Unfortunately it has already happened. Jeb tweeted that he's piled under the emails now and to not expect any more responses, at least for now.
It's a good thing you slipped that through when you did. :wink.gif:

OK, for anyone who wants it (MineCrak, if no-one else), here is the final CC version for 1.8.1. No more work on 1.8.1 in the forseeable future. Note however that it has not yet been tested... This download may include Forge, as I put all modified files (that aren't from another mod) that are in my 1.8.1 Minecraft.jar into this download. For some reason, ModLoader classes didn't get included with Forge, so you will still need to install ModLoader first.
EDIT: an unusual number of Forge classes were included, but not nearly all of them. So you will still need to install ModLoader, then Forge, then CC.
This version includes: lighting fixes for Redstone Repeaters and Paintings, NoteBlock playing fixes, lag fixes (especially effective on Creative, for some reason), Nether, and a debug key on F6 that kills all entities except players, paintings, minecarts, and boats. It will kill all mobs, including wolves, and dropped items. I left it in because pressing it (and therefore killing most entities) often increases my FPS by 10 or so. Does anyone else get this FPS boost?
Also, here is RMob final for 1.8.1. It includes fun a little surprise: try pressing F7... Press again to return...
The world I'm testing in is a world with basically Vanilla terrain (thanks to the settings file), but I just found a crazy mountain spire reaching up to 190!
@BlueBarn: Ok, I'll make the better-terrain a plugin for CC, starting MC1.0.0.
@Daniel_l94: Thanks for telling me. +1
@kinnikinnick: I'm working on it, though I'm focusing more on updating right now. Plus a few 1.8.1 bugfixes. I'm still using it, you know, and midnight paintings and repeaters are quite annoying...
Also, if you want to work on CFCR, I'd give you what I've got so far. It kind of halfway works...
@Mr_Frogwise:
1. It's roughly the same as vanilla, except that occasional iron deposits can be found above sea level, redstone is slightly less common, and large deposits of sandstone (with occasional embedded ores) are scattered throughout. And maybe a few other tweaks, but...
2. 16X16X16 cubes required me to re-write cave generation. This makes caves generate more frequently at the same terrain settings, but other than that, the main difference from Vanilla is that caves seem to go vertical more frequently. Mineshafts and stongholds shouldn't be affected (though I haven't actually seen one yet), though that depends on what terrain settings you use.
3. CC has definitely been known to generate floating islands, though depending on what settings you use, they tend to be infrequent. Same for tall mountains. To quote myself further up this post: "The world I'm testing in is a world with basically Vanilla terrain (thanks to the settings file), but I just found a crazy mountain spire reaching up to 190!"
4. Some report that CC runs faster than Vanilla, some report that it runs slower. For me, it's about the same, just 2000 times taller. And no, it is not yet compatible with Optifine.
5. There is a 30-50 block deep lava lake at the bottom of CC worlds, with bedrock at the bottom of that. I forget exactly how deep it is, though...
@Sllypper: Mostly right, thogh one or two errors.
@marcopolo1613: "terraria just got a MASSIVE update that more than doubled the content of the game (4 new bosses, 222 new items, etc.)" Cool.
@AznaktaX: Thanks.
@creator4: Thank you too.
@The Snoo: Thanks. :biggrin.gif: I've tried emailing Mojang (esp. Notch, but also Jeb) before, and nothing has come of it...
@marcopolo1613: Precisely! Thanks for saying exactly what I keep thinking!
just saw 4096BlockIDs stand alone coming soon... thank you for listening!! you rule!! :smile.gif:
I wont have to dump forge mods for 1.0. However dumping BTW helped... shame I have to dump it anyways.
I really like how tall the mountains can get in MC 1.0, but you run into the same old problem in vanilla. You find a nice large mountain next to a village and want to build a large menacing tower on top of the mountain over-looking the village.. But you can only go up about another 8 blocks from the top of that mountain...
Thank RMob for the Cubic Chunks Mod! :biggrin.gif:
btw Robinton; I really like how you name the RMob add-on file now. That's inspired!

