This is a general message for everyone having difficulties installing:
In the downloaded file MAtmos_r25__1_6_2.zip, inside it there is a folder called matmos/ and a zip file called MAtmosClassesNDP_r25__1_6_2.zip.
If you have ModLoader:
- .minecraft/versions/1.6.2ML/mods/MAtmosClassesNDP_r25__1_6_2.zip
- .minecraft/versions/1.6.2ML/mods/matmos/
should exist (is you installed ModLoader correctly using the new instructions provided in the official ModLoader thread)
If you have Forge/FML:
- .minecraft/mods/MAtmosClassesNDP_r25__1_6_2.zip
- .minecraft/mods/matmos/
should exist
Do you use MagicLauncher? I don't know about whether this causes issues. If by any chance you are using some exotic launcher that is not Minecraft's, and you are absolutely sure ModLoader is installed, try installing it as a last resort:
- .minecraft/mods/MAtmosClassesNDP_r25__1_6_2.zip
- .minecraft/mods/matmos/
I do use MagicLauncher, yes, and ModLoader is on its loadout, also I have another modloader-required mod called Rei's Minimap so I know ModLoader is working correctly, I'll try putting MAtmos in the .minecraft/mods instead.
I did this, and in the MagicLauncher's setup window, the MAtmos classes archive is shown within External Mods and for the status checks out as OK just like everything else, and I have it checked so that it supposedly launches with the game. But when I open the game, and enter a server, I press F7 and nothing happens. I don't hear any of the ambience at all. There are no error messages and the game doesn't crash, it's just that MAtmos doesn't do anything.
Thank you very much man ) I can hear my MInecraft once again . BTW it is very easy to install with MCPacther too !
You guys just need to add the Modeloader for 1.6.2 to MCPatcher installation and press patch!,, once it's done, open the game once and close it again, it will create for you a folder named "mods" inside the folder, named >> 1.6.2-mcpatcher,, which is in .minecraft >> versions. In the modes folder you just copy the content of the "MAtmos_r25__1_6_2.zip" ,,, that's it !!! play the game )
I tried that, thinking that there might be some incompatibilities caused by the magic launcher, which is what I was using. Even when I redownloaded the jar, used MCPatcher instead of MagicLauncher, and followed all the instructions, it still installs all the other mods but MAtmos simply doesn't seem to do anything...
True ! I just realized that with above described method the Mod will run normally only on Singleplayer! on Muiltiplayer the Mod is simply not loading! I don't know what's the problem ??!
Interesting, I hadn't though of the possibility that it worked at all because I only play Multiplayer...
Some mod I have is conflicting with this or something. I'm using forge 9.10.0.789 on 1.6.2, I followed the install instructions correctly but it still says the matmos folder is not found when its right in .minecraft/mods/1.6.2. Here is the forge log
Also, I am using optifine 1.6.2 HD U B4
If you are using Forge, you were supposed to put the matmos/ folder in the .minecraft/mods/ folder (so that the .minecraft/mods/matmos/ folder exist
Don't mind the error message, it's not accurate. I forgot to change it.
So I got it to work Only with Singleplaye !!!! For some reason if I Start a Multiplayer, the MATMOS is not loading !!
What is wrong?? Does anybody has this problem ?

I bet you're using ModLoader. I didn't know this bug existed until just now. After doing searches I found out this thread: http://www.minecraft...s-in-modloader/
Since Minecraft 1.6, Risugami's ModLoader has had several annoying bugs. Some are quite major, and a few can actually make the game almost unplayable! Many mods require ModLoader to work, so I wrote this patch to fix them. Currently the patch fixes these bugs:
Sound shuts down after 30 seconds when using ModLoader.
Mods with in-game GUIs (minimaps, HUD mods, etc.) do not work on servers until a single player world has be loaded.
Some mod config files are not saved properly.
So apparently, some of the previously reported sound issues for 1.6.2 and the mod not working in multiplayer unless you loaded a singleplayer world first, are caused by ModLoader
---
I don't know what I should do really about that, it's out of my scope.

But I get that even if I don't have TMI .
I get that when the matmos mod is installed even on its own
Even more than once (when you first take TMI out it will do it once)? After that it still comes up? It's been doing it to me every time start up and it is a known issue with TMI(so I thought) And it has been doing it way before Matmos even updated. So its definitely not this. IF thats the case then I guess I'm not sure but its not Matmos, thats for sure
I get that message only once , when I start game for first time and open any world .
later if I save the world and open again ,the message don't pop any more ,until I restart the game completely.
If I remove matmos mod and instal TMI , all is Ok and no messages
Yeah, but its only OK for the first start. With TMI installed its always fine the first time, after that you will get the message at every start up. When you take it out, you will get it once(after TMI removed) upon start up then never again. ITS TMI---trust me
Bobbing up and down in lava will eventually cause the falling-into-lava sound to play again, and has done so for while now. (Didn't notice this until fairly recently, but I'd guess it's been this way since the mod was created, because iirc it was made before fire-resistance potions and creative mode.)
Is there any way to keep the sound from looping?
I want and tried to install this mod manually without Forge or Modloader and it doesn't work. Is it possible to install without a modloader? where do I put the Folder named "matmos"?
It isn't possible without either the Forge modloader or Risugami's modloader. It needs one or the other to even function. By the same token the matmos folder can't go anywhere except for the "mods" folder that gets generated when Modloader is activated, anywhere else and the mod just simply won't work.

Sweet, this will make Minecraft the prettiest game I've played in. I've combined MAtmos with Shaders before, and it was the coolest minecraft possible. But what I didn't do was also add in an HD 256x256 texture pack... >

Or so that's what they call me. I honestly like video games, not some petty crafting junk. Mwahah.
I'm updating Minecraft Sound improvement expansion to work with a 1.6.2 minecraft version ! Will you be working on updating the Matmos Designer as well ?
Updating MAtmos Designer is very low priority right now, I have other mods that I haven't even updated yet + the resource pack system requires me to do a full rewrite of Audiotori, it's like creating a new mod + I have other occupations aside from making mods, I really need to cut corners.

Oh well, thanks !

I use them together, so I'd say yes.
WIP 128x 64x, SEUS support, Mod support in the pipeline TEKKIT, FTB, the more support the more mods!
