Hello fellow Minecraftians, it appears I have an error with my installation/game! I installed this mod alongside BuildCraft, BTW, TMI, and zombe's modpack (certain parts) and it seems when I try to break any block or even place one I immediately get a screen saying "Saving chunks..." and the game crashes. Before someone tells me to check the FAQ let me say I have already tried reinstalling it once, and both times I installed it I used a fresh minecraft.jar. I also did'nt install over Forge 1.0.4 as I only first heard of it today. Please help!
It's a problem with Zombe overwriting one of the classes that Forge needs.
wow i just found a rather interesting snippet back in this forum, its about something called redpower world... so i gots me some questions:
1. Are you still planning on releasing this eventually?
2. You standing your reason becyase to indigo plant thing was becuase you didn't like the fact that blue dye was non renewable, but brown is waaay rarer then the blue... do you plan on making a brown dye plant?
3. Did you know i still wants me zombe's modpack?
1. Yes.
2. Notch has stated his intention to add cocoa plants. I didn't want to jump the gun on that one.
hmm I just finished upgrading to 1.7.1 and I am noticing some different behavior, in 1.7.0 I could place pressure plates, and
tracks on hollow slabs, but now in 1.7.1 I cannot, was this intended? it was nice the way it was before as I could then make my 1x1xX railroads, and now I cannot. also power no longer transfers through the hollow slabs but it did in 1.7.0
Yes, that's intended. You can still use regular slabs, though.
What do you mean by power transfer? There shouldn't be a change there at all.
I am considering making a public server. but it would be running more Mods other than RP. Would you be okay with me doing that? BUT, It will be from my Laptop until I can afford a server.

Thats to bad I really liked that feature from 1.7.0, now my railways are back to 2x1xX , and I can no longer place buttons and switches on the sides of the hollow slabs to power the wire inside - might I ask why you chose to make that change in 1.7.1?
in 1.7.0 if I placed a repeater pointing at a double hollow slab the power would transfer to the jacketed wire inside.
oh something I noticed, that is happening with your repeaters if I point them at a block next to 2 pistons ontop of each other it powers both pistons whereas the normal repeater doesnt. here is a picture of an example the farthest repeater is yours and activates both pistons - this is undesirable behavior, as it makes it impossible to use your repeaters in 3x3 or larger type piston doors.
the same thing happens if I power the block behind the top piston with your wiring
:smile.gif: i have made my bcd chip smaller with array :smile.gif:
So in the video you see my n to 12 bits bcd converter connected to bcd to 7 segment "decoder" .
I can convert anything between 0-999 .
I show you how easy it is to make more input ...more output is just another chip-7 segment copy paste .
the only thing incompatible is the fly mod. and someone posted a patched version anyways
Actually fly, dig, build, and boom are incompatible - and the patched version is for zombe 4.29(which is not longer avialable) not 4.32 - not to mention that this 'compatibility patch' is a bootleg version - meaning that some features and losts, or don't work as well as originally intened
Actually Eloraam, the idea wasn't so fantasy-like as it seems. What you get is a Redstone Timer that points at one of the 4 redstone torches from the Cathode Parts. The dyes shows what weather/time it is. If its pointing at the blue torch on the Weather Sensor, it means that its raining. If it points on the orange torch, it means its sunrise.
And they can also be used for time/weather circuits, like a light tower that turns on at night. Or a hidden chamber that only opens under a thunderstorm. Could use lux maybe?
Eloraam will release sensors soon enough, have some patient mate - she will probably want to include some sort of object that has great sensibility in her recipes, some sort of mystical element which isn't cheap the craft

Eloraam's repeaters send stronger(direct) current, meaning there waaay easier to work with. - you can't dulplicate this with traditional redstone(see pic below)
This feature where you could place buttons on hollow covers, whatever you did eloraam, i want it for every cover that exist besides hollow ones

Impressive, will you be adding any type of ping-pong like action to it?
ive found that it works best to use bundled cables instead of wires

cause then you can set all the lights to turn on at different times

or even have them flash a few times before turning on.
Fancy, i assume the red lights are stoplights - do you plan on adding slow and go lights
as well?

Wall of text annoying me... condensed as much as i could

1. that is exactly what I am talking about, to do any piston contraption which has multiple pistons stacked I have to revert back to using traditional redstone, which of course has its problems, i.e you cannot put a coverplate over a traditional repeater and you cannot run traditional redstone vertically.
2. she removed the ability on hollow covers
Another thing I noticed, is that when I put a cover over one of your logic circuits Eloraam, it causes the cover to appear lighter thatn the surrounding blocks, i.e. it looks like the cover itself is giving off light.
Sorry that I already has said this once, but Eloraam didn't see my post.
I saw it, I just didn't respond. Extremely specific suggestions aren't something I'm looking for. The suggestion can stop at "weather sensor", and frankly should.

in 1.7.0 if I placed a repeater pointing at a double hollow slab the power would transfer to the jacketed wire inside.
That behavior was actually due to a pretty serious bug in jacketed wires. The bug has been corrected.
I'm starting to consider the idea of some sort of conductive cover, or perhaps a conductive block, for cases where you really need things like that, but there are surprisingly few cases like that in practice.
I tend to add things when I really feel that there's a lack, as I'm playing with things. That's why the jacketed bundle got added.
oh something I noticed, that is happening with your repeaters if I point them at a block next to 2 pistons ontop of each other it powers both pistons whereas the normal repeater doesnt.
That's because the piston and the normal repeater are both broken.
Try something for me: make the bottom piston with the regular repeater extend while you have both the repeaters on (say, place a NOT gate next to it). Now break the NOT gate. Notice that the piston gets stuck in the on position?
RedPower doesn't suffer from this bug, because my updater is a lot smarter.

I've been chasing that bug for a while, but it's proving difficult to resolve. Logic tiles all emit light, so they tend to light up their covers too.

I don't suppose the forge will be doing any bug fixes like this then. I presume Mojang hasn't addressed the bugs because outside of Redpower they are working as intended (ie: the bug isn't noticeable)? I had noticed this behavior (from a more bizarre situation), but I assumed it was the engine, not RP.
It doesn't even have to be a repeater, even a wire that indirectly powers a piston through another block will cause this to happen. I'm using that glitch to make the footprint for my doors smaller until it gets fixed (or not).

A conductive cover would be exactly what I would love to see, there are alot of things I was building before I updated from 1.7.0 to 1.7.1 that were making use of that "bug", now I have to tear down alot of my designs, and they wont be nearly as space efficient.

yeah I have noticed that before, I just wish there was a way to use your redpower to wire my stacked pistons without the bottom pistons activating too.
alot of my builds use alot of pistons.
I would like to make a request for another circuit, the circuit I am looking for would power on "instantly" but maintain power for a period after the switch is turned off. kind of like your repeater except for the fact that power would pass through without the initial delay.
I want to thank you for all the hard work you have put into your mods, they have improved my gameplay experience several times over. I dont think I could go back to just using vanilla redstone.

You're looking for a timer next to an RS latch. If you want to stretch the off-time, you can use the variant with a buffer gate added to those two instead.

yeah I have it working in game like this
I was just kinda hoping for a bit smaller solution.
Anyway, didnt relise you updated to 1.7.1 :tongue.gif:

You sure you have the right version? Also, you have to install Wiring to get the saw.

Night view of the street lights so far:

I finally got around to using the sequencer with wireless redstone to reduce the foot print of each street light.

And also, the zombe's fly mod patch for... something... as well?
