Had anyone suggested overhead rail or monorail track yet? Both would offer some pretty epic build ideas. I'd love to have an overhead tram snaking through my city.
I have a question about steam and IC2 reactors. I did some testing in a thow-away world and found that reactors tend to put out enough steam for about twice their normal rating in EU/t. By that I mean if I have a reactor powered by a single quad-cell rated at 60 EU/t, I can connect two steam turbines and get 100% on each for a total of 100 EU/t.
If I run the reactor up to 220 EU/t, I can connect 8 steam turbines (using Denoflions industrial pipes, 2 per turbine) and get 400 EU/t. Eight turbines is the most you can add since you still want a face free for a redstone signal.
Personally, I prefer it on steam since a reactor that simply emits EU/t is a bit too much like magic. I was wondering though if it was intentional, the doubling of power like that when switching the reactor config to steam or if someone coded the steam generation code based on the old rate of 10 EU/t for a single uranium cell. None of the wikis (IC or RC) have been updated to reflect this new ability.
Not a bug? Alright, I assumed it was since it's the only machine that behaves this way.
Guess I'll demount my rolling machines when I'm not using them from now on... or put them behind some kind of circuit breaker.
I just use an iron and gate (not sure exactly what mod it comes from but you should have it as long as you have conductive pipes). Tell it to make a red pipe signal when there is work and then lead that to a gate next to your engine that applies a redstone signal when there is red pipe signal (using the red pipe wire of course)
Whenever i break/punch a minecart, MC crashes

One of your mods, either PlayerAPI or IntsEnchants tried to cast a Minecart to a Living Entity. Not related to Railcraft.
Even though the answer is probably obvious, to drain iron tanks do you need a pump and an engine? I did some remodeling and want to transfer contents from 1 tank to another.

(Assuming BC is also installed)
You need a wooden waterproof pipe and either a Redstone Engine or an Autarchic Gate. If you use BC addons you could use a Valve Pipe.
I don't see it under planned features and I didn't find it running a search on the thread, but has anyone suggested steam whistles, yet? You can stick one on the end of a steam pipe and trigger a whistle sound with redstone. (That way you can trigger it with gates.) It would, of course, consume a small amount of steam.

There is a new addition to the Seasonal Module this time around! The Gift Cart! For the price of an Emerald and some Gunpowder you have package read to deliver (preferably via air drop) to your friend's and/or enemy's house for Christmas! Inside you can find any number of goodies (unless you been a bad child this year, then you get Coal)! Some of the items you can find are XP bottles, Cookies, a new Tool or piece of Armor or even some new tunes if you're lucky, and that is but a sample of the available gifts.
Current Version Notes:
Version 6.10.0.0
NEW: Gift Cart, a Christmas themed cart available only in December and January.
NEW: Added a new config option that controls whether carts are solid and heavy or ghostly and light.
NEW: Added Iron Armor/Tools + Crowbar to Blast Furnace recipes.
CHANGE: Reorganized config file a bit, should NOT affect Block/Item IDs, but it will affect general tweaks and sub-blocks. If you use any non-default settings you'll want to double check things.
CHANGE: Separated Liquid textures from Container textures. The should help prevent lag with HD texture packs.
CHANGE: Boiler efficiency bonus per tank reduced from 0.04 to 0.03, resulting in ~20% increase in fuel usage of a 36 LP boiler.
FIX: The amount of light that machine blocks pass through is now more logical.
FIX: Hobbyist Engine now remembers current fuel usage on chunk unload.
FIX: Fixed Anchor Cart aura in SMP.
FIX: Fixed an issue with Anchor Carts that could result in them not working unless you followed a specific sequence of actions.
I think the issue is you need to have it check for forge version 6.4.1, instead of 6.4.1.406,
Its supposed to be 407 actually, because 407 fixes a crash in the Config file changes, but I'm lazy and my dev environment is 406 still. Modified to fix the crash of course.
There is an issue with the switch motor/lever, upon triggering either of these either with redstone or manual the game crashes. Tested with the previous version 6.9.2, reporting this since this was not included in the update.
It looks like the status change of the switch rail causes the crash:
