I hope the next official version is tagged 1.2.4. All these different versions of 1.2.3 floating around is very unprofessional. There is no way for our mods to tell which is the correct version of 1.2.3.
Ever since I installed the new version of forge, none of the config files for any of the mods I install will generate. Anyone know what the problem is?
And yes I have looked in multiple places in the .minecraft folder other than the config folder
Hello people. I have a problem and I hope you guys can help me out.
I currently have BuildCraft 2.2.9, Eloraam's mods PR4, IndustrialCraft 1.42 and Forge 1.2.2 installed.
I can play single player no problem, but when I join my SMP server, the minecraft client hangs there with this wall of dirt and after a few seconds, it turns black then I will have to close it. On the server console, it shows that I have joined the server but it does not show that I have joined with which mods loaded like it would normally show. After the client turns black and I close the game, the console just shows that I have disconnected due to generic reasons.
I have already installed all the corresponding mods on my server. I am not sure if it is the problem with forge or the other mods conflicting each other. Help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
P.S. I have both modLoader and ModloaderMP installed in my client and the ModloaderMP installed in my server.

It seems that installing Forge while using JRE 7 makes all Minecraft audio stop working. It's as though the game is running on mute.
I discovered this while trying to install nohero's More Health RPG mod, which requires JRE 7 in order to run. After installing everything and noticing that the sound stopped working, I installed each of my mods one at a time to see where the sound problem started, and discovered it was with Forge. This didn't make any sense to me, especially since nobody else had mentioned a similar issue in the past 2 weeks, so I decided to check if any of my other mods were overwriting one of the Forge .class files before Forge did, whereupon I found that the Health mod and Forge both overwrote the vi.class file. However, even when installing only Modloader, Modloader MP, and Forge, I still had the sound problem. I then hit upon the notion of uninstalling JRE 7, the only other thing that had changed since I had Forge working (luckily, it didn't automatically uninstall JRE 6), and it solved the problem. Still, I would appreciate it if this problem were fixed soon so I can try the More Health RPG mod.

Really? Well, I'll admit that I must have deeper compatibility issues, but the fact remains that Forge and the difference between JRE 6 and 7 are still part of that issue.
Hmm...now that I think about it, perhaps the problem is that JRE 6 was never uninstalled, and there's a conflict in deciding which one to use to run Minecraft. However, the fact that JRE 7 didn't automatically uninstall 6 tells me that having them both shouldn't cause any problems from the perspective of Oracle. Did anyone else need to manually uninstall JRE 6 to fix some problem after updating to 7, or does someone have a different idea what my problem might be?

1. Turbo modle thingy is a mod that allows you to make items with all sorta of shapes including spheres
2.most of those are popular mods so id be suprised if there isnt a bug report from atleast a few of them if they went compstible it has 162 or somthing pages for gods sake!
i tyed downloading itb to find out the hard way this is what happened: when i go to normal screen it ok but when i try to go into ANY save minecraft goes to saving chunks screen and crashes and it flashes the report so i cant read it (mayby because i havent downloaded any forge mods or cuz my mods are incompatible?)

I delete the corresponding config files, because Forge self-fixes. No beans.
I reinstall forge. No beans.
I re-download Forge for 1.2.3 (the Latest and Greatest update). Hopefully this new guy should fix life, right? NOPE. It's a Crap download (none of the .class files are there). Now I'm even MORE hacked off at Forge.
Finally, I try an alternate download (SourceForge instead of MediaFire). But do I get what I'm looking for? No. BLOODY NO. It tells me that “The "/1.2.2/minecraftforge-src-1.2.3.zip" file could not be found or is not available.” What the bloody hell is this? I'm about as pissed off at Forge as I can get, and my GAME... In theory, I should be able to go ABOVE 255 block types, right? Because that is enabled by forge.
I just installed a mod that adds one id, ONE ID, and it became ID 256.
Not a big deal, right? Because forge lets me do that, right?
Who ever told you Forge provides more block ids is an idiot. What Forge does do, is makes it easier for modders to pack more types of blocks into a single id.

First, Forge gives MODDERS, not end-users, the ability to have infinite SPRITES, not blocks. It's not going to let anything you want do anything it wants, that mod has to be forge-compatible.
