I'm a bit OCD with my worlds, so I pretty much had to make it, and I thought I'd share it with everyone, since I read so many other people complaining about it.

"Nerf" doesn't mean completely remove though. Originally, the endermen were to not pick up player-placed blocks. (IE: Chests, and any other placed material.) Notch may be reverting it back to that. As currently, Endermen can pick up everything.

Well, if the nerf doesn't do what I need it to do, then I'll keep updating this mod, otherwise I'll just go back to playing vanilla.
With Notch's nerf coming up soon, and the fact that C418 has already made Endermen sounds (they just haven't been put into the game yet), I'm not really going to worry about making any updates to this mod, so it's not going to be compatible with the Enderman sound change mod, sorry.
Is there any way you could change or add a Mediafire upload for the file? The Megaupload one utterly refuses to allow me to download it over the last two days - all I can get are "the connection was reset" errors. :sad.gif:

The Enderman file now lists actual Enderman sounds, so future versions of this mod will use the Enderman sounds.
However, since the 1.9 Prerelease only has the .jar files and not the new sound files, I've went ahead and made a version with Ghast sounds, for people who don't want them to be completely silent.
You're a star :smile.gif: I was just about to ask for a 1.9pre compatible version, and there it was ready for me to download. Incidentally, the ghast sounds version is "temporarily unavailable". No idea why though.
Yeah, I noticed that earlier.
It seems to be working now though.
Edit: Weird, I've clicked on it a few times, and it keeps changing between temporarily unavailable, and available.
If you could make a version where they still pick up dirt, grass, sand, gravel, and wooden logs that would be great! :smile.gif:
It would be even better if you would make a version where they don't pick up player-placed blocks, but everything else!:smile.gif:

Minecraft doesn't track which blocks are player-placed or not. The Aether mod does (I think I read that), but MC itself doesn't distinguish.
In 1.9 the Enderman seems to be ideally nerfed (now for the Empowered Enderman mod! :tongue.gif: )
Hey thanks a ton for this mod it's works amazingly, scared the hell out of me when I was going through a mine and the enderman appeared. Diamonds to you.
I do have a reply to those that go "oh you can't stand the heat?" that is utter crap. Personally I Believe they should buff them up a bit but remove that pick up ability that this modder has done. Also creepers only blow up in your face and not randomly, So creepers aren't the problem, But endermen has soon as they spawn they grab a block. Like in my case if you've been playing a world for a while it looks like swiss cheese. Thanks again for this awesome mod.
Thanks for making the mod though, Jeff. D:
Victory!!! :biggrin.gif:
You're very welcome.

I'm glad notch is removing it now though.
THAT is AWESOME news!!

Not sure what it's doing...
