i agree! you could use a palette swap of flint for the green obsidian shards.. and use them for more powerful arrows :smile.gif: (ever since the charged shots from 1.8.1 were nerfed, the bows really lost it's use to me :/) but i have no clue on how to potentially find them, however. (maybe something to do with slimes?)

I was working on the concept for a mod much like this, although with a lot more content. I felt that there was a need for a mod like this, although the project was much too big, and I didn't have enough time. The idea of my mod was to increase the realism and diversity of the game, and I'm glad someone has started a mod similar to what I had invisioned. There are many examples of randomness and inaccuracies in minecraft mods, it's great to see you have maintained a level of detail in your mod. There are a few things I would like to say, however, as suggestions, and if you like, I would be happy to become a contributor to this mod. Firstly, manganese is a component of stainless steel, not steel. For that you would want carbon. Secondly, manganese is a metallic color, not pink. Thirdly, iron should be a dark grey, rather than the white it is in vanilla minecraft. The light grey metallic colored metal should be steel. Silver should be a much shinier looking metal, as for as I know, it has the highest lustre of any metal. Gold should be a much duller yellow, in real life gold is not orange and yellow, although this is what many people believe. Finally, platinum should be more of a white with possibly a blue undertone, rather than the cyan it currently has.
Overall, good job and I hope you'll want more ideas, I have some if you'd like.

I have no control over the base colors used by Minecraft without heavily modifying the base files and redirecting them consuming a lot of texture indices. So sadly for Gold/Iron I am bound by their decision.
For my Steel I chose Mangalloy as the basic, its the type of Steel used for helmets in WW2, I also realize it isn't pink, but there are only so many choices of grey and I'm already using way too many (with way too many more to go) I'd rather be a little unrealistic on the colors and implement a new metal that sticks out in the cave, than another shade of grey.
I'm contemplating doing a carbon based Steel as the base Steel eventually, then swapping Mangalloy to its own type of metal later. Not sure yet though, that's awhile down the line.

Oh and, grow up, its been said over and over again that the next version will be using forge to reduce sprite use to zero, so get over it and be patient

As Miraimai said, It is because of the Block ID conflict. Right at the beginning it sais, "java.lang.RuntimeException: RedPowerCore: BlockID 138 exists, autoAssign is disabled." Meaning that blockID 138 is already in use. Crashing :smile.gif:

ok i fixed the conflict problem by installing IDResolver and automatically assigning IDs, but now whenever i break a block the game saves chunks and crashes.

Did you read the crash? 9 times out of 10 it tells you what you need to know. If the game closes without letting you read the error, try running minecraft from commandline so the error will still be there.

I....I LOVE THIS MOD *U* IT IS FABULOUS! I've been playing for an hour and this mod just feeds to my collecting needs. I love hoarding a bunch of metal bars. Also unlike other ore-mods, this mod has beautiful textures. I can't wait for gems! I already have a chest full of ore-dusts. Keep working hard on this because it's just a dream come true.

green obsidian?
is would give this mod something to stand out of the other ore mods.
so you can find green and normal obsidian, craft them into shards and make not armor or tools,
maybe special arrows daggers or swords?
a green glowing arrow perhaps?

i agree! you could use a palette swap of flint for the green obsidian shards.. and use them for more powerful arrows :smile.gif: (ever since the charged shots from 1.8.1 were nerfed, the bows really lost it's use to me :/) but i have no clue on how to potentially find them, however. (maybe something to do with slimes?)
maybe 1/20 of obsidian generated is green?

I have no control over the base colors used by Minecraft without heavily modifying the base files and redirecting them consuming a lot of texture indices. So sadly for Gold/Iron I am bound by their decision.
For my Steel I chose Mangalloy as the basic, its the type of Steel used for helmets in WW2, I also realize it isn't pink, but there are only so many choices of grey and I'm already using way too many (with way too many more to go) I'd rather be a little unrealistic on the colors and implement a new metal that sticks out in the cave, than another shade of grey.
I'm contemplating doing a carbon based Steel as the base Steel eventually, then swapping Mangalloy to its own type of metal later. Not sure yet though, that's awhile down the line.

i've checked the txt and no, Metalurgy conflicts with Twilight Forest.
It conflicts because it uses so many terrain sprites.
Funny, cause I've used it without any problems with 2 out of those 3. All you need to do to get it working is change block id's usually, ID Resolver does the trick. That's what most conflicts come down to, just a few overlapping ID's.
Oh and, grow up, its been said over and over again that the next version will be using forge to reduce sprite use to zero, so get over it and be patient

As Miraimai said, It is because of the Block ID conflict. Right at the beginning it sais, "java.lang.RuntimeException: RedPowerCore: BlockID 138 exists, autoAssign is disabled." Meaning that blockID 138 is already in use. Crashing :smile.gif:

ok i fixed the conflict problem by installing IDResolver and automatically assigning IDs, but now whenever i break a block the game saves chunks and crashes.
Did you read the crash? 9 times out of 10 it tells you what you need to know. If the game closes without letting you read the error, try running minecraft from commandline so the error will still be there.
