Hullo, my name is Firespread. Sir Firespread, if you please. I'm naturally American and English is my native language, but I'm about 40% Russian, 20% French/German/Spanish/English, 10%Irish, 10% Israeli, 10% From every other developed country on earth, and 10% American.
So I guess you could say I'm Russian, even though I know none of the language. I do know some French, however. Anyway, I'm Sir Firespread, And I'm here to help. And rant.
Is it just me, or is this EXTREMELY overpowered? Mine 9 gold, smelt, craft into a block and plant a sapling on it, and boom! Infinite free iron and gold! You don't even need to smelt it, and get 9 per mine. Perhaps some end-game item could be needed, if you don't mind adding one block ID, which has a gui to put in the appropriate block and sapling to grow the tree? Could be an optional addon, so you're not forcing people to take a new block ID. I don't know what your reasons for refusing to add any are, but I like this mod and want to use it. I don't feel I can, as I'll feel like I'm cheating.
I added Mo Trees to this because... There is no reason to hold it back.
You don't have to plant a sapling on a special block, just use the standard sapling on a log.
And GUI is very annoying. So are mods that add block ID's. Why? Because when you update, your world will crash, or you lose all your items related to the mod. This extends the vanilla. It doesn't try to say that Minecraft needs this. As I suggest on the main page, grow one tree, then uninstall. (I'm not angry, I still <3 you)
Solutions:
Download v1.2 or earlier.
Don't put a sapling on a gold block.
As a separate mod? And I refuse to add items or blocks to the game, but I could do a thing where redstone power could grow trees... But not in this mod. Growing a single tree already lags the game too much. But good idea, I may make a separate mod for it.
Hmm, maybe it's just my computer being awesome but I never noticed much lagg, not even when I spammed saplings everywhere with the massive tree special edition. Ah well, just an idea. I just find it kind of a problem to go and try to plant a bunch of saplings and poof - a tree grows when I'm trying to plant saplings.
(Soon to be updated to v1.4) And since some people just want the biggest and best (because size does matter ;D): Massive Tree Special Edition!
(Yes, this is one tree)
Uh this + timber mod = never have to harvest another tree, EVAR :biggrin.gif:
EDIT: Dayum just say the vid, and you can't use the timber mod like that! :/ (Yet?!)
You can. The guy who made the video couldn't get it to work.
Why dont I add a custom tree grower in version 1.5?
Just put a sign in front of a sapling, put the height and stuff... And boom, custom tree.
Maybe a config.txt file, if you do it in-game it'd be less realistic.
Edit: Oh, and I don't know if this is possible but, maybe you can change it so we only have tu put the .zip in the "mods" folder (Modloader).

2. Cut down the big tree.
3. Get lots of wood. In both ways.
Thanks Whebzy!
Imagine, a giant mushroom of Obsidian and TNT, not just a giant mushroom, a giant giant mushroom!
Thanks Whebzy!
I agree, but notch can be a retarded coder sometimes.. Like mushrooms are VERY difficult to play with.
