Hi, this is my first mod, it works perfectly. It was created by me, but another user, an IRL friend will soon join the project, he has a better coding knowledge than me.
So let's begin, First, I have to say that you can download this mod as the two parts (More Ores and More Blocks) or as one part.
Also note that this mod is still a WiP, post suggestions, I have some ideas, most involve making obsidian easier to get, that will come later when I work out why it's giving me errors :S.
So let's begin!
Note:
The More ores mod contains:
Zilium
Magnetium
The More Blocks mod contains:
The Hurnium Blocks
Cob
The Obsidian Additions
The thing I have looked for but never found in more ores mods is use. Sure you can make the usual set of tools and armor with that new steel ore but what else? Each of the official ores in minecraft have uses iron makes buckets, gold makes powered mine cart tracks, and even diamond can make record players. I think this mod has potential, potential to rise above all the other ore mods, but you will need to make some changes. Magnetium could use some changes, how about it has slightly more durability then iron and breaks stone like wood, but when it comes to ore blocks it cracks through them in less then a second, now thats the pickax I would take in a cave with me! Zillium shouldn't be needed for handles, how about the Zillium handles become Zillium rods and gain the ability conduct lightning? You need to think about this stuff. You'll be amazed at how much things can come out of hard work.

The idea of magnetium is a toolset that you use for clearing out areas and stuff, it has 10, 000 uses and you won't need to replace it for a while.
I am working an new tools (not new materials for tools, new tools, e.g hoe, pickaxe)
I am also working on a lot of new abilities for the new tools, although sadly some will change the minecraft source code...
Anyways i just realised that obisian should give you 9, then if u fill the entire crafting table with obsidian bricks it would make it back into normal obsidian :biggrin.gif:
Hey i was thinking the magnetium would have an effect of helping to find iron or other ores? Since the name suggests magnet?
Or possibly and i think this would be better you could make it so if you were wielding a magnetium tool it would act as a magnet for dropped ores or items so you wouldn't have to be as close to pick up items.

This mod requires Modloader! Get it here!
good start!
and please add more content, tool and armor sets etc.
I can definitely see this as replacing my current ore/block mod if you continue adding to it
PROTIP: Add 1.5_01 to the title (if it's compatible of course).
