Poll: What do you think?
Ended May 15, 2014
...or something like that.
Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about this conflict right now, but I'm working on it. Things will get shook up once the modding API starts coming out, too.. no telling what fun that will be. Heh :unsure.gif:
Infinities, do you know of a way to get this mod working? I don't know if you've seen Risugami's thread, but Modloader crashes Minecraft instantly now, and i really am wanting to download this mod. Have any suggestions?
NOW!
ModLoader crashing? Well that's not good. Use an older version. I don't really know which of all the versions listed is the previous version or if that was for MC 1.0.0 though. Here's a link -- I think -- to ModLoader as it was at the time I last released ControlPack. Try it?

I just tried that one, and it opens the game like usual, let's me log in, and goes through the starting menu with Mojang's icon and everything. When it gets to that screen though, it takes a really long time, and eventually shows a crash report that closes the game before i have time to see/copy what it says.
NOW!
Ok, I guess that was the wrong one, sorry :smile.gif: I sent you a PM with an easier solution.
I'm willing to test as that is my biggest hope for the future of this mod.
Thanks! I sent you a PM with info.
Which is why I'm really sad right now, because it suddenly stopped working for me after a crash.
It's likely just my computer derping in which case I'll just have to do a system restore, but I thought I'd ask to see if you have a solution.
My Minecraft is MCPatched, and for mods, I have Modloader, CJB's Mod Pack, ConvenientInventory and TMI. I don't think there are any incompatibilities because it used to work.
What happens is after I log in, it'll get to the Mojang screen then Minecraft will minimize. I can't bring it back up, and the only thing I can do is close it. (Which strangely enough, I can do just right clicking; I don't have to end process or anything)
I've tested all the other mods one by one so I'm sure it's ControlPack.
If you can offer a solution, I'd double love you forever as MC without this isn't Minecraft anymore. I can't play it without this.
Hmm. Odd indeed :smile.gif: It almost sounds like it could be the auto window restore feature going haywire. The controlpack.txt file in your minecraft folder stores the last known window coordinates and size. You could try either just deleting controlpack.txt or opening it up and turning off that feature (the name of it should be obvious and you'd replace true with false). Let me know if that helps?
Where is it?
Guess I may as well just post it here. Here you go! What you do is install this last, overwriting the conflicting forge class. It contains duplication of the Forge code but in a way that doesn't require Forge.

Thanks!
For example, apparently using a sword on dirt is slightly faster than using your hand. Hmf. Ok. So, if you swipe at dirt and you don't have a shovel, would you want it to use your sword or not? I sure wouldn't. So what then describes when you would like to use your sword, if it's not just 'when it would be faster to do so'?
You'd probably say just on cobwebs, or a few other specific blocks (like fences). The problem with that is it's a hard coded solution, and your blocks might not be what other people like, and it won't scale with other mods that add new blocks or tools.
Thoughts?
Yes! It was a huge success! Deleted the .txt to be safe, added in the classes and it opened up properly. <3 Thanks so much1
FIRST IMPROVED CHAT AFTER ControlPack.
this is working for me! but it could be lost some IMPROVED CHAT feature.
Come to think of it, coordinates and waypoints are also used by Rei's Minimap, except Rei's Minimap does em better. Are there any known conflicts with Rei's Minimap?
Otherwise, sounds like a pretty slick mod.
Please read the compat section of the post. Most of the modified Minecraft files are optional in ControlPack, and you only lose the corresponding features, just like you've guessed. No conflict with Rei's Minimap, and the waypoints aren't meant to be in competition with it. They are just a simple way of keeping track of stuff w/o a heavy weight minimap mod.
