This AWESOME mod works great in Singleplayer, but when I try to get on the multiplayer server I play on my Minecraft crashes. I've asked the Admins, and they say that's its allowed and not blocked or anything. Could anyone help me out?
5 bucks to whoever can enable it on multiplayer servers. Rei man, I don't see why it is such a big deal to allow the entity radar to be on for all smp servers. The only problem that I can see, is the player radar. Could you please (or someone else) enable the monster and animal radar for smp servers?
and if someone else does it, pm me with it, I will love you for life.
But the monster and animal is kinda s=cheat too...if you cant see them you shouldnt be able to know they're there.

They need to enable some stuff. Try directing them to the OP.

I'm having an issue with the Pre5 release. If I use your minimap, I cannot use modloader for some reason. I looked at about 15 pages with no reference to any similar issue, so I'm now asking. What happens; I install modloader, recipebook, and your minimap. I use the HD texture patcher for my pack, and run the game.
Unlike normal modloader crashes, I do not get an error log, and the mojang splash actually appears. Once it gets past the mojang logo, I get a black screen. I have given it 10 minutes or so in an attempt to see if it was just a slow load, or if it was an error. Seems like it's just an error. Now, I refuse to not use your minimap, as it is much more helpful than any ssp mod I have ever used. I wanted to report what seems to be a bug, and to ask if there is a fix of any kind.

Same here... I installed modloader first, then this minimap. It gets to the Mojang screen and dies.
I have two questions. The first is, what does deathpoint do? I can't figure that out. The second is how do you enable the large map. I know on Zan's minimap it's press and hold Z but that doesn't seem to work. Thanks.

Open your Map Menu and look in the Key Config :smile.gif: (Can't recall the default key.. think it's X, but check in the menu :smile.gif: )

v2.7_01 for 1.9pre5 supports official ModLoader, but does not support unofficial ModLoader.
Probably you use ModLoader of unofficial. Or you use Mod for b1.8.1.
Hi Guys,I was hoping you could help me get the radar working as I'm getting a little stuck getting it to activate on SMP..We use bukkit plugin 'AdminCmd' which has a motd setting, I'm merely assuming this is the correct line to edit?I changed the motd to start with '&0&0&1&2&3&4&5&6&7&e&f' but as you can see ingame no entities on radar.Appreciate any help with this, I am also open to motd plugin suggestions if that's an easier route!/cheeky
Please change character string into a color code of AdminCmd.
Rei's Minimap v2.7_03 [12-November 2011]
-Fixed: Mob(monster) that had been displayed EntityLiving. (1.9pre6)
-Fixed: Could not be switched EntityLiving.
I cannot get the download link to work, and I have been trying for a good while now. Wish people around here would use a direct link instead of these weird revenue generating redirecting things. It's not that I care if you make a little money. That's great. But when these sites go haywire it would be nice to have a backup.
Nevermind...it was just really slow. Took 10 minutes for that page to load, and it had four "download" links all pointing to different URLs. If someone wasn't careful they could easily end up with something nasty. I would suggest using a different host than that one. Worst I've seen.
Looks like a cool mod, though. Can't wait to install it!
Heya Rei, awesome mod! I love the all the features it comes with, and makes some tasks a lot easier. There's a few things with it that I noticed could be added as improvements. I'm sorry if any of these are repeats, I just can't be bothered to read 60+ pages. If you don't mind taking a minute to consider these, it would be much appreciated! :smile.gif:
Suggestions:
Ability to resize small and large maps
I have a 1280x1024 monitor, and both maps look pretty small. The only way to resize them is by going into the Minecraft options and changing the scale of the interface, but that makes everything else bigger. Here are some screenshots to show you my resolution and suggestion: Small map | Large map
Icon suggestions (You already are considering adding this)
House (for your home location), Globe/Earth (for warp points or spawn location), Bed (for previous bed location), Skull (for death location), Cave entrance (to mark your caves or dungeons), Portals (for your overworld/nether portals so you know which goes where)
Trails/Breadcrumb
Basically, you would enable/disable this to record where you've been. Additionally, you can erase the path you made in-case you want to clear the mess. It would also have an option to show/hide. I imagine it would work similar to navpoints, only it would be a collection of them. It shouldn't have to record too many steps, maybe every 10-20? Or, you could let the user pick how many steps with a slider, just if they want that solid line or more separated dots.
Perimiters
It's just like the suggestion above, but used for marking areas as one large navpoint, with the name showing in the center. This would be useful for marking towns. If you want, you can even be fancy and allow the user to actually draw them manually.
Navpoint names suggestion (You already are considering adding this)
Also add distances that could hover under or next to the name, like:
Home
(200m)
Adding South and West to Sunrise direction
Just to cover all 4 sides. I mean, the round map rotates, so it shouldn't be too difficult. Also, allow the square map to be able to rotate like the round map along with NSEW indicators. Likewise, for the round map, let it have a "Fixed" option so it doesn't rotate. Ideally, you want both to have the same options.
If you've read this far, THANK YOU! I know you might not consider these, or if you do that it may take a while to implement. Either way, I appreciate your patience and hope you continue adding to this already awesome mod! I'm also picking up Java to put under my belt as a programmer, so I might just end up implementing myself if you don't get around to it (and I will gladly give you the code!), but it might take a while before I get good at it, so no promises! Anywho, sorry for the wall of text, I'm sure I've covered the ones I thought most useful, but if not, I'll come back. Have a nice day! :happy.gif:
