I've really liked this Mod. It forces you to survive with limited amounts of wood making you force you house to be made out of cobblestone or something other than wood. I also like how you can find randomly generated abandoned house. Since people are already using this mods with other mods, I've decided to use the 1.7.3 Repair My Items mod which allows you to fix your tools using a furnace and some coal/charcoal which I've found helpful since you just need to find coal and not trees. A suggestion could be to have a 25% Chance of all abandoned houses to spawn signs in front of the houses. Also make some of the houses, two story houses.
This is what I've got so far on this mod. Looking forward to making a tower.
I always make my practical houses out of cobblestone, as creepers can't blow it up very well.

It's now a tower XD. I'm actually still using this mod to my surprise. Also in the picture is a survivor tent that I manually made peparing for the 0.8 version.
One mod I do recommend using with this: EvilMinecraft. The spawn rates of Creepigs, passives like hippos and rams, and Evil Chickens are messed up by the lack of grass, but EvMC's other hostile mobs and features work great with Wasteland. I would recommend using Standalone Wasteland instead of the toggle version, haven't tested if EvMC's terrain features carry over into nonstandard generation sets... and you need to install Wasteland on top of EvilMinecraft, with the exception of er.class (use Wasteland's if you want Fallout Shelter Dungeons, use EvMC's if you want Large Dungeons (and probably Creeper Nests are also dependent on er.class...))

I have structure ideas that can range from difficult to flat out exploration.
My first idea was an abandoned factory with lots of space to explore, and it could be quite big too! It should spawn rarely and if it does spawn, should be easy to spot due to its size. It could be more exploring than fighting enemies. You would find chests in certain rooms containing some iron ingots, tools, etc. (That said, I sorta wish that ore would be a bit more difficult to find, so that these buildings could be more significant). The rooms could be an animal test chambesr, cryogenic chamber rooms, science labs, and supposed work rooms with blocks leading a water or lava source into a bowl-like object or the would be pistons leading a block into something.
My second idea is an abandoned or ruined town that is fairly sized and should be containing some survival necessities like bread, wood, sticks, and rarely some iron. There could be 1 or 2 zombie spawners in the town representing radiated people. If you're lucky there could be a mine shaft in the town containing a bit more minerals and ores than normal wasteland generation. The buildings could be homes, sheds, stores, guard towers, and the needed town hall. It could come every now and then while exploring the wasteland.
My last idea was an abandoned military base that is large and stretches underground. The player would go through the base finding the occasional chest in some rooms with some iron, gold, arrows, tools, rarely armor, very rarely diamonds, and the ultra rare diamond armor! It should have a few monster spawners with some skeletons and zombies. You could find cafeterias, armories, sleeping dorms, etc.
These are all of the ideas I came up with so far. Hopefully it's not to much of a hassle if you consider doing any of these ideas. These are just ideas that I hope to be implemented one day. I don't mind if you skip these ideas to, they do seem a bit difficult to make.
ummm im not sure if this was mentioned but im pretty sure this is incompatible with minecraft forge 1.05 or 1.5, whatever is the newest one. other than that, its a great mod
I've read all the suggestions and error/suggestion things guys. I do appreciate them and like them all, but the post begins to stretch as long as the page/
Thank you all so much for the suggestions and ideas :smile.gif: Also, thank you for reporting the errors/things I need to update.
For those wondering, the basic reason why I haven't updated in a bit is because school has started up, which obviously eats most of my day, and then I have a 2 hour football practice every week day afterwords, which takes up just about every other piece of time I have left. I'm hoping to get stuff done on the weekends, we'll see how that plays out.
The Rare option is how rare it is from 0-10, 0 being default, 1 being easiest to find, 10 being rarest
is it possible to make this?
Also if theres confusion about this:
Grass: DIRT
Rare: 0
DIRT: Sand
Rare: 0
it will not replace the dirt that used to be grass cause grass was replaced by dirt already
*Face palm*

Definitely on the list, need to figure out how to recompile the files with different names.
Yes, but you need to place them in the Minecraft.jar directly, and it will carry over if you switch generators.
So what you can do is replace each block with what you set it as so something like this:
The Rare option is how rare it is from 0-10, 0 being default, 1 being easiest to find, 10 being rarest
is it possible to make this?
