What I don't understand is why didn't they do that in the first place... why limit your own dang game. I think perhaps someone thought that this game would flop? Notch "aw screw it leave it @ 256 this isn't going anywhere anyway"
O forgot to mention... going to test this out until 1.2 any advice on this mod pack?
At first 256 blocks seemed like plenty. Then when they wanted more they found limits were very hard to get around without messing things up. Like the 1.2 has 4096 block IDs not but no caves.
This will be fixed, but will take some time.
Notch didn't think it was worth the trouble back then. Now with so many great mods more IDs are very much needed.
So now everything is being setup to make expanding Minecraft much easier now and in the future.
1.2 will be a blast. Who knows how amazing things will get in the future?
Can u show me screenshots of your unzip AMCO??? Because the installer here is in unzip mode, and when i run it with java it doesn't run... (Sorry for BAD english haha)

This is what I see when I unzip the file. wait a few seconds then open the folder sometimes the system does not see the .jar @ first.

Sorry Srgrim3 I misread what you typed. I am busy here. Anyway if your zip program is opening the installer.jar instead of Java opening it then you need to right click the installer.jar and select *open with...* option. Select from the drop down menu *Java*. If you do not see java in the drop down menu then direct it to where your javaw.exe is by selecting *Choose Program...* and then clicking the *Browse...* button. In my case my javaw.exe is here (C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin) Once you have javaw.exe in the list just click the ok button. Installer window should then pop up. This is for Windows XP not sure how to do it on any other system.
Jars can ither be regarded as Zips or even programs. You could, in effect, put all that junk in minecraft.jar in a zip. But not be able to do anything else with it.
Have you considered implementing Railcraft v3.3.1 and Steve's Carts v1.1.0 into AMCO? They should be compatible with AMCO, but I'm installing them right now, so I can't say for certain.

As an update, I got error codes HERP DERP
BUT, I decided to learn more on the ID system and conflict resolution
So, without further delay, here's the unused ID blocks as of AMCO standard
NOTICE-1: I installed the Cart-Mod (Current Version)
That mod utilizes 4657-4660
So there would be 15 spots out of the 001-255 Block List that are Free
Apparently Notch is going to move the Block Limit up to 4096 from 255, but that's expected in v1.2
NOTICE-2: Also, Eloraam hasn't updated the ID List on the Forge for ShaRose's ID-Resolver, so Red Power tends to conflict with larger mods installed over AMCO standard.
Now all that said and done...

Minecraft should load to the main-menu
~If not...
1) Uninstall the Railcraft archive from .minecraft/mods/ folder
2) Restart Minecraft
3) Load a Map and Open your Inventory
4) Select "Show Unused IDs" in the Options Menu for NEI (May have to scroll down/up once for NEI's GUI to appear)
5) Locate unused IDs (Use Vines for Thumbnail) (May have to select "On" or "Auto" under "Visible IDs" in NEI Options Menu)
6) Edit Block IDs in Railcraft.cfg accordingly
Goodluck, I haven't loaded a world yet, cause its almost 1AM here in Chicago, so tell me if anything odd pops up!
