This happens to me quite frequently. While it is true that I am on 1.4.7 (still, I know...), the cause my still be the same. What other mods do you use?
P.S. it was more than just mobs from Twilight Forest, but from many others as well (including Vanilla).
It's a vanilla bug. Some mobs turn invisible from other deaths of players, at least for me. Get used to it, i already did.
Adding any mod that, well, adds items/blocks to a game, and then removing it, will cause things to be 'permanently affected'... but, no, it shouldn't modify your overworld, unless YOU move something from it to the overworld (or place blocks in the overworld). Just don't leave anything you want to keep in the Twilight Forest when you remove it.
Ok, because i was watching a series on YouTube and there was a biome of the twilight forest in the overworld.
OR, someone planted trees from Twilight Forest and placed structures... (I don't know what exactly you saw so this is purely speculation, but it is entirely possible to plant Twilight trees in the Overworld-just don't plant the massive hill like ones, the leaves never go away unless removed manually...)

Can you add a way to blacklist other world generators in twilight forest? Some mods (like better dungeons) don't have the courtesy to allow you to blacklist dimensions, so you end up with junk that doesn't belong in twilight forest.

Two questions, 1. Wouldn't it be more difficult to program in code to check all world generation and determine whether it is meant to be 'in this world'-as it were-than to have code to not generate specific things in specified dimensions?
2. Given the above, shouldn't you be making this request to those developers and mods, rather than here?
I agree, it's annoying, but it isn't this mod developer's responsibility to fix other developer's mistakes/stupidity. Also, given the way Minecraft terrain/building generation seems to work, I'm not sure external mods could prevent generation of other features within their own coding... Bomes, certainly, but not structures... those are done completely differently. (P.S. if anyone KNOWS that I'm wrong, great! Tell me, and tell me why.)
I have a few questions to make. First, do mosquitoes stop spawning when I light up the area? Second, do labyrinths always have an entrance on the surface? Or can it be a random cavez? Third, do leaf dungeons always spawn on the same type of tree? Because I've only found them on the thinner ones. And last, when I create a huge tree with a sapling, can leaf dungeons spawn on it or are they only on the naturally generated ones?
I don't think mosquitoes are affected by light. Labyrinths always should have a small surface ruin above them, although you can also frequently find caves breaking in on the top. Leaf dungeons spawn on any type of the hollow oak. There is a certain (low) chance per branch to spawn one.
My game is crashing. >_< I have a few mods installed.

--- END ERROR REPORT e2bd873 ----------

I'm not quite sure, but it seems to be a problem with GemsCraft.
Hello. I'm working at "gravestone mod" wich add graves. At night graves can spawn some undead monsters, so i would like to spawn "Wraith" from your mod too if it installed, if you haven't got any problems with it.
May i do it?
No. Please don't take parts of this mod and use them in other mods.
So, I was thinking recently. The sorting tree does not require individuals to open the chests for the items to be sorted, right? And it works across servers, right?
A while ago I was in an argument with an individual developing another mod who said that interacting with one chest and hitting a 'sort' button wouldn't-no, rather, COULDN'T then sort chests near it. If I'm right, you just disproved this person with your mod. If I am, in fact right, would you be at all willing to share with this other developer to allow their mod to sort nearby chests?
(My idea was that after telling the given chest to sort, it would then check blocks 1 up/down and, if chests, sort those; and check blocks 2 left/right and sort those. Technically adding each chest to a dictionary/queue, then sorting the chests in the queue... but the details are meaningless right now).

Any code with access to the world object should be able to manipulate objects in chests in any loaded chunks.
Does this mod make any changes to the overworld? Because I want to be able to put it in my existing survival world, and eventually take it out without anything being permanently affected.
No, when installed correctly, the mod doesn't make any changes to the overworld.
Unless I'm having amazingly bad luck, the mining tree doesn't seem to recognize certus quartz from Applied Energistics. Is this a bug or intentional, or am I really that unlucky with my placement? Also, somewhat more believable that it may be bad luck; I have yet to see any emeralds pulled up.
It might not. The "trick" the mining tree uses is checking the internal, untranslated name for the block for the word "ore". There's no particular other way to find what blocks are ore or not in the code that I've thought of.

