Aw, why can't Mojang make that easy mod support they mentioned once
It would have been good if they could make a dam modding API for modders so mods could come out earlier, cause they know the code best
The built in modding API is going to come in a later update.

Wrong. There IS a 1.6.4 version. However you can only get it from the Japanese forums for Minecraft. Several people have posted the very link for it in this thread. As it stands it seems the mod author has abandoned the American forums and this thread.

It's not so much that ReiFNSK has abandoned the English forums as they were waiting for MCPatcher to be updated. It's not like the Japanese thread has a 1.7.2 version while this one doesn't.
So, now that MCPatcher has been updated to 1.7.2, when can we expect an update to this?
1. It is against the rules to make "I can haz update?" posts in these mod threads.
2. MCPatcher isn't required for this mod, and in no way would have inhibited/restricted the release of updates. If you meant ModLoader, you should be aware that it isn't needed for SSP, and simply enabled parts of the mod on SMP servers. I'm guessing you really meant MCP though...
3. There is a "Check for update" button in the minimap GUI. Pretty sure it will still work once Rei updates
4. ?
5. Profit

Fixed that for you...
As for "abandonment"... ReiFNSK has 106 active posts, with this thread the only one listed. The last 2 posts were:
08 July 2013 (SMP fixes of [1.6.1/1.6.2] ModLoader)
as well as a few updates to the OP also in May - July.
To put that into perspective- The mod author has only posted once, and updated the OP a few times since you joined in Jan 2013.
It's not like the Japanese thread has a 1.7.2 version while this one doesn't.
So what you are saying, is that if the mod creator hasn't updated his mod in his currently active native-language forum, we should expect to see it here first?
I will ask you to not put words in my mouth, Caveman. Yes, I was mistaken as to what MCP meant. Mod Code Pack... Minecraft Patcher... I'm sure you can see how I made my mistake. The rest of your post was smarmy & unnecessary. If you think my post broke the rules, why not just report it and let the moderators handle it.
And while we're on the subject of forum rules, why don't you go read the section on mni-modding.
I checked that page. Despite Google Translate's best effort to translate the page for me, I saw no 1.7 version of the Minimap on there. I suppose if the latest release of the Minimap is 1.6ish, then you're technically correct. If you meant 1.7, though, would you mind pointing it out to me?

Are you working on an update for 1.7? Just wanted to know if one's in the making because this is one of my favourite mods and I wouldn't like to see it end.

Currently he is unable to work on the update. When MCP updates he can start the update process, but until then the mod will be on 1.6.4.

Get over it.
The built in modding API is going to come in a later update.
Once the mod coder pack updates (http://mcp.ocean-labs.de/news.php) then we will see an update to the mods.
You can find the 1.6.4 version on the Japanese forums: http://forum.minecraftuser.jp/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=153

From the OP there is no 1.6.4 version so you will get an error.

It's the Mod Coder Pack, not MCPatcher that the modders are waiting on.
