That would be because you are using Minecraft v1.6.1. The mod in this thread is only compatible with version 1.2.5 of Minecraft. The latest version of this mod can be found here: http://www.minecraft...You will need Minecraft version 1.5.1 to run it, as well as the corresponding version of Forge as well.
You can try using a program called MultiMC. It makes installing mods a lot easier and there are tutorials on youtube of how to use it. Hope this helps. =)

This version is for Minecraft v1.2.5. It's quite outdated, and the link above is compatible with 1.5.1 (the latest version).
