I think there may be an issue with the current version of this.
Sometimes when i change worlds on my server everything is zoomed in probably twice as much, but eventually it fixes itself after a while.
It's like it shows the big map in place of the small map, thought this might help unless it only happens to me!

You can press the button 'X' for a large screen-covering map or 'z' to zoom in until some point that it turns in to x2.0/x1.75/x1.5 on screen
I would appreciate you informing me of any questions, comments or requests you may have.
I may implement it
I absolutely love your minimap. It's become an essential for playing. So please don't assume I think its not working as is because I am making suggestions... I would never complain about something that works as well as Rei's Minimap does.
That being said, I do have some suggestions and requests for new features that would be wonderful to see in your mini map mod.
Minor Way-points
These would be set just like regular ones in their own menu, however, they would only show up on your mini-map and on your screen when you are within a certain range of them. This way you can mark things like interesting locals (or dungeons/caves you have already cleared. Town buildings, etc) that you would like called out to you ONLY when you are nearby, but places that you don't want to see from every distance. Give these a way-point diamond image on the radar and visually that is half the size of the regular way-point image. Because these would always only show up when you are within 150m from it, you wouldn't have to see the distance from info either, as you would see the smaller pip and know that it's nearby.
Entities Depth Tracking
Have an "Entity Depth Detection" toggle option that adds a small triangle inside the circle of each type of tracked entity. Triangle pointing up for those above you, and triangle pointing down for those below you. Solid circle with no triangle when they are in the same 10m depth range. The fading is nice as it is, it would just be nice on top of the current fade system. -OR- add an option to be able to set depth fade distance, so you can lower the range you can see monsters that are far below you, or above you and only show those detected at your depth within 20m up and down for example.
Border for Map
Put a border around the map, in the same thickness like the one that is on the radar.
Map Background to prevent "Max View Distance" repeating effect
If your severs max view distance is set to be less than the range at which the Map is capable of showing you, you will start seeing some repeating map image when you are exploring and "nothing" is on the map there yet as the server is limiting what you can see until you get to a certain range. I propose having the map have a solid color background that shows anywhere there is no map info yet. This would prevent the recursive image placement. Seen here.-OR- have a "max zoom out" be automatically set based on the servers max view distance limit.
Write to Image File options
This one may be a bit more complicated... and I would completely understand it not being added at all. But seeing as your program already creates a map image to display on the fly... is there any way you can add an option to have the entire map be saved to an image file as you explore. and update the map that's within range of you at whatever rate the game could handle. I know there are map viewing programs, but having your mini-map do this at the same time would cut down on the need to get yet another program, not to mention your mini-map mod auto detects mod block colors which is great, and some mapping programs cant seem to figure out what to do with them. This would of course only work on surface mapping.
Map Screen Position
I think it would great if instead of "TOP LEFT", "TOP RIGHT", etc options currently in there, you had an actual X, Y, coord system, or while the menu was open you could drag and drop the minimap wherever you want on the screen. I would like to offset my minimap a bit because other mods can put words at the top right and top left of the screen, and they tend to overlap. But being able to offset the mini-map would be great.
Minimap Spinning
Separate the 'Map Shape' option from the "Rotate effect" and make that an option on its own, so you can have Circle maps that don't spin and square maps that do. (Just to clarify. The square mini-map holder wouldn't rotate, just the map it displays would.)
Well that's all my ideas for now!
Thank you for your time, and the Mod itself! :]
ReiFNSK Could this be a possibility "server operators add to the login message the seed for the map then the mapmod could look there so that the minimap will show slime chunks."
I usually load maps in single player before moving to my server to explore the area around spawn to see if it is a decent map to run on our servers.
Thanx for your consideration, love your mods

I don't understand how to make cavemapping work in smp
in server.PROPERTIES I typed this : "&0&0&1&2&3&4&5&6&7&e&f" as motd but ingame,I can't use cavemapping,do the mod need to be installed on the server too?
note : I use mcpc+
The MOTD in server.porperties is not a message of the day (despite it's name). You have to mod the server if you want to enable cave mapping and entity radar.
I'm new to this mod and would not prefer to read 281 pages for possible answer, what i would like to know is i know in feed the beast the map they use when you are on surface and then go into cave or lower the map will change, is there anyway to make yours do that as well or will it just stay on surface, or is it something i have to change between surface and cave render type
Love this mod. But I'm a bit new to mods, my version doesn't work after new patch, I see there is a update. But how do I go about updating the mod? Thank you.
thanks a lot,I'll try it
but I got a question : what is motd in sever.properties if it's not message of the day???
EDIT : I changed motd thanks to simple MOTD reloaded plugin but that still don't work
The motd in server.properties is what's displayed in the server list before someone logs in. What you need is something that is displayed to a player after they log in to your server.
I by rule never mod my main .jar as it is unnecessary with most mods. This one works just fine by dropping it in your mod folder. no need to muck with the jar.
The ONLY thing I ever put in my jar is Forge itself, and possibly Optifine.
Slime Chunk's doesn't seem to be working correctly on [1.5.2]ReiMinimap_v3.3_05. Everytime i load the game they are in different locations. The only other mod I have installed is Modloader 1.5.2 .

You playing on a server?
If so, this is stated in the OP.
"Indication of slime spawning chunks (Does not work in multiplayer after minecraft 1.2)"
Otherwise...not sure.

That's easy, just open the large map (default key: X) while in biome layout, the legend is on the right hand side.

no, you can still shove it into your jar
It runs fine with a Forged MC.
