About Kodaichi's whereabouts: As Kodaichi has been too busy in real life and grown tired of modding/Minecraft (for now until modding becomes less of a hassle come the modding api), I have taken over updating a bunch of his mods, fixing bugs along the way. He is still alive, rest assured.Kodaichi has taken up modding again! Still, I'll maintain these mods for now. To repeat: I (303) am not the author of these mods, I have been given permission to update them. I have been doing this since 1.3_01.
Changes I made in several mods: Made them inherit the proper mob class for their mob type, so they respect their spawn limits instead of spawning in uncontrolled numbers. -- Note for other modders: mobs added as EnumCreatureType.creature need to extend EntityAnimal, monster implement IMob, watercreature extend EntityWaterMob. The class is used for counting how many mobs are already in the world for limiting their spawning. If you get it wrong, your mob spawns without limit (see Humans+ mod pirate fail).
[MODLOADER] -- Needs ModLoader as a dependency.
[AUDIOMOD] -- Needs AudioMod as a dependency. Mod zip contains a RESOURCES/ folder. Put its contents into .minecraft/resources.
[EXT] -- Works with ModLoader's external loading feature. Put the zip without extracting into .minecraft/mods instead of adding its contents to minecraft.jar. If you don't have a mods/ directory already, create it. You can still just add the zip contents to your minecraft.jar instead, however.
[JAR] -- Does not work with ModLoader's external loading. Put the contents of the zip into your minecraft.jar, as usual.
[CONFIG] -- Creates a config file in .minecraft/mods/kodaichi on first run. A common option is rarity: The relative spawn weight for the mob. The higher, the more common. 10 = pigs, 2 = wolves. Can be less than 1 but greater than 0 if you want to reduce the spawnrate even further. 0 to disable the mob from spawning.
Make sure the mod is for the Minecraft version you are using! Minecraft 1.6.6 mods won't work for 1.7 etc.
Quite simply, the Bellthorn is a static enemy mob which atttacks anything other than its own species by launching projectiles in an arc towards its target. It's a living being, and will do a warning dance animation if you get too close. If you dig out from underneath the flower, there's a chance you will get a bulb which you can replant somewhere else. Also, if you hold a bulb in your hand, you will emit the Bellthorn's scent, which will cause other Bellthorns to think you are one of them (which renders them harmless).
Although I did not make or update this mod (yet!), Kodaichi asked me to add his new Bellthorn mod to my archive for the sake of completeness. Questions about it belong in his thread: Link to Kodaichi's Bellthorn thread
Charlotte is a little bit dopey, kind of loud, and a bit high-maintenance, but there's not too many companions out there as helpful as she is. She'll carry weapons for you, fight for you with swords, heal you, and even warn you of nearby danger. She'll follow you to the ends of the earth, and happily sit on your shoulders as you embark on a grand journey. Just be careful to keep both her and yourself alive.
Completely reworked her spawning code. There should be no way of more than one Charlotte in a world, except if you delete the "charlotte" file created in the save folder.
To make Charlotte respawn again after she has died, delete the "charlotte" file.
Based on the pony tail version of Charlotte's model.
MinerTrivia is a quick-tip style thing added to the saving and loading screen. It contains 50 uncommon bits of advice, and adds a little bit of life into the game in a place where it is lacking - instructions.
Writes the splashes to .minecraft/config/mod_Trivia.txt on first run. If you want to change/add/remove splashes, change that file. *prepares for MinerTrivia splash "mods" >_>*
For those of you without enough arachnophobia in your lives, this mod fills the gap. From angry raging mother spiders to crying little baby spiders, there's a whole range of emotions to fuel your nightmares. Attack an entire family for a fun challenge, and take out the mothers to earn spider eggs (which can be used offensively against other enemies).
Made the mod work more nicely with Brood Maidens: before, Brood Maidens sometimes commanded mother spiders to attack their own offspring. Now babies will not be targeted anymore. Only mothers will fight though.
Babies teleport to their mothers like wolves do to the player when they get stuck.
Babies will not despawn if their mother is still alive.
Based on the spider egg patch for throwing farther.
This mod contains Brood Maidens and giant flies. Brood Maidens are a boss mob that spawns at night, has a lot of HP, produces loyal insect followers, and also has a backstory. Giant flies are a docile mob that spawns during the day, makes annoying noises, drops flint or leather, and sometimes muches on animals. Included as well are sound effects, texture files, a new cool weapon, creativity and confusion. There's a lot of gameplay to be had in this mod, and the limit of the player's abilities will be tested. The choice you'll have to make is whether or not the Brood Maiden is hotter than she is frightening.