Seems to be a problem with root generation. I am rewriting some parts of that, hopefully it will be fixed in the next version.
Why are random mob textures not working anymore? I'm using Optifine with the Random mob option on.
In 1.4.7 versions I had like 15 maze slime textures made out of regular slime textures. They worked perfectly, every time being a different slime. Now I still got the same 15 textures, however, only ever the first texture is being called.
This got to do with the change in the texture system since 1.5?
It sounds like something changed, yes. Have you reported this in the Optifine thread?
From the Wiki:
That's a huge problem actually, for me and people like me. Because I'm deaf I cannot hear the noises, I never knew about the dungeon until I consulted the wiki just now because I didn't know what to do with the torchberries. Some sort of not-easy-to-find visual aid would be much appreciated.
Because going up every single huge oak tree just to check if it's a dungeon or not is not feasible and boring.
The branches with the leaf dungeons have a very subtle visual difference often visible from the ground. The noises are not the only way to find them.
Can you add a way to blacklist other world generators in twilight forest? Some mods (like better dungeons) don't have the courtesy to allow you to blacklist dimensions, so you end up with junk that doesn't belong in twilight forest.
I looked into it a while ago, but I didn't find any way. Forge triggers the world gen events, and there's no way in my code to cancel or selectively cancel them.
The "problem" is that some of the Better Dungeons are allowed to spawn in any biome.
So for now you can fix it by adding specific biome names to the dungeon config files. Just change this line in the .prop file,
biomes = *
to a list of biome names, like
biomes = Jungle, JungleHills, FrozenOcean, Ice Plains, Ice Mountains, FrozenRiver, Plains
(and any other biomes where you want the dungeons to spawn)
The dungeons that conflict with Twilight Forest are UndergroundDungeon (undergroundDungeon.prop) and SlimeCave (slimeCave.prop).
Mineshafts are also a problem, but they don't have a biome list. But since they are pretty dull, I always disable them completely (mineshafts = 0 in config.prop).
I know that this is not an optimal solution, especially if you use any biome mod, but for now it works.
Chocolatin is actually trying to fix it for Better Dungeons, but he has some issues with getting dimension ids.
Does Forge not have a 'getDimensionID()' method? One would think that such a method would be fairly necessary... Chocolatin might want to ask the devs who make Nether/Ender specific features how they did it... unless Chocolatin (using name to assume no gender, could look up, by mind/speech fractured enough already...) isn't using Forge, in which case...
No. Please don't take parts of this mod and use them in other mods.
I believe the person meant, instead of using your code or recreating your mobs, it would simply use 'spawnMob()' from your code... assuming there is any access to it. It wouldn't be replicating features of your mod as it would require your mod to happen, and wouldn't happen if your mod was not present.
If you still feel that this is 'taking parts of this mod' then I have nothing I can say to that (it is your mod after all). I just though I would offer an alternative perspective, it's 'correctness' completely debatable...
Any code with access to the world object should be able to manipulate objects in chests in any loaded chunks.
If I think about it I'll link this post in their thread. I was fairly sure this was the case, but I wasn't going to argue code that I have not seen/touched in ~three years. Making an argument on something you have done no research into and (therefore) don't have all the information on is a pointless battle equivalent to flaming...

I did figure that was the case (as stated somewhere (a) page(s) ago... If developers were able to dynamically modify structure generation then structures running into other structures-even from the same code-wouldn't occur, and, since they do (all too frequently) then this is obviously not the case.
That's normal, yes. The animal generator seems to just deposit animals on the top block anywhere it can.
I thought that tree leafs prevented mobs from spawning on them. If that is the case then it should (theoretically) be possible to designate a block as a 'no spawn' zone. Problem with that, of course, is modifying said block, and naturally preventing ANY mob from spawning. (Water also prevents hostile mobs from spawning-how, exactly, this is done, I am unsure. But Water vs Leaf is likely a biome thing.)
Finally, all my suggestions are meant to be 'useful' if they are not, feel free to ignore them... or to tell me that they are not useful (and, preferably, why).

AFAIK, mobs can not spawn on half blocks and transparent blocks: water, glass, and lava (unsure of RS lamps). BTW, RS counts as a half block so they won't spawn on top of RS lined blocks.

