I think I'll get this mod back real soon. I recently took it off after it mucked up my Demo World. I tried starting up another Demo World after I stupidly deleted my original one. I just recently got most of my stuff rebuilt, though I spawned some of the items instead of getting them again. (going down the huge chasm was kind of waste, besides the blue stuff, redstone, and two blocks of gold ore, along with even more iron and coal) I'm probably going to wait until either after 1.6 is out or after the next full update (for this mod) is out (if it follows closely enough), since 1.6 apparently will be out next week.
As for the stones mod, I'm probably going to get Rare or Very Rare for now on. Part of the reason my Demo World got mucked up was I used Common, then took it off, hoping the stuff would turn back to stone, but it disappeared instead. Not to mention, everything being fairly common and in huge groups of blocks annoyed the crap out of me, especially stuff like Marble. As for the ores, I have to agree. After finding my first Mithril block, it was getting more common than the Green stuff. Sure, I think I found more iron than Mithril, but the Green stuff should be easier to find than both. Maybe not as easy to find as stone, but a little bit easier to find than iron.
Just so you know, what I mean by Demo World is the world you get in the Demo, which I got before week or two before buying Minecraft. When I originally got on regular Minecraft, I decided to keep playing on that world and built a huge base and it just kept evolving, despite finding very little other than coal and iron, which seem ridiculously common on that map (at least to me). Then again, maybe that's just me.

Not exactly, but I did fall in love and I have not had time lately because of that to work on the mod. I have refined some of the ideas though, and I have a feeling when I do start coding again that I will get a whole lot of work done all at once, but yeah, slow going the past week, but I can assure you the mod is far from finished or dead.

Don't worry, one of my goals is to try my best to "enhance" the existing game experience, not drastically change it. I love Minecraft, I think it already has tons of content, so I'm going to try and make sure that anything I add really adds to the feel of the original game, not take away.
Next update I am going to make the mod 100% compatible with BetterGlass, the mod will still have Reinforced Glass, but you will no longer get glass shards when breaking normal glass to make the mod compatible with BetterGlass.
i think i mentioned this before but it seems like the rate that you mine through mystic stones is not affected by the type of pickaxe you use
meaning that it breaks at the same speed no matter if your using a wood or a diamond pickaxe
which normally would be fine but it feels like a waste when using obsidian picks and such

Unfortunately I can't fix that yet. Either I will have to make the mod ToolsUtils compatible, or I'll have to find some workaround. When I add the mystic ores/stones to the "effective against" list for the pickaxe, the game just crashes whenever you click any block with a pickaxe.
Also, the Minecraft Coder's Pack has been updated to 1.6.5 so I'm now working on updating the mods to the new version. This will take me a few days though, as I'm also going to be adding more content, and trying really hard to get the first version of Mystic Ruins ready also.

Hey man, great mod it looks like... If you have the time, (No rush) do you think you might be able to update it so it works on 1.6.5? If you could it'd be greatly appreciated.
