No rush like i said it's not a game stopper i just wanted you to be aware of it.
I take pride in my work here; a bug that stupid annoys me on a personal level :tongue.gif:
So I posted 1.1.1 to fix it! Also, the thing where harvesters use any adjacent chest instead of just behind them is now in. And any adjacent includes chests in front of or underneath them in case that's somehow actually useful.
edit: if you actually downloaded the grass fertilizing thing you'll need to grab 1.0.1 of those compatibility mods due to changes I had to make to the fertilizer.
well while trying to wire up my planter with the RedPower mod, I noticed something interesting, (with red power I can place red wire on the side of a chest, workbench, other blocks with menu's, etc) but I cannot with the planter. not sure whats different with the planters that makes it so I cannot place red wire on them.
oh and while I was typing this, it just popped into my head that it might be fun if the planter could pull items out of chests, and if that was the case, maybe depending on which side the planter was powered from it would pull from a different chest. This would allow for multi-purpose farms that I could switch between without going underneath and changing the contents.
Hmmm I'm having a problem, i put in 1.1.1 and started it up and after i selected my world it went right to SAVING CHUNKS then shut down, then i notice the edit about 1.0.1 so i tried that...same thing.
I think i am just gonna backup my world and start with a fresh jar and then reload all my mods, stuff might have gotten messed up a bit

No idea why RedPower can't place on the sides of the planter since I don't use redpower but I'll make a note to look into it if I ever get a chance. Do other mods' blocks that have GUIs work this way?
And I am hesitant to do pull-from-chests as that is rather complex and there's already other mods that do complex inventory management better. The directional redstone I am especially afraid of because that's rather.. unintuitive, not to mention likely to lead to horrible bugs.

Ack. Can you download http://www.mediafire.com/file/jl55f4omfvnd0ce/minecrafterrortest.bat put it in your .minecraft folder and run that? I need the actual error to figure out what went wrong there.
If you're using the grass fertilizer thing, if you remove that entirely (it won't break anything if it's not there, it just won't work) does it start normally?

yes other mods GUI blocks work that way, at least all of them I have used.

yeah I understand that completely, it was just a thought :smile.gif:
but I am having an issue with the deposit into chests with the harvester, or maybe I just expected it to work this way.
--- when placing chests on multiple sides it seems to only use one of the chests.

I just updated and ran some tests and I do not have this issue. so it has to be a compatibility or an installation issue.

Yeah it just drops into the first one that it finds. ... and actually I don't think it's going to skip the chest if it's full now that I think about it. Whoops. Ok, next update I'll have to fix that one.

Yeah it works for me too so I'm not sure what went wrong but hey, I have nothing against helping diagnose these issues on the off chance my mod is somehow responsible for whatever went wrong.

yeah thats what I was referring to lol, maybe I should have been more specific, I already had a full chest and it was spitting the stuff out onto the ground.
Yeah it works for me too so I'm not sure what went wrong but hey, I have nothing against helping diagnose these issues on the off chance my mod is somehow responsible for whatever went wrong.
yeah I just wanted to let you know that it wasn't working like that for everyone. :smile.gif: I love helping diagnose errors myself :smile.gif:

That.. shouldn't be possible. Obviously it is, since you have it happening...
Somehow, one of your harvesters lost its TileEntity that tracks its state. It SHOULD be created every time the world is loaded which is why this is baffling me. If you did downgrade because of my bad wording, it's entirely likely that that somehow messed up the world's state, because the earlier versions (pre-1.0.3) didn't have TileEntities for harvesters. Does this happen on load, or only when you start your redstone clocks? If it's the latter, I'd suggest smashing and re-placing your harvesters; that should force minecraft to admit that they should have a TileEntity.
If it happens on load, I'm not sure. I can patch it to prevent it crashing there (which I'll do for the next version anyway just in case), but without being able to reproduce this actual crash I can't say for certain I can actually fix the cause.

ok going by what i think you said i figured the best thing was for me to go in with MCEdit and remove the harvesters, i did that and was then able to get into the game then i just replaced the harvestors exited and saved a few times and all seems to be working now except for the fertilizer not fertilizing the grass but as for right now i' go pick the dam flowers by hand LOL

Oh yeah I guess MCEdit would work too. I gotta figure out how to reproduce this failure so I can fix it for real, but hey at least it works for now.
And as for the grass, you have the grass block level with the fertilizer, right? If you try to use it like you just took a tree farm and removed the saplings that won't work, it has to be pointing AT the grass.
I got it working on 1.1.1 and I aint gonna mess with it anymore lol. Flowers are not that important. besides i have so many mods installed it is truly a wonder it works at all

Posted 1.1.2 to I THINK fix the issue you encountered. I couldn't actually get it to happen so I can't say for sure. This version also fixes the harvester so it will continue searching for chests if the first one it finds can't fit the drops.
Also I just noticed I misspelled your name above the video in the OP lol, fixed now.

I'll give 1.1.2 a try tonight and let you know if i encounter any problems...as far as misspelling my name goes i didn't even notice. :biggrin.gif:
Thanks a LOT for this mod. I was looking for a way to create a renewable charcoal factory for my buildcraft quarries and this was exactly what I needed.
Big thumbs up and hope you keep it updated when 1.8 comes :smile.gif:
Thanks, I love hearing things like that, it's what makes me want to continue modding!
As for 1.8, I won't be able to update until MCP/ModLoader/ModLoaderMP all update, which based on previous updates could take a day or a week. I also won't be interested in updating immediately if 1.8 looks like 1.6 or 1.7 which have a bunch of rapid updates as soon as they come out since that winds up just being a pain in the butt. All that aside, yes, I have every intention of porting this to 1.8 - if nothing else because I use it heavily myself so not having it would suck :tongue.gif:

Ah, bad wording on my part. The grass fertilizing secondary mod thing got bumped to 1.0.1; the main mod is 1.1.1.
I really need a better version naming system for those things..
