Is there any way to minimize the size of the hit number? Diamond tools' durability number overlap the item next to it on the hotbar. Other than that this is a very handy mod to have.
I am curious about this also. Since I cant utilize the warnings when using superpick, the durability numbers have become more important, however, it is obnoxious seeing them overlap all over the place when you have multiple diamond tools next to each other.

When I first implemented that feature, I tried to make the text smaller because even diamond tools were giving problems. The issue is that the font renderer doesn't accept a size as one of its arguments. I'm almost done classes this term, so I should be able to devote some time to this mod next week before exams start. I'll see if I can implement my own font renderer or do something about the size to make it less obnoxious.
Thank you for your quick reply and any attempt you can make at getting the text issue fixed. A variable that could be controlled by the text file might be good so people can alter the scale depending on their UI scale if it isnt too much more effort. Just a thought =)
This is great. I sometimes forget to watch my durability when using a tool so this will help me greatly. Especially on MCMMO servers where I can actually repair stuff.

This is a signature. There should be something here....
Oh wait! There is!
I'm going to start packing up the add-on with the main mod. There will be two folders, one with the main mod classes and another with the add-on class. My MediaFire stats tell me that most people download both anyway, so this should make life easier for most of you, and it saves me a little time, too.
Sorry for the late update, it's exam time and I've been swamped. I took a quick break from studying to get this update out.
Sorry for the bump, but I'm having an issue with this mod. It doesn't like MultiMC for one thing. But I finally managed to install it right.
Except now it's saying in the console;
[DW]>> The system cannot find the path specified
>> DW_Error >> %APPDATA%\.minecraft\durabilitywarning.txt
(The system cannot find the path specified)
First of all, minecraft isn't installed by default in %APPDATA%\.minecraft. It's %APPDATA%\Roaming\.minecraft. Second, why wasn't the .txt file automatically generated?
Third, how come the OP has no install instructions?

I will not officially support MultiMC or any other custom launchers. They can change the install directory of Minecraft from the default, so short of searching your computer for your Minecraft folder there's nothing I can do. If you're looking for a launcher that supports multiple MC configurations and allows for the easy install of mods, try Magic Launcher. I use it myself, so I know it works with my mod.
Minecraft is indeed in %appdata%\roaming\.minecraft, but your computer should redirect %appdata% to %appdata%\roaming. You'll notice that no one else has had problems with this mod, and presumably at least 80-90% of them are using Windows.
The text file wasn't generated because the mod couldn't find your minecraft folder. The mod assumes things will be in the default Minecraft directory. The best way I could find to detect a user's .minecraft folder was to detect their OS and use the default directory for each. (%appdata%\.minecraft\ for Windows, ~/.minecraft for Linux, ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft for Mac)
There are no install instructions because you install it just like any other mod. Drop the class files in your jar. There are dozens, if not hundreds of tutorials and guides for installing simple mods already, so there's no need for another one here. Also, if you're using MultiMC the install should be even easier. I have never used it myself, or even read anything about it, but I assume you can simply select a .zip file and it will do the rest for you. If not, then I would like to once more suggest Magic Launcher, as it makes the process much easier.
hello, dw_hitnuber_225 can you add a config file for customize the size of the numbers? they are a little bit to big..
That was something that I tried to do when I built the hit number part, but Minecraft's built-in font renderer doesn't seem to support sizes. I would have had to build a custom renderer, and I wasn't feeling up to that. If I find the time for it, I'll see what I can do.
It's great when Mojang provides a pre-release, because it gives the modding community way more time to get their stuff ready before the official release of an update.

On that note, the 1.3.2 pre-release is available. The mod community demonstrated by Mojang is indeed great to see.
Keep forgetting to look into the font size thing, but I did find this mod. They've done the hit number thing way better than I have, so I recommend you guys check it out. The only downside is that it requires Forge.
If you want to use his numbers, then use the second download link (No add-on) to get just the main mod (chat messages) without the hit numbers.

Sorry yakie996 (and anyone else waiting for it), I haven't had time to look into the font size problem with the add-on.
Thank you for the timely update!

Download (Mediafire)
The link is producing a "Split Archive Blocked" error on the medafire site.
I'm not getting that, but try this one: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ceesbe45h8j75cr
Still getting the "Split Archive Blocked" warning with the first link, but this second link works fine.
Thanks!
Just realized the second link is without HitNumber, which I love. Hopefully this gets sorted out.
