A lot of people want this, however, Spout itself is a restriction as to what can and cannot be installed on a player's client, preventing them from using cheats, xrays, speedhacking, even down to texture packs. Forcing users to play into this can steer a lot of people away from a server.
I know of many SMP servers that get along just fine without it, including my old server Herocraft, which has their own class-leveling plugin similar to mcMMO. Basically, by using the correct plugins as a preventative measure, the need for Spout becomes non-existent. I do the same for my private server and would never want to force a custom client on a player, as I enjoy this and other plugins that do not support Spout myself.
If you truly are a server op, you should try to do without it. Not only will you reduce your users' frustration, but you open your server up to more people. If accepting donations for server overhead/upkeep, this is even more to your benefit. The key is preemptive action via plugins. Even a drop-edit plugin can deter potential x-rayers from playing on your server.

I manage my server with peeps using both clients. Like RealShop2, it works no mater if they have SpoutCraft or a normal MC client, it just needs it server side. I like the SpoutCraft client as it runs better and has more options than the MC client.
I use my MC client with worldedit and such. So I have this add on myself.
My server is very small right now, and will stay that way untill I have settled on how I want it to be. I don’t ask for donations for something that is not finished, or set yet.
So this is more of a personal request. I have set up my server to support REI's mini map with settings for the normal MC clients to be able to use the cave mapping. So as I have said, I support both, just asking the author if it is possible. :cool.gif:

Works for me. You need to know that slimes are rare spawns. If there are a lot of mobs already spawned on the map, it will decrease your chances of seeing a slime. Also, they will not spawn if you are within 24 blocks of the chunk. Read up on the wiki about slimes to get a better understanding of this.

Can we set up Zones/borders as an idea for the mod, like setting a boundary, or a place that we can view where we are based on the zone we are in?
Its set up initially as a box, then can be extended/shrunk based on its color, and name, way-points are great to set up areas, but i think i see a lot of text taking up my map with big lettering, It would then show the name of the zone above the mini map, or just for a time then disappear.
Sub zones
Setting a zone as a parent will allow all other combinations of colored zones within that parent zone to show specifically where you are in it...an example of this is your in Your Home Base, within Your Home City. These could be shown above the map.
Map Automated Zooming
You could also further influence how your map reacts by setting default zoom levels within a zone zooming in all the way when your home base zone is small
Zone specific way points
Large or small way points could be parented to the zones they belong to, so you can label doors, chests, points of interest, etc. These would only show when your in the zone specific to it.
The Example So far:
When your outside a city zone the map as an example would be almost fully zoomed out.. a descent size, and show entrance ways to zones/cities/mines/lone-buildings etc
When you enter the zone the text would show above the minimap as to which zone your in; the map would zoom in a little further down so you could have a better idea to your surroundings. Now when you enter the zone, the waypoints attributed to when you were outside zone would disappear, and the waypoints within that zone would load up, door ways, market areas etc, zones could even have height restrictions so that they will only show whats close by with text, and maybe icons with an up or down arrow which is transparent like mobs icons are the farther away you are from them. As you exit the zone the waypoints unload from memory/fade-out, while the new zones load up/fade-in. Reduced clutter, increased awesomeness, no more getting lost in your own personal earth sized map (if you ever explored it all :smile.gif: )
The Search Function
Can be probably tedious, but since Not Enough Items mod came out, i believe its def possible. Searching for waypoints as to highlight them more then the rest and set as your main target, so you don't get lost in all the arrows
Road Signs
I know your mod adds no in-game items but what about Road Signs etc.
The Sign would simply be a large post about 3 to 4 blocks in height allowing you to add labels to it that point in the exact direction of the zones center, you just need to make the post, place, and add a sign post (vanilla minecraft) to it, and choose your zone.
If you change the name, the name would be changed automatically as they would share the same address
If you remove the waypoint or zone from the database, it would force the sign to fall off the post onto the ground/or damage it, to make it look cool <shrug>
World Map or Atlas? In game book that holds locations and pages of specific locations etc.?

the only other mod i know of that uses qd class is zans mini-map, make sure you completely remove the files that zans uses before installing reis
Improved Chat is also using 1 of the class files Rei's minimap uses, though there is a patch so you need to install Improved Chat after Rei's minimap and it will work.
Does anyone know if this is compatible with the snapshots? I'm currently using 11w49a mostly for the wool regrowth and walking not trampling crops features, and I'd like to find out if this minimap mod can help me find slime chunks in that snapshot.
My game does not save the config I do in-game. So I have to do them every time I launch it via the M key and then a couple of mouse clicks. This doesn't bother me much but I'm sure it's not supposed to be like this. Does anyone have any idea about this?

So the entities radar map lets me see ALL mobs.
But I only care about creepers. A special color to ID them only would help alot.
But often I don't see the minimap until too late.
Is there a way to make a warning sound if a creeper is within 20 distance?
They don't start hissing until they are right on me, and by then its too late.
Or better yet, since they switch from Random Wander mode to Chase mode.
Anyway to make a listener for that variable change and then sound the alarm?

Does anybody know how to activate CAve Mapping and Entity Radar for SMP? Noone seems to know how it's done, if at all possible.
You would need to alter the code. Rei added a checking for multiplayer and disabled those features if it's returned "true".
Fair to say, that's the one thing I dislike about this mod. I see no point in limiting the usefulness of this mod just to stop one or two griefers. Its like getting an awesome toy, but only being able to play with it if its raining outside, is exactly 30 degrees, and your dad is 4 drinks down.

Works for me. You need to know that slimes are rare spawns. If there are a lot of mobs already spawned on the map, it will decrease your chances of seeing a slime.
