something else instead like maybe changing the Point Of View more or something like that.
Keep up the good work, I tell everyone to check out this mod!
-TempSinger
Thanks! I had to put a restriction on pitch while aiming because you could see inside the bow while aiming straight up. The restriction is only meant to be temporary and I plan to remove it when I have better bow animation. The solution you suggested sounds nice too. I'll do some experiment with it.
Bug...
if the vision is on the center,or bellow, you can see inside your character's head.
I don't know if it is caused by more player models, but i'll test if is it.
Edit:.Is it...Is MPM that is causing that...

Yeah using alternate player models like those in More Player Models lets you see inside your own head. Would it not be possible just to make it impossible to render your own head when the mod is active?
I have found a bug with smart moving.
For me the bow still does not work with it and you are inside of your head so you cant see. Hope that helps at all

Yes. The problem between the work-in-progress version and optifine was because I overlooked something. It's fixed for the next release.
Thanks!
I forgot to include a code that checks if the camera is inside non-solid blocks. The fix will be included in next version.

Could you maybe make the Portal Gun (Portal Gun mod) and Gravity Gun (Gravity Gun mod [iChun's]) hold like bows? I use both of the mods, and, well, the guns point downward. It doesn't look too pleasant.

As you see i have a bug here. I use Smart Moving, More Player Models and Improved First Person View but as you see at the 4th picture it do not looks the direction i look or the others i see my head while looking down. Its terrible... You must fix it (Dont know why incompatible with them smart moving + improved first person works fine but after more player models it becomes like that also when using improved first person view and more player models).
You said this 2 days ago, and still havent posted anything on it.
The only thing that I'm bothered about is the problem with Optifine, it's no biggy though.

Unzip the downloaded zip file, copy all the files inside it and paste them into minecraft.jar.
Could not be easier.