Yes, i mean this. I would like to make my mod more cooperated with another mods to make world more harmonious.
But this mod fully separated from "default world" by a new dimension with a great own "atmosphere", so i don't want to break it using some parts of it in normal world without the consent of the Benimatic. That's why i asked about it.)

I don't remember off the top of my head, the game either checks the material or the opacity. But in either case, it sees a stone or wood structure as "okay".

AAh, I'm sorry, I read it wrong. Yes, that would be okay. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Yay, I helped! (Finally, geeze, I seem like a whining complainer most of the time, but I finally have 'proof' that I do do good things).
Also, I realized the stupidity with regards to the leaves and water after I posted it (and when the first person responded). It is transparency AND you are using vanilla stone blocks (I think), so you have virtually no control over this.
Oh, I do seem to recall that there was work on a mod to prevent mobs from spawning on <insert thing here>, like specified blocks or regions. I haven't the slightest idea WHEN that was, so it could be BETA for all I know, but if it does exist, and anyone knows of it, this might be a 'solution'--if you care, and would be willing to ask the hypothetical developer... Obviously since I don't even know if it exists any more... this is purely speculation.
I've got a few suggestions to make.
1. The Minoshroom was supposed to be... locked up, right? As in, imprisoned, alone with his thoughts and his treasure. In which case, you should probably do something to prevent this:
I have no clue how to change the image size, sorry about that. Basically, three slimes, another minotaur and two bugs spawned in there with it.
Also, maybe include an option to slightly turn down the maze slime spawn rate? Those things are swarming me and lagging my horrible low-end laptop. I turned a corner once and came face to face with three of the largest size.
One more problem: All those treasure rooms in the labrynths. Some are rigged with TNT tripwires... but once, as I was walking on the surface, minding my own business, above a labrynth I hadn't even discovered yet, a mob down below spawned in a treasure room and set off a tripwire, blowing the chest and it's contents to bits (I finally discovered what had happened when I went down and found a room that looked like a blast crater).
Edit: I've mostly cleared out the labrynth and lit the place up, yet every time I turn a corner I'm greeted by sights like this:
On a more positive note, I love what you did with the pincer beetles. Three minotaurs pin me in a corner and a pincer beetle pulls me out.
EDIT: Bug report, an actual bug this time. Every time a wandering Carminite Broodling changes directions, it suddenly faces a specific direction for an instant and then resumes going about it's business. Every time it "flickered" it faced me, but I only got a look from one angle (I'm a fast sniper).
Ok, because i was watching a series on YouTube and there was a biome of the twilight forest in the overworld.
OR, someone planted trees from Twilight Forest and placed structures... (I don't know what exactly you saw so this is purely speculation, but it is entirely possible to plant Twilight trees in the Overworld-just don't plant the massive hill like ones, the leaves never go away unless removed manually...)
temp place holder for a magic forcefield block
Never seen one spawn on a lich tower before, thought Id show it, thought it was funny.
Think I will be on here often? Haha no.
I'm not sure about that error. It's happening somewhere in Bukkit, and I'm not particularly familiar with Bukkit internals.
I don't think mosquitoes are affected by light. Labyrinths always should have a small surface ruin above them, although you can also frequently find caves breaking in on the top. Leaf dungeons spawn on any type of the hollow oak. There is a certain (low) chance per branch to spawn one.
I have technically considered it, but I don't see a particularly good reason to do it right now.
I'm not quite sure, but it seems to be a problem with GemsCraft.
It can, using MCPC+.
No. Please don't take parts of this mod and use them in other mods.
Any code with access to the world object should be able to manipulate objects in chests in any loaded chunks.
No, when installed correctly, the mod doesn't make any changes to the overworld.
It might not. The "trick" the mining tree uses is checking the internal, untranslated name for the block for the word "ore". There's no particular other way to find what blocks are ore or not in the code that I've thought of.
That's a bug in vanilla or Forge, not anything I'm specifically doing.
Seems to be a problem with root generation. I am rewriting some parts of that, hopefully it will be fixed in the next version.

Good ideas, thanks.

Surely! If you don't want - it will not be.

Great! Thank you for it.
