thanks kirakum, it helps some, atleast its playable now, some trains still not working, can live without them, will report anymore crashes when I find them, will it let me have more than one train out at a time.....
Overheating is a bad idea. I don't know if in the new version it's less gruesome than in 2.09e, but I find it counterproductive. Drawbacks like this are usually introduced to balance things out, but the trains (except for enjoyment and aesthetic reasons) don't offer much in terms of overpowered. They don't need overheating.
Does it still explode with the force of 15 Creepers?
I agree that overheating is now working not interested. Overheating does not not work as I suggested. And I would like to be able to disable it in the cfg file. Perhaps in the future if the Spitfire wants, I would suggest a more interesting ideas overheating.
Do not be surprised - my English is Google translate. I never play Minecraft without these mods:
ExtraBiomesXl, Industrial Craft, Build Craft, LCTrees++, Metallurgy, Railcraft, Smart Moving, Forestry, Jammy Furniture Mod, Kaevator Super Slopes, Xtra Blocks, ReiMinimap, CraftGuide.
Thank you, that should solve my problem, perhaps on bigger locomotives going on the sharp turns would derail them? Also, as a side note (as I still don't have minecraft access), last time I checked about trains going on the curves like that, they would zigzag, which looked terrible (sorry), has this been fixed?
being the destruction loving pyromaniac that i am, I think this needs to be made
-snip-
Well, while I think rail guns are pretty cool, I believe that (as helldiver stated) it would look rediculous going around turns, imagine... a 100 ton rail gun, with at least two thirds of it sticking off the edge of the rails over a cliff.
I have never had problems...
-Do a clean install with a fresh minecraft.jar.
-Install Forge
-Place the TrainMod in the Mods folder.
-Start a new world. If you get the "Saving Chunks" thing when loading, close Minecraft and start it again. Create a New World, once created, exit that world and load your old world. At least that's what I do and my world always loads.
Now on to bigger and better things...
America!
Union Pacific SD-70
FMC modeller kept crashing on me (that's why the rear hand-rail is selected). Seems like it can only handle so much...
I'll be sending the files off to Spitfire tomorrow. I will do repaints of other Major railroads (more than likely BNSF, Northfolk Southern), once this locomotive is in game.
Repaints to other liveries is very difficult since the cab is very complicated. So I may only do the major railroads so long as they are simple.
Enjoy!
Wow! You can count on my support for every amazing model you design for trains mod, this is amazing!

BF109Pilot: doing his best to help others in need (and I've heard say that I'm not the best in the biz)
any chance we could get "car inventory size varies by car physical size" and a config that lets us limit what will go into such and such car's inventory by item/block ID added to the To Do list when it arrives?
It really annoys me that the tiny small box car has the same size inventory as the largest box car
Had to do a nearly 75% rebuild of the whole model. FMC modeller is just awful... The new rebuild was so that I could optimize it to use less peices to accomplish the same thing.
Here are the liveries:
CSX
Union Pacific
BNSF (Burlington Northern-Santa Fe)
Norfolk Southern
Some generic colors:
Sending it off to Spitfire tonight. Will be a few days more until it is ready. That's because I have to see it in game in order to repair texture flips.

look good, but it looks like we'll never get rid of the fact that all the trains of different sizes. My idea is to create a collection of realistic trains in the same size, go fails.

True that!
However, these locomotives are 100% compatible with the SD40's, US Freight cars and accessories you made. The SD-70 is right at 32 units high, the same as your SD40. They are 4.25 Blocks in length, so about the same length as your SD40s. [Edit] Longer by about a block.
But, I was going to ask for your permission, if it was ok if I re-made the SD-40's? The SD-70 shares the same chassis and generator arrangement as the SD-40 so it would really be more of a Cab and minor generator assembly change.

hate to break it to ya, but chandler made(or intended to make)GP 40s.......
They are already in game (they've been in game for a while). Hence why I'm asking.
i understand that they are already in game, so let me rephrase; Chandler has made Gp 40 model, which are in game. however i'm no train design expert, so he MIGHT have had a picture of a SD-40 but thought it was a GP 40(he is Ukrainian). either way to my untrained eye, they are GP 40s.

Nothing says we can't have both.
We have multiple versions of Steam Engines (Some I made, some others like DayDiecast made). We can have multiple versions of the Diesels.
Some people might like the more "Minecraft" look of Chandler's SD-40, some might like the more realistic look of the SD-70. It's really more choices.
Personally I like Chandler's diesels because they are shorter, where my SD-70 and maybe SD-40 may be a bit long.
So if we can have both it would be fantastic. I'm sure a lot of people who use the mod would appreciate it
I prefer the generic "Minecraft" look. Since when I play minecraft I imagine I'm in a different world. But some people like the "Real-World" look. It seemed like many people here were requesting "real-world" looking trains. heheh
[Edit] The only reason why I made the SD-70 and SD-40 was because several people requested I make them. And since I have the plans/blueprints, and live right next to a Union Pacific railyard (I'm in the central valley, California) it only made sense.

Yes, I did GP40. This is to replace the old giant models. But the new giant models still appear

My sincere apologies. It seems I was confused as well.
The ones in game that Chandler made are GP-35s. They were very famous and are still used around the world.
GP-35
Note the 4-4 truck arrangement, this made them shorter.
I modeled the SD-40's which uses the same chassis as the SD-70's. The cab is different and some internal stuff, but the wheel arrangement is 6-6, which makes it longer.

The one I modelled thus far:
Test textures.
This one is longer than Chandler's, by about 1.25 blocks. So the good thing is you'll have a choice whether to use the shorter (better for Minecraft) GP-35s, or the longer SD-40s.

ohhhh, i thought that you were going to replace them, like the guy did with the heavy steam loco, whose new texture i still don't have. is that because it's not in the mod. i have the most up-to-date version. the test build aka 2.2.1(b?)
Now that I see the whole lot of em, they're amazing!
EDIT: Sorry for the massive reply but Im not sure how I could make it smaller...
EDIT2: Made it a bit smaller as to not take the whole page up with my reply.
i like the design, but are you going to make different versions of the color scheme?
EDIT: i like chandler's BNSF Colors more because the orange isn't as dark. is this orange more realistic, or is it just a slight mistake? as i said the structure is awesome though!
Find out how I generate....coolAlias...world structure generation and rotation tool...
we have enough "high speed locomotives"
being the destruction loving pyromaniac that i am, I think this needs to be made
or at least its sister

idea is good, i think. But for future
Spitfire, maybe its time to create "todo list"?

A question for Spitfire:
Is it possible to change the center location of a locomotive so that it is the Center of the 3D model and not where the player sits?
Is it hardcoded where the player sits becomes the center of the locomotive?
If it were possible to make the center of the locomotive its actual 3D center, then we'd actually see smoother turns (like the freight cars).