Brood Maidens despawn on peaceful now.
shockBladeID=7016 (item id for the shock blade)
crownJewelID=7017 (item id for the crown jewels)
trampleCrops=false (whether flies should kill crops when walking over them)
The Fairy Mod has a little something for everyone - while apprearing cute on the outside, the fairies have a very advanced group-oriented AI and change their attitude depending on how you treat them. If you give them flowers they will follow you and be your friend, but if you attack them, all nearby fairies will group up on you and give you one of the harshest beatings you will ever recieve. They can be both a blessing and a curse depending on your style of play, but are harmless as long as you don't slip up and smack one. The Queens have a different personality than the rest of the fairies and serve to make things even more interesting.
Config file: .minecraft/config/mod_Fairy.cfg
Fairies won't trample your crops if they are tamed
The Succubus takes a bold step away from the survival aspect of the game and makes the player really think for a minute about whether or not they'd like to die. In the case of the Succubus, you'll likely "die smiling" as she drains the life out of your body after enticing you with her alluring charms. Being a demon, she has a higher authority over other monsters and can easily get alone with your player. Her attack is also quite different than the rest of the monsters, and she can even slow down the player and force the player to look in her direction. The reward for defeating her is sweet however, earning the player a nice new sword and some well-deserved HP. The Nether also has its own counterparts. This mod is certain to light up the night in your Minecraft world.
Config file: .minecraft/config/mod_Succubus.cfg:
hellRarity=2 (for hell succubi)
despawnCompetitors=true (despawn nearby hostile mobs when spotting the player)
Originally intended to be a joke, I accidentally put too much effort into this cat/catgirl mob and it turned into something that people actually enjoyed. Cats are found in nature and partially aggressive towards the player, but through a steady diet of pure fresh cow's milk, their relationship with you will grow and flourish. As they begin to like you more, your connection becomes clearer through the use of onscreen statistics and they will fight enemies for you as well as follow you around. They aren't the best travelling companions though, simply because they are distracted much, much too easily, often leading to their tragic demise.
These were made back in a time when slimes only existed theoretically, so I decided to give people a little taste of the squashy monsters without destroying the delicate fabric of the game. These slimes are much different than the regular slimes in that they only spawn on beaches, and they attach themselves to the player's head to attack. Little slimes are still harmless, so a player can wear one as a hat. In addition, brain slimes stack on top of each other instinctually to deal more damage output, so a large collection of brain slimes can lead to the formation of an incredibly awesome hat. Just be careful that they don't suck you dry - their pouncing attack is fierce and they will follow you relentlessly.
Spawning is drastically reduced, especially in the nether.
The whirlwinds are a strange entity added to plains and desert areas in the regular world. They can materialize and dematerialize randomly, and also have a tendency to pull random items out of the ground - mostly common, but sometimes valuable. Be careful though, besause anything caught in its winds will be spun around and hurled out in a random direction, dealing a bit of damage from the fall.
A gift to all of the Rana fans, this mod started out as a polygon/model complexity test and grew into something slightly useful. It attempts to mimic the original Rana mod in the closest way possible, while implementing the new string teather feature just so players can have some fun with the useless mob. It's important that you realize what this mod is supposed to accomplish before you think about downloading it. Rana was originally an incomplete mob that got scrapped, so she remains incomplete in the remake I produced.
Drastically reduced spawning.
Config file: .minecraft/config/mod_Rana.cfg
spawnLimit=50 (max number of ranas in the world at a time)
groupSize=5 (Ranas spawn in groups at least the size of this)
groupVariation=5 (random variation of the group size in addition to minimum)
While some could argue that the game should have had fully controllable pigs from the start, this mod does far more than you would expect. Besides being controllable by the player, this also lets monster mount pigs, and even better, allows towers of pigs to be ridden. Various funny things can results from riding your giant pig towers, and more pigs make it harder to control. One pig is fine though, and it's enough to help you have that fantasy creeper pig race you've always dreamed of.
ZOMFG 303, how dare you be so awesome?
I mean, these are such cool mods (big thanks to Kodaichi!), and
you all updated them .. thank you sooo much!
The Pink Slimes doesn't work for me :/
I raised there rarity value, but they just don't appear on my beaches ..
I made a new world, but nothing .. and I searched like 10.000 beaches to find them.
Every other mod works perfectly fine, thanks alot again! =)
