Thanks BB for the update! and I read the info about the .props file, which solves my problem with trying to open my chest crashing my game. I have log tables in there. :wink.gif:
The problem I found with making unofficial updates was that you'll encounter the same problems, questions and pressure (of fixing a fatal bug in time) as the original coder from the testers. But I'm GLAD to see a potential active updater of the mod.
Can I ask if you can also update Syrup's Reassembler mod? It would be nice if you do. I know Java, but I haven't yet figured out how to update ModLoader-based mods to later versions (but I'll still see if I can).
In some sense I'm lucky to work in the software industry so I'm used to people complaining about bugs and features. Lucky because I've become very desensitized towards it :smile.gif: I'll update mods as needed and when they are ready.
As to updating other mods written by Syrup - until I get a response about official updates I'm wary to convert more mods. I don't want to seem like I'm taking over all the mods and I already feel like I'm trespassing in another's territory. The 2 mods I've updated are more 'necessary' since many people could not load their maps without them - the reason I started this was so I could load my own map.
I have the same problem, but I don't understand how you would go about fixing it.
Stained glass will probably survive translation as the actual color is stored with the block and is ignored in regular glass. Once the stained glass mod is installed those values are used again. If you have any issues please post them here with details so I can fix the problems.
If you're looking for decorative suggestions, might I nominate ropes - vertical or horizontal. I've had this hankering to create dwellings in the sides of an overhang and rope bridges connecting them would be killer :smile.gif: Also, is there a way to make vertical ropes act like ladders (gym class!)? Perhaps that's beyond the scope of this mod, but I thought it was nifty anyway :biggrin.gif:
Ok BB, this is what I've discovered playing with your update:
chairs no longer place down with the back towards you. they're sort of sideways now. No big deal, just means I have to rethink where I'm standing when I place them. Ditto for panels. One issue I'm having is paper & bone lanterns. They used to hang from ceilings & ceiling chains, they no longer do. This means I can't make my hanging lanterns of DOOOOOOOM, which are actually pretty cool, and I miss them. I used to be able to hang a chain from the ceiling, put up a paper or bone lantern, hang a chain under that, add another lantern, you get the drift!
oh, and unless I break my items with a pickaxe, everything disappears.
Thanks for all the hard work!
By the way: stained glass worked great, no issues at all!

I did notice the chair and panel thing, I do need to fix it cause it is a little annoying. Luckily it doesn't impact chairs and panels placed before the update. I'll look at the lantern issue when I get home. Thanks for the feedback! This is the kind of 'bug' reporting I like
There is no texture for the fancystone in the newest version which causes the game to crash after the mojang screen. Disabling (tuning to 0), or adding my own fancystone.png to the jar fixes the problem.
I played with the updated version for a little this morning, and I can confirm Road blocks only give a speed boost when traveling north-south or vice versa. Also, the new fences seem to work properly but they take only one swipe of any tool to break - I tested with shovels, pickaxes, axes and swords on a few different kinds of the new materials. Lastly if anyone is using this mod with Bukkit/ItemCraft the ICFancyPack plugin will need updated before these new items will work properly - not only are there crashes when you create new furniture, the itemID changes (fences and furniture namely) make it so you now have chairs instead of wall slabs, etc. This is an issue with ItemCraft, not FancyPack, so it may be wise to hang onto Update 5 for now until ItemCraft gets updated. The author is usually pretty good about keeping up on existing plugins so it's a matter of time I'd assume.
Great work and thank you BB - these new additions are going to be a blast :smile.gif:

Just an oversight on your part, no biggie!
Whoops, I'll update ASAP
... OK, fixed version with the texture is now available (9:04 AM CST)

The breaking-in-one-hit thing I'll fix this evening, I'll look into the road problems also
hey BB, thanks for the ultra-quick fixes! I now have very cool looking lamp posts. I have a request, if it's not too much of a pain...
I would love it if I could make furniture out of dyed wool. Or for that matter, stained glass. The various minerals just don't let me do my interior decorating with that special flair. :wink.gif:

Do-able but definitely adds a large number of block IDs - granted they can be toggled off. I'll add it to my 'if I have enough time and enough people want it' pile

First off, welcome! Here are some answers/tips:
BEFORE MODDING - I suggest either playing around in a new world OR BACKING UP YOUR CURRENT ONE. Just in case :smile.gif:
Properties files are flaky and totally up to the developer as to where they are located or if they even exist at all
In this case you will find the properties file located in the %APPDATA%\.minecraft\config folder. Simply open the RUN dialog from the start menu and type in "%APPDATA%\.minecraft\config" WITHOUT the quotes. In there is the config file for this mod called "mod_FancyPack.cfg"
The config file contains a list of properties like "TableID" which defines the BLOCKID for the table blocks
BLOCKIDs are numbers from 0-255 which identify a block. You can set it to any number in this range as long as another block does not occupy that slot. MODLOADER will inform you when this occurs in the ModLoader log file in the "%APPDATA%\.minecraft" folder
If you get a conflict - simply change the Id for one of the conflicting blocks
NOTE - changing a blockId while you have a world with that block in it will change that block in the world. FOR EXAMPLE: I have TableID set to 100 and I change it to 101. All the tables in the world will no longer display as there are no blocks with 101 placed
Good luck!
For more info I recommend hitting up the WIKI or using the SEARCH feature for this forum

the .cfg files in that directory are plain ol' text files - use NOTEPAD or any text editing program to open them
Hmm, all right! Suggestions I've thought up over the past day:
- Carpets would be really cool. You could either make them with just flat colors (red, yellow, etc.) If you're capable, you could get fancy with them; make bear rugs and all sorts of different things. : ) To keep them from taking up blockIDs, maybe they could be an item, like paintings? Which you can place on the floor instead.
- Different kinds of beds? They wouldn't change the bed function itself. But maybe just the appearance, like the ability to make a futon, sleeping bag, etc.
- A few more pieces of furniture, like a couch, loveseat, stool...
- If you really had some time on your hands, you could add an armor/weapon rack, that a player might be able to display their stuff on. (To make it easier, it could be a block that's crafted from, say, planks and a sword/helmet/etc. and then the sprite itself would be displaying the items, but it wouldn't actually be functional. ie: you couldn't take stuff off it or place stuff back on it.)
These are suggestions that have all ready been done in other mods (that I've seen), but I think they'd be great to implement/include with Fancy Pack:
- Something like wurstknife's mod, where you can make books, and place them in a bookshelf? This might be too much of a pain, but it's there to think about.
- Display cases
EDIT
MEGA Conflicts with BetterBlocks, will try and fix if not i'll pick one or the other
I'm running FancyPack with BetterBlocks, (and several other mods) and haven't seen any problems. If you've deleted the META-INF, and minecraft doesn't give you an error report, go look in the config/properties files of your other mods and see if there is an ID conflict.
PS: love the addition of lapis furniture!
