I intalled the mod by just dropping the files into the minecraft .jar and deleted meta-inf, what am I doing wrong? And all the worlds take a long time to create more then triple the time it takes to load a normal world, is that normal?
I can't figure it out, I just downloaded it fresh, downloaded a new minecraft.jar, installed the mod, and it ran perfectly at 256 height.
I don't know what to say, I've done the same, new install of minecraft, redownloaded 1.9-3 minecraft.jar, redownloaded heightmod.zip, Deleted META-INF, inserted the class's and it still crashes. All thats changed is 2 numbers on the crash report.

hate to say it, but just to see what i could find i did the same test. new jar, new game download, new height mod download. 64,128 work perfect, 256 and 512 both crash. mostly i get an error of java binary has stopped responding, usually when generating world or saving chunks.
Hopefully this is the last time I have to say it. I'm fairly sure I've eliminated all sources of crashes possible in this mod. I'm extremely sorry for this, and hope it didn't inconvenience you too much.
I get black screen after the 'Saving Chunks' screen. Tried both 512 and 1024. GUI version on the other side works, but only for heights 32-128. 256+ causes black screen.
WinXP 32bit, 3GB of RAM, java version "1.7.0-ea", fresh 1.9_pre3 with no mods whatsoever, deleted meta-inf.
So I finally know the problem. I think its because of the performance. I turnd of the Texture packs, switched to Fast (not fancy) and the render distance is at Tiny. Now I can create a 256 Map. But all above kills the game.
But its funny.
My System:
Intel Core i5 3.1GHz
8 GB Ram
1024GB VRAM
I can't understand why this wont be able to play....XD
Wow, that worked. It's enough for me to bump the view distance from Far to Normal, and it works with Fancy and Smooth. Just tried 512, generated OK. didn't have enough patience for 1024 :biggrin.gif:.

You sir, are awesome. I wonder what it is about 'far' rendering that makes it crash though...
Err why it still have the note server not pre3 yet?
i figured maybe he forgot to take off the tag, so i downloaded it and tried, on both 256 and 512 i get this error

I forgot to edit that, it's updated, you're trying to load a 128 world as a 256 world.
Also, the crashes from heightmod I can pin down to render distance, far will crash.
my reaction when it was done
then

awesome, i got tomorrow off and its perfect timing for a world reset.
EDIT:The crash report is slightly different to the last one though

Try a different world name, I changed a bit in the config and it might be trying to read the old one.
No luck, still crashing. I've tried different names, different seeds, different modes, nothings working.
Well, I've now had a few people test it and I've received reports that it works. Redownload?
Also, SERVER VERSIONS RELEASED!
Must be something on my end then, no idea what though.
