I only have one problem with this mod (besides no forge, but that will be fixed soon enough ). I think that you should make it so note blocks and jukeboxes aren't muffled by sound. This can be quite tedious. I tried to play FVDisco's Sonic the Hedgehog map, and I could hear nothing at the start.
In real life, it is definitely possible to hear loud enough noises through walls (i.e.: music, knocking, talking, and sometimes footsteps). While it isn't as loud as it would normally be, it surely isn't inaudible. I think that you should make music or sounds that go through blocks 50% quieter (with the exception of glass, which could be 40% quieter) for every block in between you and the source. If you don't understand, I mean that if a zombie growls in a room right next to me, and the walls are only one block wide, he would be 50% quieter. However, if the walls were two blocks wide, I wouldn't hear him at all. I think that this would be much better and it would not make it so hard to hear music or sounds in other rooms.
Can confirm. The lwjgl, even if I try to get the newest version from the lwjgl official website will create this bug. Basically you can't click and move at the same time.
i can also confirm this, while moving clicking anything will stop movement until you let go of the key and press it again, it is lwjgl not your mod though
EDIT: also shift clicking stacks no longer works
Hi, and thanks for your great work ! I've only one question for you : is that normal that in the current version of your mod I can't hear echoes in caves ? Maybe you have removed this effect ? I use Forge, but I've tried without Forge and it didn't change anything...
Thank you (in advance) for your answer, and keep it up !
Same here.

Updated to minecraft v1.5.0. I've also just updated the lwjgl files to the nightly version 1.9.0 (revision 1904) to avoid any more confusion with movement/mouse input bug since it doesn't seem there's going to be an official 1.9.0 release any time soon.
I downloaded the LWJGL update for Mac OSX (Titled "lwjgl_2.9.0_r1904_bin_macosx.zip") and installed it, moving the contents of the .zip to the /bin folder. I then downloaded the mod and installed it, moving all the files to minecraft.jar. I opened Minecraft, and nothing changed. All the sounds were exactly what they normally are, no reverb. Even worse, as soon as I exited from fullscreen mode by pressing F11, the camera spazzed out of control, spinning really fast towards the top right. I am able to regain control of the mouse by toggling "invert mouse" on and off.
I expect the mouse spazzing is caused by LWJGL, but I can not explain why the mod doesn't work.

Hi Draake, may you please answer me ? Thank you in advance.
At one point I did have a crude dynamic reverberation system in pace, but there were a lot of cases where it added it inappropriately (or not at all). I also received a lot of performance complaints and it caused a lot of compatibility issues (it touched all the majorly modded classes), so I ended up removing it, pending the addition of the minecraft modding api.

As I posted above, reverb is exclusive to the nether/the end (for now), while the attenuation of sounds is universal. If doesn't work there, however, I'm not quite sure what to say.

Nope, reverb doesn't work in the nether either. Dunno what I did wrong. Minecraft also crashes upon exiting to the main menu, so I just reinstalled my previous LWJGL stuff.

Download the newest LWJGL from the nightly build.

We are using 2.9.0. Works flawlessly.

Unfortunately, you're stuck on the bottom...amongst the bones of the stupid.

This is one of those "rare" (or really anything sound related) forge compatibility issues, unfortunately.

I don't think it does, at least not for me. The zombies are moaning again in my basement.
I also have this error in Magic Launcher:
Missing class member: public (Ljava/io/File;)V a, class: bjw, mod: better_sound_mod_alpha-v0.0.16.zip
I would love to try out this mod.
Btw: Is this compatible with Auditori?

But: RL is more important, especially if you are celebrating Easter.
So just update the mod, when you really have time to do so.