I've got 4096_IDs working, except for one little problem: Forge is not yet updated, hence no infinite sprites...
I guess I'll save my IDs progress in a separate folder that'll be ready for Forge updating, and start on updating CC. I'm really looking forward to Threaded Save File coding... Seriously.
@ADEdge: Thanks. :biggrin.gif: And I'm working on updating.
And I'm sure that I fixed that bug at some time or another... Do you have the latest version? If so, I'll have to release a fix.
Im using the test5 patch on CC 1.8.1, so Im guessing thats the most up to date version. I had a hunch it might have been because I was using a vanilla world converted to CC, but after starting a new world the issue remained. So yeh, pretty terrible, all that free straw :wink.gif: *drowns in bread*
If anyone else could confirm their also having the issue related to farming mentioned just below (quote from my post a week ago), thatd be good.
*Edit* Should also mention, Ive encountered a bug with CC 1.8.1, is there a place to report these?
Its with growing crops, when you replant a seed, it seems to want to 'grow' whatever was last on that piece of soil. ie when I replant seeds after harvesting, I get fully grown crops straight away. I even had one strange case where I planted a seed and it made a crop with a wood texture, I think this was because previously there had been a wooden fence in that place.
Another problem Ive encountered is that beds arent working at all. You get into one at night, it fades to black and you wake up again and its still night. I know 1.8 was a bit dodgy already when it came to beds, but Ive tried every trick in the book to get beds working but it just doesnt seem to want to.
Would be good if someone else could also confirm this. Seems odd this hasnt been mentioned before, so I feel like it might just be my minecraft messing up (Ive tried reinstalling CC with the T5 update and everything from scratch, but these issues still happen)
Also whats with this 4096 block ID's Im seeing mentioned so often? Its another way to have a height setting of 4096? Is this worked on by Robinton or someone else?
And again, thanks for all your work Robinton, very much appreciate it and the results are making minecraft a much better experience. Great to hear the better terrain will be a optional plugin for CC as well! :smile.gif:
Robinton, I cant't wait to see 4096 Block ID's coming for v1.0.0 :biggrin.gif:
Awesome news indeed mate! VERY happy :biggrin.gif: Haha. Man, so many possibilities now. It will also make assigning block IDs for mods easier :wink.gif: Haha.
Great to see the work continuing. I've just tried the last 1.81 CC update and I can't seem to get it working.
1. Fresh 1.81 Jar, Delete Meta.Inf, Install Modloader then install V1.5.3_T6_B1.8.1 = Black Screen
2. Fresh 1.81 Jar, Delete Meta.Inf, Install Modloader then Minecraft Forge 1.1 then install V1.5.3_T6_B1.8.1 = Black Screen
So not real certain why. Tried with the No.2 due to V1.5.3_T6_B1.8.1 does not include the Forge Directory. Any thoughts?
At the moment I can't seem to run Minecraft more than 5 minutes with CC (1.81 with the test 5 version) before running out of memory. Might be due to running 32 bit operating system even though I have set the memory to to 1280 max/min your thoughts appreciated.
On another note. I used to run a mod called IDList in which the last version was for 1.73 which was incredibly useful for solving ID conflicts Is there any chance that you could incorporate this with the 4096 ID mod? See Spoiler.
@MineCrak: You're welcome. :biggrin.gif:
And yes, I just thanked him. And thanks for the compliment on the naming, which FYI was not invented by RMob. I do have some intelligence, you know. :wink.gif: Enough to root him out of the .jar if I want, anyway...
@ADEdge: The crop and bed bugs should be fixed now, in T6. The bed bug was my fault; I moved the time variable initialization 5 lines too early, and forgot to update it when the player sleeps... To warn you, the T6 download apparently doesn't work yet (though its code has been very thoroughly debugged), so I haven't put it on the OP yet...
You're welcome.
@Wa_delma: Correct.
@madindehead: Thanks.
@astromutt: Ah! That's true! Hmm... I've updated the instructions on installing T6, but I don't know why it is crashing... Is there anything in the CubicChunksErrorFile.txt? No, it doesn't generate one... Hmm... Well, I found two unnecessary overwritten classes, but neither one of them was the problem...
I'll try adding RMob.class...
AAARHG! RMOB AGAIN! Here's a patch that allows you to leave RMob out. It is rolled into the main download, but it might be a bit before the file updates in the internet caches.
Meanwhile, I have to update his/its patch to add him/it back in again...
And I'll probably eventually get around to incorporating ID resolver compatibility into 4096_IDs.

we really shouldn't spam him. 500 email saying the same thing would just annoy him. and reading them could take time away from actualy working on minecraft.
You have my eyeballs man... I am finding myself checking back here every time I sit down in front of the computer for the 1.0.0 version of 4096 block mod... I think I may have a problem...
You are the only one I've seen even attempting this, the community is lucky to have you.

Sleeping works now, means I dont have to battle endermen all night to build things without holes developing, but unfortunately I have to actually manage my farm again :biggrin.gif:
Yes, I will definitely have mod compatibility problems. I've already kept wishing that Notch (or now Jeb) would use Block.blocksList.length, instead of hardcoded 256s! If he just did that, 4096_IDs would have to edit about 8 fewer classes.
I will make an SMP version of 4096_IDs roughly when I make an updated SMP version of Cubic Chunks. In otherwords, maybe in two to four weeks, maybe never.
"In the end, I don't care if people will choose your or my mod, I just want to be able to have more than 256 blocks to allow me to use more mods. I hope that the ModAPI that jebs will do in the future, will fix this limitations. But now, it is our work to do this."
Agreed, on all but one account: I never actually get to use the extra BlockIDs, because I never have enough free Minecraft time to accumulate that many mods...
Also, what do you all think of this idea:
Change the data structure, so that the BlockIDs are stored as "short"s. Then, delete the MetaDatas. Thus, we would have 256 times as many BlockIDs. As a downside, Water would have to take up 8 BlockIDs; on the upside, Stone would only have to use 1 BlockID. It would only take up as much save/memory space as 4096_IDs, and access would be significantly faster.
Its only real problem is that no mods would be compatible; Mojang would have to implement it for it to work.
So, I saw this picture and thought, This is awesome, Cubic Chunks Should generate terrain this way! Of course, on a much larger scale, but all the same. I really like the idea of less caves near the surface and huge ones down below, and oceans and magma down and well, everything in the picture.
I found this pic here: linky

Here's a patch that allows you to leave RMob out of T6.
Here is another patch to add him back in.
@MineCrak: You're welcome. :biggrin.gif:
@Wa_delma: Correct.
@madindehead: Thanks.
@astromutt: Ah! That's true! Hmm... I've updated the instructions on installing T6, but I don't know why it is crashing...
Is there anything in the CubicChunksErrorFile.txt?No, it doesn't generate one... Hmm... Well, I found two unnecessary overwritten classes, but neither one of them was the problem...I'll try adding RMob.class...
AAARHG!
@BlueBarn: Welcome.
we really shouldn't spam him. 500 email saying the same thing would just annoy him. and reading them could take time away from actualy working on minecraft.
You are the only one I've seen even attempting this, the community is lucky to have you.
Happy coding!
nothing to see here... move along.
Robinton, you're awesome. MineCrak too.
