I found a glitch while messing around with the MAtmosDesigner. It seems that if you set up the database in order to say...detect when you are standing on a gold block and play music when you are...then go into game and stand on a gold block it works. However when you stand on it then move it with a piston one of two things happens. First possibility is that all game sounds go completely mute. Second possibility is that the music file I wanted to play while standing on the gold block keeps playing even though I have stepped off the block.
Any chance the next update will auto-disable the "windy air" sound that is spamming loudly when flying in creative mode? I notice it causes alot of sound stutter too, probably due to it not coping with the fast flying & updating or something. Just disabling it when in creative mode i mean, since you do alot of flying around then :smile.gif:

It's a bug I'm addressing in the next version, meanwhile you can fix it like this (requote from a previous post):
Sigh. Can't you just edit that yourself rather than have it removed for everyone by default?
MAtmos Designer is not supposed to be used by totally causal users, but by users that have a certain easiness in file manipulation and data manipulation, you just can't assume anyone can do that
EDIT: Especially when there's condition manipulation involved which is the case for this one

There's a machine in there which plays a looping chime sound file when the player is directly in physical contact with diamond ore. In this machine, look at the stream tab. There are two values, the Boot Delay and the Shutdown Delay, respectively 1 second and 7 seconds.
The Shutdown delay allows the stream to sustain even if the player loses direct contact with the diamond ore for less than 7 seconds.
As for the red text, I'm not sure what you're talking about, things like this are not supposed to happen
Just wondering. Is there a way to have the inventory sounds, and not the sword swings?
There's a way, the "weapon interactions" expansion just needs to be altered a bit
I could do it but you need to be more concise about what you want to remove, do you want to remove all tool swing sounds, the sword hit sound, the sword swing sound?
If you feel like doing it yourself, in your case it a very simple thing to do, you can download MAtmos Designer (look at the main thread) and open the matmos_expansions/interactions_weapons.xml
In your case, going to the "Machines" tab and deleting entities on the left list should be the quickest way. You can test what each entry in the list does by selecting any entry on the left lift, and then look at the right and press the "Turn on" button at the very bottom.
Love this mod. best thing ever. One question for the fire. its very very very crackly and loud
Have you considered redoing that sound at all? Seems to be the only sounds thats annoying. which Fire was always fairly annoying in MC.
For some reason, I don't here anything at all...
I believe I have installed it correctly, and in game, I can control the volume with F7, but there are no added sounds...
Does anyone have any idea what went wrong?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"ALL SENIOR MINERS SHOULD HAVE CREEPER ALERT, Thats why I wear one, too..."
How can I tell if the mod is working? Does pressing F7 show any text when its being disabled or enabled? I dont hear anything.
Nevermind, I must have extracted the files into a different minecraft.jar file. When I took a peek at the one I was using the class files were clearly not in there. Works now. Thanks! And yes, for those having issues pressing F7 shows text on the screen.
Try setting a forest fire it should make use of MAtmos' fire audio. What would you suggest if you were looking for something different (in terms of audio) but under the same conditions?
Oops, sorry, my mistake.
Maybe a special sound for pulling levers. or pushing buttons? instead of the old "TICK!".
No need to reinvent the wheel. Modesty might demand you find alternate sources for the sounds but the truth is this, MAtmos sounds great and has high quality. I would seriously hope you would not replace these excellent aural items with lesser quality just because your pride demands it.
Simply put, MAtmos sounds great. Let that be what it is.
Do you think you can add the loops that aren't being used in the game in .minecraft? I always wanted to hear it in action, so I think this would be the perfect mod. Go to the MinecraftWiki for more info.
Old signature got imageshack'd.

Download http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3370078/interactions_environments.xml
Then go to ()/.minecraft/matmos_expansions/
and replace the file that is in that folder with the one you've just downloaded.

I don't know what this EDIT is about, what you said having succeeded is impossible to do in the current state of affairs
For the blue text issue:
Try to load this database:

Anyway. Hope you stay on this I love it!

I LOVE IT, it's AMAZING!
Good job! Notch better include this in future versions of Minecraft!
the other (for me) are Better Than Wolves and Pistons (RIP).
If notch doesn't add it to Minecraft, He is a fool.
Suggestion:
add a sound effect for BEING IN A FOREST FIRE!!!!!!!
Oops, sorry, my mistake.

or a sound while climbing a ladder!

Brings so much LIFE to the world! No more walking around in dead silence with only your foot falls.
