i am downgrading to 1.8 just for your radio mod. total props dude(t?). many for the thing. once it is updated to 1.0 you will be one of my favorite modders of all time
You can download Boombox 2.1 for MC 1.0 here if you're impatient. xD It's exactly the same as the one for 1.8.1; no updates. I was working on making it work for SMP but I'll just release that later.
Edit: Oh and I use mc.cm now, sorry. :tongue.gif:
many diamonds to you, sir

-snip- Skills Mod and API
An attempt to turn minecraft into an MMORPG. I should go outside more. Built on this, which was used solely by modders trying to merge Minecraft with Terraria. Main Thread
So I've been thinking; should I really bother updating the skills mod? The potions system kinda makes it redundant. I could work on something more uniform instead. Maybe a skill-based (skill as in mining, crafting, building, fighting, fishing, cooking etc.) profession system, say, for instance you are an awesome miner, it would give you benefits a builder doesn't have and make you a "Miner".
I could then make some sort of elementalist/wizard class with a whole load of subclasses (fire mage, water mage etc.) that give you access to a spells system. That could replace the skills mod thing. The skills part of it would be independant (for example a ranger could have a higher chance of landing critical shots etc.).
-snip-
that does sound like a good idea. like, a more advanced level up mod

1. Go to The End.
2. Put Boombox with 8 speakers, 4 for left side and 4 for right side (I'm not sure the number of speakers are important) and play your music.
3. Defeat Enderdragon.
4. Use portal generated after defeating the Enderdragon.
And? Music is in subtitles and in your normal world. Is it a bug or power of speakers playing music behind the worlds? :biggrin.gif:
Nice mod, gonna like it. :smile.gif:
I recommend FormatFactory for converting to WAV. No problems. :smile.gif:

Although I can't understand why one of my worse mods is so popular, here's the update for the tv mod. It's exactly the same as the 1.8.1 version only for 1.0. (meaning it doesn't include bug fixes like remote range etc.) The only tiny change is that now HD is enabled by default so you don't have to manually set it. I'll update it properly eventually but this is so you guys don't have to wait.
I'me aware of that but can't fix that without editing base classes and potentially causing incompatibilities. :tongue.gif: Pretend it's a feature. xD
I don't know if you know, but the remote range thing could be fixed very easily. Just look at how the bottle does it(ItemGlassBottle.java). It traces out a line to check for water, you could just do the same and check for your TV block(or entity, whatever it is).
Have a look at func_40225_a in Item.java. You could probably just copy that and just change the length of the ray(variable d3 is the length and it's 5 blocks so you probably want more).
Awww i wanted the 1.0.0 update for the TV mod to be fix for 64 bit people so they won't get the crash after each video ends :sad.gif:
If you followed the topic, which I understand can be monotonous, you'd know it isn't a simple fix. The video decoder he's forced to use with it primarily works for 32 bit users. He either has to find some obscure, well functioning decoder that also works with Java, or learn the entire process of making a video decoder that works for many different codecs. A daunting task to say the least. Besides that, you should feel lucky - Most 64 bit users, including myself, crash instantly when using a TV. Others have no problems. You're in between, better than me at least.
I'm wondering if using mc.cm for downloads is such a good idea. It helps with statistics but I think the ads annoy people. So far I only got $1.77 for 274 downloads (only the boombox and TV mod) and I could easily live without that $1.77. What do you guys think?
I don't know. If you could give a choice of which to use for the community, it would be great seeing they can support you and not be forced to (which doesn't mean they support you necessarily. Just a plain suggestion, and I got the idea from the modder who created SPC. Also, I seriously want to try that TV mod. I'm so desperate right now, and I don't mind looking for a decoder for Java for you. I'm looking forward to it. K.
PS: I never thought that 'modder' is not a word. Well, I guess I just found myself adding that to the dictionary.PS2: I heard some other new user on this site (he may not be new, like me, but I only just recently made an account) said he needed at least 1 person to vote one of his posts up and he can keep using his account. Is this true? If so, may you do that? Thanks!
Networking entire videos live would be laggy and ugly, definitely not something to be incorporated into multiplayer unofficially.

Ya i know that when he said he didn't had enough time to edit any of codes to make this compatible with 64 bit users just posting my sadness
Really appreciate having the TV Mod updated. I installed Xuggler a while back in preparation for this mod, but never got around to actually installing it. I'll definitely have to create an awesome movie theater now :wink.gif:
Also, looking forward to cruising around on the Maroon Machine once that's ready for 1.0!
May i suggest making your Boombox and TV mods for multiplayer as well? I showed them to my friends and they along with myself want this mod on our server. It would be appreciated =)
I've actually thought of a way that doesn't involve streaming from the server causing lag-induced death. The best way is probably when you join a server with the mod and music on it, the game will force you to sync, copying the music on the server to the client. I'm not sure of legal implications and if you join a server with tons of music/video on it for the first time you'll probably have to wait ages for it to load, but the actual playing would be flawless. All the server has to do is tell the client which video/song to play and it play it (as opposed to actually streaming it off of the server, since the client already has it). Might try that. :biggrin.gif:
I don't want to be forced to have MLP.avi on my computer. :sad.gif:
Besides, MCP is updated.
