How on earth do people keep up with this thread moves so fast. Anyways I sent Eloraam a pm asking this few days ago not received a reply assume don't check pm's fair enough amount of spam they must get.
I would like to release my RP2 texture pack on the Planet minecraft site but they say I need permission from the mod maker. So If it is ok can I post it there please.
Eloraam has no issue with texture packs. I would quote her, but I can't find/be bothered to find the post where she mentioned it(I think it is around page 500.)
Also Enlightened, I am not sure if you saw or not, but there is a mod called Better Sound Mod that adds sound dampening based off of material and distance.
There is a rare mythical button called "Search" that likes to answer questions; however, due to its nature, it often blends in with its surroundings so as to remain hidden.
In other words, he wasn't running him down, he was confused about the guy's word choice (seems like the guy said "implements" when he was intending "complements", which are two completely different words).

Its in the copyright found on her block under the download section, its completely fine, its completely fine to retexture all mods unless otherwise stated, i think that's a forum rule, not sure.
@Jobs2k sarcasm overload, and you missed the point of my post - which was ironically pointing out how you missed the point of the dudes second post and what he was actually talking about, instead you made random thoughts that looked similar to his thoughts appear
Also, if i've offended you in anyway sorry - I am stated my opinions and beliefs
As to reporting.. mate i said you were putting his moral down... not shooting it out of the god damn like a peasent just to cook his soul and eat it later, why the heck would that even cross your mind?

The particular permission you need is right on Eloraam's blog:
As a special exception, art assets (sprites, terrain textures) may be distributed intact or in modified form solely for the purpose of improving or altering the visible appearance of RedPower (ie as a “texture pack”). They may not be reused for any other purpose.

It used to stand for Excessively Asked Questions... now it may as well stand for Extremely Annoying Questions... because even though Eloraam took the time to answer all the most common problems, in a single, easy to find place... Idiot's still ask them, time and time again.
I wouldn't call it easy to find. For one thing, the guy you were responding to didn't know about it. I think some big red text pointing to a link to it at the top of the first post of this thread would help, though.
There used to be such text at the top of the op, but the forum redesign has removed most of the formatting.

But wiring up the logic for the tri-state cycle of the farm was a bear; I found myself wanting a part that had 1 input with 2 outputs and a control line to indicate which output to connect to the input. (Obviously I'm not much of a hardware guy since I don't know what this is called.) I'm hoping the new additions to Logic will make this easier. I'd be interested to know if anyone has a clever way of wiring a tri-state sequencer where the trit is represented with three wires, one for each state. My solution is rather ungainly.
The State Cell is great for most sequencing setups, I think it'll be very useful for that.

I love this mod for making sorting systems however, it has bugged me with the new thermopile only accepting red-power copper, and as i had to disable copper spawn for it coz of IC2 i have to "cheat" to exchange the copper, this is odd as the other machines also accept IC2 or BC.
I meant to fix that a while ago.. The next release will fix it.
why do my redpower lamps give the flickerinng light as the torches give :/ shouldnt the redpower lamps give a solid lighting instead of flickering like a torch
Because Minecraft doesn't give me any other options without completely rewriting the lighting system.
Well, even a slab would be nice - obviously means using up another block ID, but with 4000+ available soon, that wouldn't be the problem it once was ....
Anyway, just a thought, thanks for the reply.
A lot of things that I was avoiding to try to keep RedPower lean on block IDs, are going to see the light of day now that IDs aren't quite so tight. I'm not going to go crazy and use hundreds or anything, but I also won't worry about it if future version of RedPower creep up to 50 IDs or so.
That's the biggest obstacle to a solution, in fact. Those with a complete lack of humility and accountability will never accept that the mistake may be due to some action or inaction on their part. So they won't ever accept that they need to do it again, and differently this time. They won't admit that they need to put more effort into properly understanding and following the steps. Therefore, they'll never be prepared to accept the right answer.
Indeed, I personally always start under the assumption that computer errors I encounter are my fault, and due to something I myself screwed up. It's an assumption that's almost always true.
Of course, once in a while, I run into something that's genuinely not my fault. Like when the tube system was ceasing to operate during initial testing of the Retriever - after spending a day chasing down the bug, I found out that it was caused not by any fault in my own code, but a bug in the Java JIT itself. I added some workarounds for the bug, and it works fine now.
... I was covertly suggesting eloraam add a "soundproof" foam, that placed similar to jacked wire, you could place covers on it to sound proof an area - It was "soundproof" an area by tricking the noise around it that it was 100 blocks away, of course there would need to be a soundproof door, otherwise a room would be pointless with no enterence. And it fits into redpower because it allows noisy inventions to be moved into a more compact area.
I like the suggestion, but it's probably really difficult.
I think the accelerators are pretty awesome. The speed of items in the tubes wasn't exactly slow to begin with so this is pretty cool. I just hope it won't take too much energy.
They don't draw too much power, and they only take power at the accelerators, not at each point along the magtube itself.

There is a mod called The Better Sound Mod that does exactly that. It is compatible with forge, optifine, and audiomod. It also works great with matmos, making it so the environment blends in even better.

You said you didn't "want to be that guy", and then you went ahead and did it anyhow.
Don't presume to take the moral high ground when your lack of shame is only eclipsed by your lack of ability to read the OP (or to comprehend how mod development works).
Unless you're a total moron, you understand that this mod requires Modloader, Modloader MP, and Forge. Do you have 1.2-compatible versions of those yet? If not, why are you asking for something you can't use?

That's ok.
Just wait to see all the rage when EVERY mod has to move over to Bukkit in a month or two.
Not to mention that they said they're going to be rolling out the integrated server api before any work on a clientside mod api will happen.
So for at least a major version, we're likely to see authors having to support two completely different versions of their mods just to have multiplayer.
Fun times ahead.
Ok Read the EAQ. No good for my question. Config is good. Even if I did make x and got y. I used TMI to give the item to me. Block breaker that is. ID 250 : 1 and the Miing well is ID 150. When I spawn Block breaker is tries to act like a mining well. Not only that when I break it it becomes a Deployer untill I replaceit then it becomes a Item Detector? Any thoughts on this?

OK Used TMI the first time to get Block Breaker. Second time I made it. Got a Mining well from BC? ID problems?
Although Eloraam does not have it in her OP.. don't quote the OP.
not cool. and whats more its absolute spam. Reported >:/
copy the client redpower config over top of the server one
EAQ?? what is that

Yep, that's a case where a deprecated interface was removed at something other than a major version update. Use an older version of Forge for now.
I meant to fix that a while ago.. The next release will fix it.

I deprecated it myself, but I hadn't completely purged all mentions from RedPower until now.
On the other hand, we're not supposed to be removing deprecated interfaces except on minecraft version updates...

Yes, the OP is broken. Curse updated the forum somehow, and broke it. I'll see if I can fix it.
For a texture pack? Sure, why not.
