Check if Use Old Biomes is on. If it's off, there's the chance of snow worlds. The chance should only be 1/4 (unless you have woods theme enabled, where it's 1/2). When biomes are on, I don't let the routine that sets snow worlds run, heh.
I will investigate the lag issues at some point in time, as they've been there since 1.7.3. I fear this is the result of the repeated option checks per frame. I can use callbacks to improve performance, likely, but this is a hell of a lot more complex to do.
It worked! And as a side note, without the snow, there's no lag.
It says that the archive I downloaded is either damaged or I don't have the software to view it. Probably something to do with the download uploading because I have donwloaded it 3 times.
It's a perfectly normal archive packed with 7-zip, so I'm not sure what's up since others are obviously able to get it. What archiver are you using?

Two questions.
1) is it possible to generate 1.8+ structures and features, e.g. ravines, strongholds, and mineshafts? I've set "no beta map structures" to false (and to true, just in case) but it doesn't generate ravines etc... Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything in the thread. The Mapfeatures option is at 1.7.3, which is of course before these structures were introduced.
You should be able to, if you can't I may have screwed up horrible somewhere, heh.
About the chests, they historically have always done that, but I may look into changing it.
Can you please confirm what settings would generate ravines, strongholds, etc? Or is it just the one I mentioned above? (the "no beta map structures" option)
Ravines require both the "No beta map structures" and "generate map structures" (in the more world options panel) to be enabled. This is an oversight, and will likely be fixed in the next version (so they don't also rely on structures)
Can you make an installer for this? like singleplayer commands?
my computer wont let me install mods for some reason. i follow ALL the steps, but minecraft still crashes. so do you think you can make an installer that does everything for you? this mod is the only thing that will make me keep playing minecraft.
I don't doubt it -- what worked once doesn't always work in the future, especially now that I have so many options.
I will restructure for the next release, but LD22 is still taking up my time.
In the next version, I'll also document every option entirely, probably in-game even, as well as reducing the amount of "gotchas!" with the way things work.
EDIT: Ugh, I totally blew it! I forgot to remove the no-biome shades from the biome texture pack. I am a complete idiot.
Pretty Epic. I was extremely excited to see this mainly because I didn't want my very first Alpha World to generate 1.0.0 landscape and such. So I download the mod everything worked perfect until I went into the world.
Last I remeber I was in my Mineshaft and here is what it looks like now:
Mineshaft:
My house:
Why is this? I'm using the default texture pack generating 1.2.0 world. Also it may have been created in 1.2.6 if that has anything to do with it.
By the way, I fixed the problem I was having earlier. I just installed it again. I'm not quite sure why this happened but if it happens to anyone else just have them re-install it.
It worked! And as a side note, without the snow, there's no lag.

Yes, it is the only one installed (Including Modloader, AudioMod, and the GUI thing)
Old Ladders: True
